i exclusively use exclamation points in email conversations with women because they use them with me and i feel obligated to match their "enthusiasm"

Excessive, overly used exclamation points drives me crazy. Every time I see them (minus the very few appropriate exceptions when warranted) I immediately think: this person is either melodramatic, or they are juvenile-like reactionaries. While I've never mentioned this to said people because it's their prerogative to type/write anyway they please, it is for sure a pet peeve.

What do you expect from women? Usually they are expressive. And it applies to different cultures too. I've read many letters in Spanish, same thing with the exclamation sign from women, different language.
This particular subject seems a bit trivial anyway.
