Slim you are just a dear person, thank you for taking us out of the humdrum of this miserable world full of negative situations. I can watch one of your videos a number of times and see new scenes, I had not seen before. Thanks for taking us along the journey. This is not a crtisism but an observation; you need to spice up your dinners a bit more,!! 🤗🤗🤗.
Slim, a whole lot of us are out here watching your videos and living vicariously through you. Kids, college, spouses and an addiction to luxuries make it hard for us to do what you do, but we envy you. Really interesting videos you make.
Slim, I get it. A few years ago I spent 3 days snowshoeing/backpacking solo in Rocky Mountain National Park. It has been one of the highlights of my life. And by the way, your videography is in the top 5% of all TH-camrs. I feel like I'm watching Marty Stouffer's Wild America. Keep it up.
I too started with a tent. In 2015 I bought new Jayco RB165 Hybrid. I don't use the hybrid. Just I and my dog. It has everything one could want to be comfortable. I only camp in state parks in summer months. Still own my home base. I could go full time in the camper, I just choose not to do that. I stumbled onto your channel and I just find it very interesting and relaxing to watch. Take care 👍
My coworkers are all wondering why I am laughing out loud. It’s the sitting on the potty outside waving to passerbys. You have a terrific sense of humor. Well done sir
I follow quite a few i guess you could say well known nomads but i have to tell you i am slowly weeding them out and this channel is fast becoming my favorite. No drama and very Informative video's with beautiful photography. You show what we want to see without the BS. Thank you for what you do.
Just found ur channel today. Don't know why not before, been listening to Bob for a cuppla years. Guess i'm picky, and u having very good information & presentation. Definitely subscribed, liked, saved, & shared. U'r the real deal. Looking fotward to more.
Channeling Mr. Emerson. I know you know this, put yam fries in first to cook longer before adding other ingredients. Thank you for taking us with you. Outstanding, as usual.
Possibly your best, most cinematic, effort to date. Specifically the slow motion water and ice and soundtrack. The world around me disappeared for a short time while I was totally mesmerized. Well done, and thank you so much!
I work too hard... too many hours at work... but the little time I get watching your uploads is a valuable lesson in what I should be doing and aiming for... it’s nice to see someone living and not just existing...keep them coming it means a lot... all the way over in the UK... and hope you all have a Merry Christmas everyone
O.K. you little genius. What a pellet stove. You have electric, fan, your stuff is being recharged, your warm in your A Frame, you can cook even bake on it, what a great little creation. You better be careful or you will find yourself making stoves for millions. How genius. We also have camped out in the wilderness whenever we could. I wish we would've had that stove. That miniature dinosaur you saw crawling out of the freezing ice, displays the resilience of life forms. We also enjoy the beauty of snowflakes, in the individual viewing. The peace, quiet, smells, and food cooked out in the open always tastes better than anything you cook on the inside. We roared with laughter when we saw you waving to the trucks....We love your creations, your sensitivity to nature, your enjoyment of the miracle of life itself....Thank you so much for sharing your birds eye view of the beauty of life. You are absolutely precious. Carolyn and Colin Hogarth (Canadians)
Great video Slim! I was thinking maybe sprinkle bread crumbs and some dried crispy onions over the casserole to add some crunch and get the browning effect. Maybe fry/bake your yam fries first and then mix with veggies and sausage to finish. Just sayin’. Lol. Take care and stay safe.
Thank you so, so much for making this beautiful video...I do understand what you were saying at the end, what is so hard to put into words. I am amazed and inspired by your experiments, and challenging yourself, to see how much you can accomplish... you capsured the majesty and beauty of the water, the ice, the birds...it was just breathtaking. You are inspiring in more ways than you know
As cold as it is, the running stream makes me thirsty, and I am watching this in February. This guy is just good at what he does, I just love watching his videos. Pure genuis!! . Bless him, I wish he would learn to cook tho!!! He just chucks everything together and see what comes out ......lol....
Nice one, SP! Thanks for trying to explain the peacefulness of solo camping. Some people will never understand. I think of campgrounds and camper gatherings as being akin to tenements with very thin walls, and neighbors from whom I cannot escape. Not for me! Give me the quiet of remote, solo camping.
I honestly can't decide which is most fascinating .. you ... or nature. . . or experiencing nature thru your eyes & thoughts. Don't know anything about your life , but i do know one thing .. you were born to do this.
You have a poetic selection of words, and that, combined with your voice is magical. I could listen to you for hours.........and that’s not even including your movie quality camera shots. Thanks for another magical trip, Slim.
Slim, I think you're the "Bob Ross" of camping. I enjoy the information and amount of work you put into the videos, but I enjoy the calm and peaceful way you present the information as much if not more. Look forward to many more!
Having watched so many van or full time RV videos - I highly recommend all those seeking to live full time in their RV watch your videos. They are unique in showing what is really important in outdoor living. You have a unique way of demonstrating techniques even when things don't go as planned . Your love of the outdoors is what I as a viewer see not a desperate cry out for a free campsite that seem to be the focus of too many other You Tubers in this genre . Keep up the good work
Well done sir! I agree with you totally!! I enjoy winter traveling and camping because of the mere fact, its much less crowded!! I am now 68 years old and started back when I was 23 years old!!
That was some top notch cinematography there, Slim. With your editing and music you really managed to convey the serenity and tranquility of your surroundings. Add to these your unique sense of humour and general informativeness and your channel truly stands out. I know you do what you do mostly for you, but I (and judging from pretty much every other comment on every video, your followers) greatly appreciate what you’re doing. On a more personal note, I often find myself feeling miserable in my daily grind and moaning and complaining about our long winters as I lock myself up and hibernate. I’m tired of living here and crave a change, but my circumstances don’t allow for a big change. But videos like yours show, not only what beautiful places we have right in our backyard, but also how much a positive and opportunistic attitude can help us craft wonderful experiences from anything. Thanks for reminding me of that, Slim. 🙂👍
