Your quilt turned out wonderful! Now, with that being said, I am not a fan of animal prints. I LOVE crazy quilts and yours is absolutely beautiful. I love the way your broke up the crazy blocks with the solid/not solid blocks! I love you and your channel! Happy quilting my friend! I’m out of chocolate…..😢 HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!
I really enjoy your videos. You are having fun, and I love that. Plus, you endorse eating chocolate. Yum. Thank you for the time and effort you use to bring us joy.
I’m not a big animal print person but your quilt top turned out cute. The borders really made a difference. Nice to see you don’t need every new ruler out there. Tfs!
Your crazy blocks would work well with batiks or larger prints. I've priced those rulers, oh my! Your method works very well April, and the black and gray are perfect with those animal prints.
It turned out great! Love the crazy blocks and the animal print blocks are breaking up the crazy!! You did great!! Thanks for sharing your ideas and frustration!!!🤪
This is so helpful to me. I resently acquired two animal prints. I am using your method to make block's out of them. I have a rotary cutting mat, and away I go. I want to make a medium size couch quilt, with matching pillows. I might add silver, gold, black, brown, gray, & white for some framing, & border's. Wouldn't it be cute with some applique paw prints too. Thank you my dear, dear April for giving me an idea for my fabrics, that I already have. I love Peppermint Patty's too.
Well now I want a York Peppermint Pattie...LOL. Thanks for the fun video. I love what you did with the animal prints!! I stayed to the end and that razor and I are fast friends. I use it on the back of my machine embroidery to cut jump stitches.
Love the gray & black you out around them. They kind of calm it down. I think I would use more gray around it then the black then do a scrappy animal print binding. Or do the black then the gray then the scrappy binding. I would audition those if it were me. 😀
Just cut a piece of template plastic and divide it into the pieces you want and there you have your blocks. Trace around the template pieces on your fabric choices.
from Gerry- I love what you came up with. I would go for any kind of sashing when you can't match blocks. You could have eliminated the sashing on your plan blocks and it would have looked nice. I always enjoy watching you work it out. Blessings.
Cute quilt. I have made a crazy quilt, a stained glass look, framed with black. It was stunning. I like your borders on your blocks.I really liked just the blocks set together before you added borders. Thank you!
Hi April. I want to try with totally different color ways...florals, stripes, animal, you name it! Maybe that's something to do this year. Thanks for sharing.
You always amaze me!!! Turned out wonderful!!! I’m voting yes to a big border. I really appreciate your personality in your videos, you are very informative but you are fun!!!
Laurie I am so sorry apparently someone did that reply -- it was not me I have reported it to utube You might want to change your password if you clicked anything I am so sorry - I had no control over this
You can always pull colors from the different animal prints, like the greys and blacks and the different oranges and use those to frame the crazy blocks. Using the same kind of colors that you would find in the place where those animals live would also work. Thank you for all your hard work!
You have made a nice top, however animal prints are not really me, choc definitely is hehe. Thank you for sharing. Soon be Easter egg time. More chocolate.
April , you are amazing .I’m not a big fan of animal print , but you made this really cute Stand out with the black and grey I love watching you and listening to you . Your just a down home honest lady love ya , please keep the quilts coming , I learn so much from you. Thank you .❤
Loved your video! Never been an animal print lover, but now I want to make one. How about black and white stripes cut on the diagonal for a “zebra striped “ border or binding? Looking for animal print fat quarters and a York Peppermint Patty right now.
This quilt turned out so cute and I love your crazy quilt block hack. I really like using the borders around the crazy block and alternating with a "normal" block. I'm a fan of big quilts, so I would need a border around the quilt. Do you have a jungle print in your stash you could use?
I love animal print also but when working with them and want some contrast I use neutral colors beige brown black and grey like you did and York peppermint patties are the best especially with my morning coffee have a great day 👋
Did you think about adding some thin black strips between your patches to make your Crazy Blocks bigger (stain glass style) as you sewed them together? Wine or dark red looks wonderful with animal prints also. Your quilt is going to be beautiful. I love what you have done.
That is an excellent idea. I love the look of stained glass. I actually have some more animal print purchased prior to this project. LOL. I will have to try that. April
I liked the gray and black for the borders of each block, but the cut blocks were to jumbled for my little brain. Maybe a small black strip to put between each print. That would be too detailed for me, however. Just thought my brain would like the "resting " spot between all the prints. Thanks for trying new things, and sharing them with us!
Love how this Quilt turned out. I think the Blocks work well off of each other and love how you placed them. It looks fantastic!😘 All the Animal print fabrics are so pretty but, I don't know most of their names either...lol.❤
I don't like any animal prints but the way you put it together looks great . If you add more blks x a border it would make a nice boys quilt. Love watching your show.
Check out Donna Jordan's YT listings for some blocks she sliced. She added narrow black fabric strips as connectors. Anyway I like your animal print quilt top. Thank you for the video 😊👍💕
@@judycurtis44 The one I was thinking about was called Layer Sticks or something like that, published about a year ago. It's a little different from April's, but she has others where she's sliced multiple fabrics and combined them to make up the block in the same way too. Lots of free patterns on the Jordan Fabrics website. Although a pattern isn't really necessary for this block/quilt.
Cheetah's spots are single. Leopard spots are in clusters. So you have one cheetah print and two leopard prints. I really enjoyed your "crazy" tossing of scraps.
Hi April, had my chocolate in cake form. Is that acceptable? Not crazy about animal prints especially snake prints! But your blocks are looking good. Did you try a goldish-brown border? Be good now, you hear.
Love your channel. You are adorable. Love how you do things.
Thank you so much!

