No matter what the season, I love it when you "just go for a walk". With the music in the background your walks are soothing and beautiful. Best wishes on your next camper search. :-)
Thank you again for a wonderful video Slim - loved those moves on the ice!! I love to camp in my van in winter and I have no heater. I have a “tent” made of wool blankets inside the van where I sleep in a sleeping bag - plenty warm. This imitates the wool tents inside of yurts that people in Siberia use in winter - traps warm air - works great!!❄️
NOTE FROM SLIM: Great feedback as usual, but please NO LINKS! Just give a name and brand so everyone can find it. As for building my own trailer: Won't Happen! I travel, therefore have no time or place to build one. I only take short breaks to do minor mods. If someone wants to build one for me, I'm all ears. Thanks! SP
Slim Potatohead My 2016 Aliner LXE does pretty good job in the cold though we rarely see temps below 20 degrees F. I like that the fresh water tank is not hanging off the exterior but rather inside, under the bed. Plus the cassette toilet is all internal as well. The T@B teardrops by NuCamp seem very well built and you can stand up in them but not sure of how well they’re windows are insulated. Only downside of the T@B compared to the Aliner is the T@B feels smaller inside than the Aliner. Good luck in your search!
Hi Slim, nice video as always! Does your Osmo action perform normal on loop recording ( new firmware )? I jut got mine yesterday, set it up to 5 minutes, but it sometimes recorded 1 minute 10 seconds each, sometimes 5 minutes 20 seconds each, the worst is that for an over 30 minutes recording, it only gave me a few 1 minute clips, total was just about 5 minutes, I could repeat this. And this morning, it stopped recording, and I had to reset to factory. Can you test yours?
Slim, I want to express how much this video meant to me. What a fantastic video! I loved the variety, useful information about campers, your experiment with wood vs. pellets and the last beautiful shot of your walk. I don't know if you have any background in video or production, etc., but you are really good at this! Even your cooking segments are great! Your humble spirit makes folks want to watch more. Sadly for this suburban dweller, I never, ever, get to experience beauty like that. Esp. in the winter. Thank you for giving us a chance to see the places you visit. I don't know if I'll ever have the opportunity to do what you do. I'm grateful, just for the few minutes you let us join you, that we get to experience it if only in a video. Thank you.
Slim that looked beautiful there. So quiet and peaceful. To be alone in a place like that can really give someone a chance to reflect. Stay safe and warm out there. Cheers!!!
For some reason, I'm a winter person. I feel better, more energetic, up earlier and to bed earlier when it's cold outside. I am also one of those weird people who loves snow, the beauty and quietness of it soothes my soul. I live in one of those states when it is either feast or famine where snow is concerned, and never get enough to suit me. Good luck finding the new camper, I know you will make a wise choice and will find something a bit larger and more comfortable for you. As always, I enjoy your videos and the pretty scenes you show us of places I know I am now too old to ever see. Thank you for sharing your life and adventures with us, it gives us/me much pleasure.
I love camping in the snow ...something exciting about it . I could just see myself sitting out with a hot toddy ...loved this video Slim . ...I know we Will see more of your Aliner ...but I will look forward to seeing what you buy next time . Enjoy your trip there 😊
RVingwithG no not alone or in the middle of no where 😊 ...I live in the uk and pretty close to other places ...we have winter sites with scenic views but near others for supplies ect,....😊
Really nice video Slim....from what I see the best part about Winter camping is the peacefulness and the lack of crowds since the 3 season campers have called it quits and the sounds of nature have returned. I'll bet those warm places in Arizona are pretty packed right now...
I was glad to see you try wood in your stove. I plan to make one and was thinking the wood might be better, but I'll invest in pellets and a tall hopper. Whatever you buy for a camper, I would do one thing...don't get something perfect, get something that's going to be a blank canvas for you to modify. I've learned so much from your videos regarding how to make things work better for you. Your shower was genius. The stove, astounding. And the other hacks...brilliant. I'm camping now, and my next door neighbor has a v-nose cargo hauler that he made and customized into the sweetest camper. He said he bought it new as a shell for only 2 thousand dollars and modified it himself. So much of a manufactured camper has stuff you don't need or windows in the wrong places. The neighbor didn't want a sink, so he didn't put one in. He wanted space for his fridge (looks like yours) and he built around it for just the right size to house it and roll it out. The guy said that the v-nose is aerodynamic and goes anywhere he wants to go, and he gets good miles per gallon on the haul. He said he doesn't even notice it's there unless he looks in the rear view window. Just an idea I wanted to throw out for you to consider.
