- "I would put exclamation points at the ends of all of these sentences!"
From Seinfeld Season 5 Episode 4 'The Sniffing Accountant': George's father gets him an interview as a brassiere salesman. Evidence points to Jerry's accountant being a cocaine user. Jerry, Kramer, and Newman set up a sting to find out the truth. Elaine's new boyfriend is perfect except for his unwillingness to use exclamation points.

About Seinfeld:
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions. Often described as "a show about nothing," Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring are Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry's ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry's neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry's eccentric neighbor, Kramer.

“I didn’t know that I was required to capture the mood of each caller” is a good comeback
Pre-emoji society 😕
I don't feel like you're telling the truth, If you really felt that way, You would have put am exclamation point at the end of your sentence... I'm a little disappointed in you!!!!
@@Luniz-5-On-it
Awful. Luniz wouldn't be caught dead making such a lame joke. Do better.
Big props to Larry and Jerry making Elaine an absolute mental dumpster fire too 👧
For sure. JAS and MR stole the show, but JLD’s delivery was also 🤌
Elaine was already that from the start
Haha, I can just hear Larry saying to someone … “I noticed you didn’t use an exclamation point … “
The word “haphazardly” was the turning point in that argument ahaha
The punctuation problem idea is so Larry David.
Hey you..’Curb Your’ Snark. 😅lols 🇦🇺🤜🤛
my mothers father was a literature teacher so its a bit offensive to make fun of people who care about grammar.
@@againstthepods4316
🫡Your grandfather is LEGENDARY! Thank goodness for dedicated teachers. 🏆
I’m sure since it’s a comedy scenario, your dear grandad would have had a quiet chuckle too 🤭💕🕊️✨🇦🇺
Respect to you and I hope your day gets better! 🤗🎈

* it's
😄🙂🙃
Agreed! Lol
The is one of funniest and stupidest breakups in Seinfeld!!! Who breaks up over a punctuation?!!!! Lmao!!!!!😂😂😂
A couple of writers I suppose lol
Eh, Jerry finds almost any reason to break up with his dates.
He cleaned and cooked for her. He was handsome and intelligent. But she couldn't handle him not using exclamation points to her liking...🤦🏻♀️
Elaine: I was wearing my sling back pumps.
George: What are those?
Elaine: Ask your mother, you live with her now dont you?
Ouch.
Brutal.😂
George gets his revenge burn in “The Opposite”.
It was a damp and chilly afternoon so I decided to put on my sweatshirt!
I pulled the lever on the machine but the Clark Bar didn’t come out!
@@bigbowlowrong4694 !
*_Jerry's sweater is definitely a 'back closet' garment. I'd say it's a close second to the infamous Puffy Shirt. LOL_*
😂😂
Well, it was a damp and chilly afternoon so he decided to put on his sweatshirt!
Subconsciously, she was bored with the relationship, so she self sabotaged like a glorious dumpster fire. She’s more like Jerry and George than she’d ever want to admit
"If YOU were in an accident, I wouldn't stop of FOR JUJYFRUITS!!!!!!
That Elaine character is Insane!!😂
Seems like a typical jaded New Yorker. Well played!
what are ya, ratgirl's blasé sidekick? 🙃
Two exclamation points? Really?
@@vasyan123 😂
This is one the stupidest things I've ever seen. Which makes it a perfect Seinfeld plot.
I agree!!
😆
George: Jerry, where'd you get that sweater?
Jerry: What do you think? I found it in the back of my closet.
George: I think that's what the back of closets are for.
Rare George W
Her delivery of “Ask your mother, you live with her now… don’t you?” Is so so perfect
Until she gets evicted later…
And then in a later episode Elaine argues that "Top of the Muffin to you!" didnt need an exclamation point with Mr. Lippman lol
It's not "Top of the Muffin TO YOU!"
Excellent callback!
No it is!!
What a cold comment from Elaine to George about him living with his Mom 😂😂😂
Elaine was pretty snarky toward George anyway
He gets his revenge in “The Opposite”😂
Frank Costanza needs an exclamation point after SERENITY NOW!...So does David Puddy after That's Bogus Man!