Your videos are absolutely awesome. They are as good if not better than national geographic and your narration top notch. National Geographic should have you be their narrator. Just an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to.
I'm confident, that if you thought about it long enough, you could make your own collapsible toilet on a box, complete with a heater, and a shower curtain or more for privacy. And even a wide screen t.v., if you are so inclined. Beautiful video. Loved the video and pictures of all the winter scenes. So calm.
Thank you Slim. I really feel like I'm sitting right there visiting you. You have a great gift for sharing your experiences. Love you ( like a brother ) Slim, wherever you are. Happy safe camping.
The stream in the beginning slowed down was so peaceful and beautiful i near dozed off. I grew up in the mountains of Kentucky. I absolutely understand what it is like out there. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks
Slim, just a beautiful video. There is real value here. No drama, no judgement. Just good thoughts, practical ideas and way of looking at life. Well done. --Mark
What a beautiful place. So peaceful. I really want to thank you from the dept of my soul for no drama videos. Even when things are perfect you keep the peace. Bailey
Two of your videos and I'm hooked. Already hit the sub button. I am a US EX-pat with eight years and counting in the Republic of the Philippine Islands. Most of the time, finding a cool place to get away from heat and humidity is the goal! If you head up north to the mountains of Baguio, you may expect temps to drop near freezing and even see a light frost from time to time. We love to go out and explore but simply a hammock strung across our carport with bug net in place allows cool sleeping without the need to run air-con. We loved watching your genius solution to the install, that is what makes it all so much fun and affordable. Stay well and be safe. From Jack, Beautiful Bride Maria and our four troops, Vincent, Veronica, Christian and Lance in Bulacan on Luzon.
WOW! AMAZING! Wonderfully shot video. Beautiful music. Stunning scenery. Who could want anything more. As a fellow Albertan I believe we have some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world if we just take the time to stop and look at it. I SO want to do what you do. I would thrive on the peace and quiet. Thank you SO much for what you do and teach us through these outdoor experiences. Blessings Slim!
Great video! Though I live in Southern Ohio now, I’m originally from Northern Michigan. People here think I’m crazy but I miss the Northern Winters. It’s a special time of year to be out in Nature.
Oh, wow! I just found your first video on the stove, and was so fascinated, I had to look for how it works in the winter. I'm glad I did, because in 61 years, i've never seen anyone so fascinated with creation besides myself lol... not like is evident in your waterside discourse. Loved it. Also love my veggies and sweet potatoes! Love seeing someone enjoy the snow and nature that I love so much. It's not hard at all to understand why you love being where you are, I'm so missing doing that! Thank you for sharing!
We used to camp in the snow alot, loved it. Ended up cooking our Thanksgiving bird, dressing, yams, etc n the fire pit one year, snow all around. Needless to say the fire pit was "always" hot. Then, found the desert, lol no more frozen everything Ha ha Glad I found you and your "experiments", great ideas. Thanks for sharing, appreciating, and living the dream.
Most of the time people take tiny things that are honestly incredible and ignore it or take it for granted. I'm delighted to find this channel and to see that others appreciate what most ignore....those tiny but miraculous things that make us stop & appreciate being alive even more
I understand, completely. It’s not that I particularly like being by myself in the wild, it’s usually because no one else feels about it the way I do. And as you know, being with someone that talks & complains about the little things that make an experience in the woods what it is, the trip isn’t enjoyable any more for either of us. You have a good eye in your photography & video work...very enjoyable. Thank you!
Just discovered your channel today and subscribed. I grew up in the north and I miss just being out in the wild in a carefree manner. I appreciate how unhurried you are in your videos as well as your humor and honesty. From potty breaks and bad casseroles (maybe not in that order). I find your videos very calming...a step back from the rat race.
Slim, I certainly understand your love of the solitude and year-round camping. Why I myself camped year round with nothing but a bedroll. Ah yes, nothing like the solitude of the Everglades in the winter. :-) Thanks for sharing your travels and adventures.
Thanks for the beautiful scenery. I live in Texas and seldom see snow. Once we were in a campground and snow was predicted. Everyone left except us. It piled up about 18 inches on the truck. It stands out in my mine as one of my best experiences. It is so sad that so many campgrounds close in winter when we finally get a break from the heat.
That was fantastic! Thank you for the wonderful videos Slim. I did enjoy the "Potty wave" to the truck passing by... that was hilarious! I always look forward to the new videos. Keep up the great work. :)
Oh, also wanted to mention.... I was driving through Vulcan today and saw a few A-frames at a dealer. I would never have even noticed them if it weren't for you. I saw those and thought, "Oh yeah! Those things are awesome!" 😄👍
Your videos are ALWAYS very good; YOU are up beat ALL THE TIME, making watching your posts like a tranquilizer for me (which is a great break---). Just continue, please!! 👍🤓👣
You have many talents, Slim. Loving your videos. Keep on doing the excellent job you've been doing. It's a joy to watch & be part of. Thank you for your sacrifice, sir. Safe & extraordinary travels.
Knock my socks off !!!! 40 years ??? Wow you're the man. !!!
Slim you are just a dear person, thank you for taking us out of the humdrum of this miserable world full of negative situations. the beauty of loneliness-in-nature. unbeatable! cheers from Nuuk, Greenland.
Hi clusterguard, I think you mean "solitude" in nature. I'm never lonely in the wilderness. Thanks! SP
You’re not alone, your companion is nature.
Slim, a whole lot of us are out here watching your videos and living vicariously through you. Kids, college, spouses and an addiction to luxuries make it hard for us to do what you do, but we envy you. Really interesting videos you make.
One of the best videos by Sweet Potatohead. Wide-ranging and peaceful with a dose of Slim's brand of humor. God bless this guy.