So beautiful. I'm blessed to have lived in 4 mountain ranges in my life. This is my first winter in the southern Rockies of Colorado. The peaceful silence is my favourite aspect. Your video looks a lot like where I'm living right now. First winter with no wood stove, but electric heat and that is not the way to do winter in the mountains. I love that Kimbo camper rig. When I get back on the road, I'm going for the 4x4 rig/ camper set up. Take care out there.
great video once again, Mr. Potatohead. And I especially enjoyed the cooking segment. I'd be a fool to try to convince you about which RV to get because it's a very individually personal decision based on what your priorities are. I can say that those who have commented that a truck camper is a bad decision because you cannot remove it easily to drive just the truck are completely wrong. It's a 5-10 minute process of removing the tie downs, driving the truck forward and lowering the camper. Reverse the procedure and your camper is back on and ready to go. But you'll make your decision based on good research and your own needs. I own a Lance 865 hard side 4 season, and if you have any questions I'd be happy to give you my experiences and input. Happy trails!
I completely agree, Hyker! I don't know why people who've obviously never owned a truck camper are adding their misinformed comments about how you can't easily take the camper off if needed. I've owned a TC for a while now and it's wonderful. But everyone has their own preferences.
I’m from Minnesota and I love winter too! Just like you not for 6 months though lol. Something about walking on a crisp cold day and hearing that cold crunch under my feet is satisfying to me. Thanks for sharing cheers...
Great video. Lots of great content. well thought out. The food looked really good and I'm a meat eater. I'm shocked aliner hasn't reached out to you and given you a grand tour of their products. Make you their representative for the aliner.
The mountains are the most spectacular in the winter, it is my favorite time to be on the mountain. The stars at night, the reflections of the moon on the snow can't be beat. If your crazy, then there are two of us.
You're doing it the right way slim! Winter camping is fun and for me winter camping is all about staying warm and cozy next to a hot stove and eating delicious meals! A hot coffee or tea on a snowy morning can't be beat! I'm doing a winter camp session myself and may do it for the majority of this winter! I use wood to heat my trailer and yes it's a ton of work and takes a TON of wood!
I have a pop up truck camper and really love it. What makes it unique for me is that it can be accessed when the top is down, even sleep on the dinette made into a bed for quick stops. In the warmer weather when popped up the cross breeze is amazing with all the windows unzipped. Down side is of course, you have to pop it up if you want to be able to stand up in it. Also, because the camper sits on a truck, climbing in and out can be a pain because of the height.
I think the smallest Four Wheel truck Camper with an inside shower is the Hawk model. Not a conventional shower...there is a drain in the middle of the floor and you have to assemble a shower curtain around it. Base price is less than $20k but, once you start adding options it escalates pretty quick to $30k. Most, if not all, pop up campers offer an extra insulative layer of fabric as an option to go around the top and make it suitable for cold weather. You might find a used one cheaper but you'll be looking for a while. They are popular.
Slim, I would appreciate a video or two on how to summer in Canada (I live in Florida). Maybe some second tier locations that would be less crowded and less expensive.
Layering your clothes is major important. Insulated boots and decent socks. Carhart makes great union suits.I buy hand warmers that go inside my gloves. Top quality gloves are very important too.In 1973 we moved to Jax. Fla. from Seattle(born and raised). Although living in Jax Beach and Saw Grass watching the sun rise from the ocean, I can't stay away from the pines trees and the mountains. Northern Idaho is beautiful with 4 seasons. I live in Silver Valley 3 miles from the Silver Mountain Ski Village. Today 26 degrees.
@TheInfinitequest This Yankee moved to Florida, for work, in the 70's. Talk about skeeters, they have saddles down there. Every week, a truck would drive through our neighborhood, fogging to keep them under control. I missed the green forests and mountains too much and moved back home as soon as work was available.
Nothing better than warming yourself during the cold days. And vegetarian food is the best. Meat gets boring after a while. Canada is beautiful. You’re lucky to live in such a wonderful place.
Your computer must be the anteroom of heaven. Filled with beautiful treasures. Good luck in your search for a new experience house. I just sold my A class and ordered a truck camper. I wonder who has inspired me!
I'm searching out winter camping videos with all the crisp snow & amazing scenery to combat the June heat. Its been a pleasant spring compared to others, but I simply do not enjoy hot weather. Can't wait to see what you have in store of us on this one, as I'm only 3 minutes in! I know I will not be disappointed!