Double exclamation mark!!
@@Bloodynine606 🤣🤣🤣
Frank Costanza should have an exclamation mark after his name on documents, name tags and on his gravestone!
Elaine and George friendship is such a vibe 😂😂 George always gets roasted by her😂
STICKIN' IT!!! (the one where she bought him a coffee)😀
And the time he ask her for advice, but got him to give her advice and left
Seems an entire generation didn’t take this episode to heart. I can’t tell you how many work emails I get that begin with “Hello!” and end with “Thank you!”
Isn't this the same guy who was in the hospital and she stopped for candy before leaving the theater?
They'd gotten back together in that episode.
Yes and he didn't want anyone wearing the same eyeglasses.
That’s a later episode.
If I recall, that was actually in episode 6x06, right around the 13 min 46 sec mark.
Sorry I can't be more specific, I am just going off memory
This is the first time I've seen a couple break up over a punctuation mark seriously that's one of the most insane and pettiest things I've ever seen in my life
What about all those women getting their periods?

I just LOVE the challenges of ‘punctuation’!
I couldn’t master maths, chemistry or physics…
but by Lord, my punctuation always impressed my teachers…for “some unfathomable” reason! Lols 😂
I’m retired now, however, the BEST years of my pre-maternal youth were working in the Childcare Industry!!! 😅💕
There are 3 types of Seinfeld episodes:
1. Characters have a misunderstanding and it snowballs
2. Character breaks a social faux pas
3. Character breaks up over something stupid
Coming from the person that has a problem with, “you gotta see the baby!”
"Capture the mood of each caller"😂😂😂😂
3:24 Elaine actually has nice legs
It's the "sling back" pumps.
Elaine has nice everything
Top of the Muffin TO YOU!!!
Top of the muffin … TO YOU!!!
I'm with Jake Jarrell on this one. Using an punctuation on a handwritten note is so stupid.
But you should use it on internet comments!
You clearly do not deserve a loving relationship of any kind.
And then this feeling the material scheme gets Georgie boy fired even before getting the job 😂😂😂!!!
Punctuation problem is so " you can't say 'happy new year' after the 7th of January "type
You mean because a week has passed or because the fake insurrrection has "destroyed democracy and every new year"😅
Honestly I'm with Jake on this one. Exclamation points are used far too generously and frequently. People forget what their purpose is and when its used so frequently it loses its meaning.
And also, they guy did his job by conveying the message. What a psycho!
Today, would she expect him to use ALL CAPS or emojis?
@@bossfan49 Probably both
@@bossfan49and probably also the annoying but ever present TALKING👏LIKE👏THIS👏
Grammatically, exclamation points can only be used sparingly.
good grief, please try not to say stuff like that IRL
exactly!
Merriam Webster over here.......
Grammar and usage are two different things.
I always felt the ! after “the Clark bar didn’t come out!” should have been fine.
They referenced Clark bars like 2 or 3 times on the show. Do they still make those?
@@bossfan49the original company went bankrupt, but a few years ago production resumed under a new company name. I haven’t had them from the new company so can’t comment on the quality
@@josephmather4523 Are they only available in a certain region/market?
Elaine was always insane
Imagine a relationship being affected by things you learned from elementary school.
I can relate to that. Never quite sure how much a statement need accentuating. Without a exclamation point a statement can sound like dry humor or an understatement.
Serenity now!
With unnecessary exclamation points a statement can sound sarcastic, rude or over-the-top and silly.
That insult towards George living with his mother was completely unwarranted.
Friends rip on each other all the time.
He gets his revenge in “The Opposite” when Elaine gets evicted.
Only someone like Elaine would take umbrage about exclamation points...
The actor who plays Jake J also played a cop is Season 4 'The Trip'. Also he's right about the exclamation point.
"George was right. It didn't take you long." lol
This episode is a hidden gem. Funny stuff.
"He sounds like a cool guy"
You know who would use exclamation points? A guy who is definitely cool...Tony the himbo.
There's always something wrong with them. Always an excuse to get rid of the latest guest actor every week.
