Getting a pickaxe would be weird champ because then you can mine but suddenly need 70 instead of 55 smithing without an anvil
What would take more time, though? 50 Smithing from smelting ores from randomized monster drops, or 70 with a guaranteed rate from an ore vein?
My instinct tells me the latter, but if there's an argument for the monster drops I'd hear you (or whoever) out.
I was willing to get the 900 iron needed from thugs (1/32 drop) but that was when I only needed 30 smithing... 50 amplifies those odds significantly.
It'll be a ridiculous grind either way, no doubt.
It's also worth noting that both the chunk to the west and to the south both give immediate access to a pickaxe, which would mean I'd need to get 70 through smelting mined ores eventually anyways.

spent so much time with the minotaurs and the hill giants, the fishing, smelting thousands of iron ore. definitely one of the best areas as a f2p player

15:54 Actually seems like they might just have the same drop table as muggers. The common rope drop clued me in but I checked and muggers also have the 1 in 128 for a knife drop.

My friends & I started (not extreme) chunk locked accounts around this time, one of my friends was locked to Edgeville and after going 4x drop rate dry on the knife drop, I asked Ash if there was a possibility for a knife spawn or adding it to the general shop in Edgeville.....In January 22....About a month after you started. They added it to the general store a week or two later.

866,667 Big Bones for 13mil XP, which is currently 117mil GP at current GE prices. Which if done entirely at hill Giants will be 30,333,345 damage needed to be dealt, which would be 121,333,380 Combat XP and 40,343,348 HP XP.
So you would be getting 99's in Attack, Strength, Defense, Range and HP before you hit 99 Prayer.
wiki says with higher lvls u can get up to 50k xp/hr at hillgiants, so tbf thats actually very doable. would love to see it

@@oisterjosh he has access to rune battleaxe from obor and rune sword from bryophyta, he would obviously get that before he grinded 99 prayer.
@@mrhydromr if you got 50k combat xp/hour it would take 2,426 hours of killing Hill Giants to reach target. not impossible but im not going to agree on 'very doable' and I wouldn't wish that upon anybody

I hope you include the stairs/ladders and canoe's in your chunk rolling whenever you reach that point. I feel like that should be a thing, but perhaps poll it when you reach that point later on in the series. For now, I enjoyed the first episode!

Your style reminds me a lot of OneChunkMan/Alyx (maybe it's the touch of musical flair you added). The other one chunk series I've had trouble getting behind for whatever reason... but you've got an oddly relaxing style, and Edgeville actually seems like an amazing, nostalgic chunk to start in. No KQ to kill, just a mid-level boss, which seems more approachable and attainable (and gives me hope you might get off the chunk!). Should you commit to the series (and I wouldn't blame you a bit for not doing so) I will very much look forward to future vids. Appreciate the content!

Loving the series. For the mining grind instead of running the ores back and forth would super heating maybe be more viable ?
Earth warriors drop steel spears. They can be safespotted. Black demons can also be safespotted and drop black swords. Idk if that’s helps you at all or not lol
Edit: just seen you mention the black sword at 13:35. Steel spear is better than iron mace and same speed. Earth warriors also drops staff of earth and a fair amount of herbs/runes.