Hey Slim ... suggest you purchase a 6 by 10/12 cargo trailer and convert to a camper. For a third of the price of the Ascape you can have the same or more amount of space, same weight and a better built trailer. You could insulate it really well for the winter camping you enjoy. Cheers, Bert from Toronto
Hi Slim, when you use all dry wood, it will burn hot and fast. The trick is to add some green wood to the dry and it will burn at a lower heat and last longer. Thanks for all of your great videos.
I love winter, too, as long as I have a place to go snuggle in front of a fire! Just returned from a ski village in Bavaria. I cannot ski and am too old to learn but I can sled, snow shoe, etc.
Never to old. I took it up again at 63 with 2 replaced hips. Snowboarding is easier to learn. I'm a skier. 3 miles from Silver Mountain Ski Village, Idaho.
Bucket List Boomer try cross country skiing. I like it much more than downhill. You go at your own pace on hiking trails and lose the crowds and lift ticket fees and other expenses.
Showing people how to be comfortable while camping during the winter is a valuable video. For fair weather folks like me, hints on keeping warm and where to go are very useful. Having fun on the ice was great! If we are too old to play, we are truly "old", IMO. I enjoyed this video, Slim.
Yes to Winter camping! I love spending days outdoors in the snow, our parents took us every Sunday to Shawnee National Forest for the entire day, rain snow or shine. It's healthy to be outdoors regularly on the Winter. Love you Slim!
Praise God, someone sent you some cooking ideas. Just watched another TH-cam channel and the guy had a pretty incredible idea for water heating system. That was pretty ingenious. Yup, Abner looks ready for pasture. E-mailed your channel to a couple of camper companies for consideration. Thanks for sharing Slim.
Dinner looks wonderful. I caught a video recently “Armadillo” travel trailer made in British Columbia...has everything but a bit on the expensive side.
Hi Slim, did winter camping, once, in -14 temps at Algonquin Park. Great listening to the wolves and hiking during the day. But, being in Ajo, Arizona, at the moment, sunny, no snow and not close to freezing. Great hearing the coyotes and wild burros. As for the pop up truck campers ... they can be troublesome in the wind and if you can't dry quick enough, after a rain, mold could be an issue. Better to stay with an A-frame or solid wall trailer/truck camper. Cheers, Steve
That new Ascape looked really cool and lots of mod potential. That would be a worthy upgrade indeed especially having its own shower and toilet and tv and airconditioning and stove and weighing less than 2000lbs. Really a good find.
Yet...no RV has what it really could use...R-25 insulation. So I bought a cargo trailer and super insulated it. Now I need only a tiny A/C in 100 degrees and a tiny heater down to zero F. It was a lot of work yet worth it in the long run. I used 5.5 inch thick rockwool insulation.
@@geraldhenrickson7472 Was not going for foam board a safety or cost issue for you? I would think that your walls could have remained thinner and given you precious interior inches?
LOL "I think I could cook grass and dirt and it would taste Sensational with this sauce" LOL Love the Vids Slim!! You really should auction off Abner to the highest bidder!
Great video. I loved your ice slides. I do live in Florida but spent a few years in Upstate New York. I love to see others enjoy winter. I miss it for about 5 minutes a year :). Stay safe and warm. Your wood stove is awesome too.
Robert Wylie when we looked at one seriously, we looked at the wheel base and how narrow it was as compared to the height and how high the weight in the trailer appeared. The other thing was the resale value was not what I thought it should be as related to other small trailers. A frames have a big following as do the Nucamp Tabs 320s and 400s. We ended up buying a Tab 320 S mainly because we are on the road more than we were in camp grounds. The alde heating system is one of the best heating systems that I’ve run across.
The Great Ascape is wider than the Ascape. I have heard their tow ability is very good. The Tabs are nice, but very pricey. I agree with you on the Alde system 100%!
I like winter too and there is nothing wrong with that! I sleep better in the cool/cold temps plus no mosquitoes, no moths, no chiggers, no fleas, no ticks, no flies. The world seems quieter with a layer of snow and I don't apologize for liking all of it. :)
Great video, Slim. As always, thank you for keeping us informed. Enjoy the new equipment! Hope to see you on the trail some time. Happy Trails Everybody!