A timeless sitcom
Elaine thought she burned George but she tacitly admitted to wearing something that old women wear lol
And George gets his revenge when she gets evicted, sarcastically suggesting she move into his parent’s house.
I always loved the exclamation point episode🤣💯👍
This show definitely has got me to love but also hate the characters' stupid reasons to break up with someone. Over a exclamation point!!!!
Lets be honest. Having a baby doesnt deserve an exclamation point. Those 2 people are doomed, sleepless nights, bills, health insurance. Suddenly they are the warden and the inmates at the same time. If I added something after "They are having a baby" it will be a sad face, not an exclamation point LOL
My goodness this show was soooo ahead of its time. Even Elaine she was already a 2023 type woman, literally there was nothing wrong with this guy and she just had to find something. I bet Jada Picket learned a lot from this episode
If “I hate women” was a comment
Elaine is typical 1990 lady
Found the self-described "nice guy".
.....She's out of her mind!
There's your exclamation point.
capture the mood of the caller.. sounds ridiculous, I'm with Jake
I hate exclamation points!!!!!!
Some people just can't leave well enough alone.
I love this show ! ⬅️
3:22 those legs...
You people with the exclamation points! It never ends!
Eline Eline 😂😂😂😂
Huh
This show never gets old ❤❤😂😂
Elaine: ask your mother, you live with her now, don't you? at 0:12 LOL
I totally agree with Elaine about the exclamation point! Haha!
Organized furniture , matching outfits , organized music , composed art , sock drawer, and then there's The Correct way to Punctuate!!
I would have left to
this is exactly the argument people have now in chat conversations.
I thought I'd heard of everything - I never heard of a relationship being effected by punctuation
Thanks for the clip!
Elaine’s legs at 3:25…🔥🔥🔥
Top of the Muffin TO YOU!!!!!!!!
Get rid of the exclamation points, I hate exclamation points!
Top of the muffin TO YOU!
2:23, Jason Alexander got one in!
Lol everyone in this show is crazy 😂
Fighting about nothing,,,in line with the show
She's the grandmother of the Grammer Police you find online daily !!
"I've never heard of a relationship being affected by punctuation." Also 3:23 Elaine's legs. Damn.
Well Elaine got her revenge from Mr.Lippmann in season 8 Muffin Top For You !!!!!
It was a damp n chilly afternoon so i I decided to put on a sweater !!!😅
Elaine's actions are that of a modern woman today, she was ahead of her time!
Nice, you used the Exclamation point❗️
LMAO True!😂
Aaaa damn I just wrote something similar, should have read the comments first. But it's good to know I'm not the only one that point it out.
@@pablogrijalva1581 already 3 incels in a comment section.
@@kitosjek9541 it's not about being an "incel"... it's about telling the truth.
his face at 4:08 LOL
This is hilarious. If you've ever dated a woman who obsesses about every mood and whether it's one you and she share then you'll totally relate to this.
Elaine defending her stance whilst shoveling ice cream down her mouth is a total mood.
👹 Get rid of the exclamation point 👹
“Oh yeah, I’ll call you back.”
Does anyone else think she was talking about George?
It’s probably one of the hundreds of men that Elaine had already spoken to that week 😂 🤣
I always envisioned it was one of her friends from Long Island
TOP OF THE MUFFIN TO YOU!
The modern day equivalent to this would be emojis
in Elaine's defence, he seems to think the exlamation point only applies to the last few words of a sentence. that's wronger
:)
Why doesnt the island align with the kitchen counter properly?
!!!
I really can't stand exclamation points....they're so stupid
I love how Jerry hasn’t broken up with women over less
I’m totally with Elaine on the message needing punctuation . Having a baby is definitely worthy of using an exclamation point!
Of course, she took it way too far afterwards 😂
It might be worthy of one, but it certainly doesn't need one. Jake was right and Elaine made a fool of herself.
I could never figure out why Elaine tortured George. 😂 “You live with your mother?”
Is it not an exclamation mark?
Yes 😂
I think I agree with Elaine lol
So many of these situations won’t ever happen because of cellphones
men don't care about somebody elses birth.