40 years?!!! I have the highest respect for you and especially your amazing work.
I watch every piece you upload.
Thank You Slim !!
My coworkers are all wondering why I am laughing out loud. It’s the sitting on the potty outside waving to passerbys. You have a terrific sense of humor. Well done sir
Masterpiece! You and Dennis Hopper, a yam casserole in a magical setting. The world needs to see this. Incredible, Slim.
I follow quite a few i guess you could say well known nomads but i have to tell you i am slowly weeding them out and this channel is fast becoming my favorite. No drama and very Informative video's with beautiful photography. You show what we want to see without the BS. Thank you for what you do.

If you can eat the food you prepare, you're a cook. if your food looks pretty, you're a GOOD cook!
Truly a man who 'Hears The Call of Nature!' Superb video skills and a rare ability to be at peace within himself wherever he may be.
Channeling Mr. Emerson.
I know you know this, put yam fries in first to cook longer before adding other ingredients.

Your videos remind me of the old Marty Stouffer Wild America series. Really enjoy the solitary feel to it.
Nice one, SP!

You better have someone with you on those remote trips. Always good to have a friend, companion or a family member to be around just in case.
Glad to have company, however not having it wouldn't stop me from enjoying the wilderness. The highways are the dangerous places, not the woods. SP
Your videos are absolutely awesome. They are as good if not better than national geographic and your narration top notch. National Geographic should have you be their narrator. Just an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to.
Sir you need your own animal planet show.
Your voice while talking about the wild is soothing and something most would watch in my opinion
Truly a hidden gem on TH-cam to watch and relax. Thanks Slim!!!
Slim tater - joyful joyful we adore thee - such a goof - thank u, poet!😀

