  • CORN HARVEST 2022 with 3 JOHN DEERE X9 Combines
    In this video I am out with a farm near MT Sterling Ohio as they harvest their 2022 corn crop using 3 John Deere X9 1000 combines with
    Deere C12F folding corn heads. Also in the Video they are running 3 different model John Deere Tractors pulling J&M grain carts
    John Deere 9620RX tractor pulling a J&M 1111 grain cart
    John Deere 8360R tractor pulling a J&M 1151 grain cart
    John Deere 8370R tractor pulling a J&M 1112X grain cart
    Also in the video you will see the farms grain bin set up and also had a surprise visit as a small airplane cruises over the combines.

    This farm is quite the operation. Amazing how their grain leg can keep up with truck after truck. Extremely productive for sure. Appreciate your time Mike.

    It’s amazing to see that these combines harvest almost as fast as they can unload. Props to the cart drivers for keeping up and managing the circus.

    As someone watching from the US
    • Watching your videos Mike makes it easy to understand our ‘Go big or go home’ mantra
    • It’s good to see all the 🚜 operators working together to get the job done efficiently - loads of resources and excellent management & preventative maintenance in place here
    • Watching harvest videos from countries like India show just how well things are still being done here in the US by comparison
    • A great example for businesses and government leaders to see how things can be done well
    • Thanks so very much for posting and sharing!
    All the best and God Bless. 🙏❤🇺🇸

    Cool video Mike. I think you worked at the same place my grandfather, and later, my father, bought their New Idea Uni Harvesters. My grandfather's gas model burnt up in the late 80's my dad bought a diesel model to replace it in the late 80s, early 90's. I remember having the picker, chopper, combine as well as the grass, corn and grain head. We mostly chopped grass and corn and picked corn. I only remember using the combine for soybeans and oats a couple times. We also had Decker forage wagons that were quite old when I started running wagons. I remember them being very smooth and quiet.

    Fantastic capture of this triple X9 harvest operation! Crazy about catching the plane buzz pass! How does the 'nearby flight operations' warning work - is it based on flight plans or is there some automatic detection? If the pilot switched to stealth mode, that makes someone wonder about it.

  • @John-rr4zz
    @John-rr4zz ปีที่แล้ว +3

    By any scale this is incredibly efficient. Imagine cultivating and cropping this area back when with either horses or the old popping John size tractors. it's not that many years since 1,2 and the BIG 4 row pickers were being used and the international box trucks!! . I find that odd the duster came through and that he was dumping a product onto crops that were being harvested !?.

    • @farmhandmike

    On the combines, is the thrashing capacity same as the unloading capacity? The combine manufacturers don’t have any information on that area of questioning.
    Seems like a great idea to get some mother bins for the additional storage space.

  • @John-nc4bl
    @John-nc4bl ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yow Mike, thanks for another impressive video from ya.
    I must admit I have buzzed a neat formation of combines cutting wheat once in my aircraft, both ways, towards them and from behind them.
    Kinda risky with all them pesky little droners nowadays.
    A big no no landing in corn stubble as it would be hard on the tires and also make for a long take-off run.
    Anyway, those JD combines should have at least 16 row 'well-hung' heads-😊on their snouts making for less compacted tracks across the field.

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks, They plant with a 24 row planter so 12 row headers match up better. Plus the 12 row folding head folds into a width close to the width of the combine which makes transport easier down the road. A 16 row folding head is borderline for getting down the road.

  • @LtColDaddy71
    @LtColDaddy71 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Might as well just drive the semi’s in the field, eliminate the grain carts. I know on the 1100 with a 16 row head, in a field that did 322 bushels, I drove one that never bogged down once. It kept adjusting on the run, and all you can do is hold on. Class did a scam test where they claim they won, I call BS.
    I just wish organic corn needed an X9. It won’t even slow down a 9500 lol. I actually settled in to a pair of 9870’s.