Very nice! I too love peppermint Pattie’s!
Me too!!
I think a solid dark black would look good as a border...if you end up doing one.
I like that idea... thank you for the suggestion!!!
April
It turned out great! Love the crazy blocks and the animal print blocks are breaking up the crazy!! You did great!! Thanks for sharing your ideas and frustration!!!🤪

Love it, I would do a small scrappy border of just the animal prints.
Ohhh I love that idea
Love this idea, I have lots of animal print lying around. May give this a try. Thanks
Have fun!

You are so welcome! I love that thing ... I think it would be awesome to use on messed up embroidery (which for me happens alot)
This video is CRAAAAAZYYYYYYY🤪😜🤪
LOL ... Hi Di... YES it is!
Great outcome. Never thought of doing animal prints but now I’m inspired to try.
Go for it!
I'm not big into animal prints but this is cute. Also I love how you show the bloopers at the end. Great laughs.
Thanks so much!
Yes, put a boarder around those blocks!
Yes it would make a difference for sure!!!
This turned out really cute. To me it’s one of your best quilts.
Awww! Thank you
Bravo !! Looks good.
Thank you so much!!!
So funny; love your quilt!

York peppermint patties are the best. Even better frozen
lol!!!
Love the gray & black you out around them. They kind of calm it down. I think I would use more gray around it then the black then do a scrappy animal print binding. Or do the black then the gray then the scrappy binding. I would audition those if it were me. 😀

I’ll definitely be making this out of batik fat quarters - I’m thinking twin size for my granddaughter. Thank you for the inspiration!
Yay! Glad it was helpful

Your quilt turned out cute. I’d like borders
Thank you ... and I tend to agree .. borders make it pop
This is really pretty. I think a border would look good. Thanks April!
I think so too!

Another great quilt you really are an inspiration
Thank you so much!
April
your quilt is very cute
Thank you
I'm not crazy about animal print but I would go for solid black as the border the bottom block middle blends in to your wall looks good though
Great suggestion... Thank you!

Looks great April!
April, I wonder if someone hacked your comments 😮
They were trying to get people to click. Thank you so much for telling me.
April
I love the quilt you made with those prints! If you want to go even crazier, you could use your leftover strips for a border or binding.
Great idea!!!
Great ideas and use of animal prints. I find them intimidating, so have never tried using them. Quilt is really stunning and the sashing adds a lot.
Thank you so much!
Love it!
Thanks!!
I really enjoy your channel so much! You have such a great sense of humor!😂 The quilt you made of Animal Prints came out Beautifully! ❤