Beautiful video. Loved the video and pictures of all the winter scenes. So calm.
Loved your video! Thank you for taking us with you. I totally get it why one would enjoy being in the serenity of the woods in the winter.
I couldn't do winter camping in freezing weather but I love seeing it through your eyes, especially the frozen bubbles!
Thank you Slim. I really feel like I'm sitting right there visiting you. You have a great gift for sharing your experiences. Love you ( like a brother ) Slim, wherever you are. Happy safe camping.
Just wanted to add, one of the reasons I watch you is because are by yourself, and not part of the Sardine-Packed crowd. Your video's are great.
I’m with you Slim, I’d rather hear the wind blow than the guy camped next to me “pass wind”
I love that u doesn’t swear. Nice nature and a soothing voice. Keep it up 👍
Very good editing! A philosophical approach to life! You have talent for sure to forward your message! Congrats!
The stream in the beginning slowed down was so peaceful and beautiful i near dozed off. I grew up in the mountains of Kentucky. I absolutely understand what it is like out there. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks
in the woods, in the winter, by the mountains alone is described in 4 words. awesome. great. perfect. heaven! thx for sharing slim another great vid!
Your personality is amazing , you have inner peace , that obvious
Slim, just a beautiful video. There is real value here. No drama, no judgement. Just good thoughts, practical ideas and way of looking at life. Well done. --Mark
Slim, been watching your videos for a couple months and believe me when i say, you are the dorkiest human being ever and i love it!
Kinda reminds me of watching nature shows as a child mixed with camping and travel ideas I want today. Love it!
Camping in winter? This video explains it perfectly. Thanks excellent
Slim, you are wild! When the scene switched and you were sitting on the spot, I fell out! Your vlogs are sooo wonderful. Never stop!😍😂
The production value of these videos is outstanding.
What a beautiful place. So peaceful. I really want to thank you from the dept of my soul for no drama videos. Even when things are perfect you keep the peace.
Bailey
Thanks Bailey! But wasn't the casserole drama? It could have tasted horrible and forced me to make a dramatic face! SP

One of your best Slim. Great photography. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
I can’t believe we get this content for free. Well done. DAMN well done!
Ohhhh AND BEAUTIFUL
FROSTY PHOTOGRAPHY
THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!
I MISS THE SMALL THINGS
SOOOOOO
MUCHHHHHH
Your videos are better than anything on cable, dish whatever. Thank you providing quality entertainment, also very helpful if you spend time camping!
Awesome video! Nature, in all its glory. “...and always wave at the neighbours.” Best part. :)
The video of the stream was very nice, much like watching a camp fire.
Great video! Though I live in Southern Ohio now, I’m originally from Northern Michigan. People here think I’m crazy but I miss the Northern Winters. It’s a special time of year to be out in Nature.

I'm for sure giving winter camping a try. A trailer sounds the best.
Another beautiful video. Love your eye for nature 😉
Most of the time people take tiny things that are honestly incredible and ignore it or take it for granted. I'm delighted to find this channel and to see that others appreciate what most ignore....those tiny but miraculous things that make us stop & appreciate being alive even more
I really like the wood stove videos slim. Keep em comin!
That looks so cozy I could stay a month in one of those to get away from it all

Yet another terrific video Slim! You sure do a lot with your little stove....and your narration is superb. Always a thumbs up!! Hal
I only have one problem with your videos....new ones don’t come out fast enough! 😂. Thanks for the great content!
Great nature pictures and perfectly done video. Greetings from germany
I love the cold weather camping you present to us. So beautiful
The stream footage was beautiful! I like warmth but you do make winter camping in the snow look tempting!
You're a good man Slim. The cooking was good enough. The photography was great. Thanks for sharing, felt like I was there with you.
The beauty in winter is astounding! You “yam” a very accomplished videographer! Excellent, and interesting, content!!
Your art through videography has become phenomenal in such a short time. Keep up the beautiful work. You are so inspirational.
Your ingenuity and attitude are special. Stay safe.
Glad to see stove worked out and 12v cooler is still cooling.
Great vid slim, I enjoyed the slowness of it, the music and the food prep. Well done.
Beautifully shot and great selection of music. Thank you for sharing God's Creation with us. Peace, Daniel, California.
That was fantastic! Thank you for the wonderful videos Slim. I did enjoy the "Potty wave" to the truck passing by... that was hilarious! I always look forward to the new videos. Keep up the great work. :)
That's some fine photography/cinematography right there.
Oh, also wanted to mention.... I was driving through Vulcan today and saw a few A-frames at a dealer. I would never have even noticed them if it weren't for you. I saw those and thought, "Oh yeah! Those things are awesome!" 😄👍
thanks for doing the bit on the bug. most ppl wouldn't. I would.. cheers
Thank Yoy Kind Soul for a wonderfully done VIDEO.
Peace to You an Yours TRULY, SO BE IT, SO BE IT, SO BE IT.