Hi Slim, great video. I live in YYC and as a former Aliner owner I’ve been following your Channel and video from the start. We now have a different pop-up - a TAXA Mantis that I’ve modified and am very happy with. Between the Aliner and the Mantis we had a Hallmark Truck camper and that’s what I would suggest you check out. Exceptionally well built in Colorado, the pop up sides are insulated and many, many owners use them for Four Season camping. They are also light weight and have versions for mid-size pickups (Tacoma, etc). Best of luck in your search.
Aboot winter Eh! Friend, it's winter in Florida too. Most of the time not too cold. I missed the Pacific Northwests winters when I moved to Fla. I now live in Northern Idaho panhandle. I get all 4 seasons here. Wishing Canada wasn't as strict getting back into your country after a DWI from the states is on ones record. Before my DWI I rode my Harley to Pentikton during the summer time around 1982. Your parks are amazing. I couldn't believe wood was provided. Since I'm not going to pay from $250.00-$1500.00 non refundable to apply to reenter your wonderful country, I love watching your Canadian vids. PS. I never drink more than 1 beer and drive. I may drink 1 beer a month if that. I home-brew Porter. Congrats to Canada for legalizing pot. I began using it in 1966. Stopped in 1980. Began again while going threw chemo therapy in 2005. I couldn't have made the 6 months without it. Your vids are noticeably getting better and better. Your very artistic. I'm glad your blues video made it buy the copy rite police.
This is what I decided on. Just got a 6x10. Going to put in windows, bathroom, sink and power. Going to insulate it as well. I have no experience in converting one, but I think it will be a great learning project.
Of course you like Winter camping -- you're Canadian! Plus there are no bugs, yay! Bears are resting, too. I also follow Steve Wallis, he's another Canadian that camps in snow (sub zero, in a tent!) It's nice to see you enjoying your dinner, since you once said you eat to live, not live to eat. Bet you'd like Mabu Tofu, other than finding decent Tofu on the road! Good luck with your trailer search, I await your choice with interest! Thank you, Slim!
I spent the last 25 years in RV s Summer in Germany and Winter in Morocco. I found that if you have a timer you can cook all your vegetables in one pan, EG Potatoes 20 mins Cauliflower and Brocoli 6 mins Brussel Sprouts 12 mins etc. Then after draining add your ingredients Stephanie Sue and as you say Awesome
Omg what a stunning location! Your ingenuity on fashioning things for your A Liner is amazing... you need something, you make it! Regards from Dublin, Southern Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘️☘️☘️
Boler is the way to go. Fiberglass, light weight, comfortable, and easy to maintain. There are newer versions but boler is tried and true. Another great video. Merry Christmas. 🎄
He did pretty good on that ice to me. I have tried to ice skatjng a few times and always ended up falling down, getting hurt and ending with a sprained ankle and lots of pain. Something wisely told me that I'm just too clumsy to ever try ice skating again.
Thank you for allowing us to visit and walk with you via video. It allows me to escape for 30 minutes while at lunch. If you ever come back to South Padre island again my wife and I would love to say hi!
Winter in Ohio always had to many down sides to me, so eventually in my 50's I found Thailand and the down sides for me here went down to a small percentage!
@@gregyohngy right before I read your comment, I thought, right next to all in the family, their chairs were donated to the Smithsonian. But, and there's always a big but, your right, he belongs to Canada. 😁
... no advice from me, I'm a boat guy, except that foam backed vinyl (1/4in) actually makes a fairly good insulator and remains flexible for several years. I keep looking at your stove and wonder if I could use something similar on my sailboat. The worst part would be drilling a hole in the top deck for the stove pipe - not technically but emotionally. Still, your design is amazing and I know there's a personal satisfaction when using it to cook or perk coffee, that you built the thing yourself. As always, I appreciate your photographic sense. Wonderful images ... and the stabilizer, at the end of a "selfie stick" no less, works surprisingly well. Enjoy the snow!
Probably referring to tax season. He likely needs to buy a new camper in 2019 to realize depreciation to keep his taxable income lower. He does do decently well on TH-cam and creators are considered independent contractors so he basically needs to spend money to make money.
bflo716 . I would have thought his a frame would no longer have any value on the books so to speak. Certainly here I would be unable to claim anything on tax other than maintenance costs and only if I had a registered business.Five years ownership is the maximum here for write offs.
I like your cooking slim, it is unusual and interesting but entertaining. I especially love your ammo box stove and how versatile it is. Thank you for the videos. Cheers and stay warm.
Hey Slim...LOVE your videos! Something you NEED check out..Yak Trax...They fit over your shoes or boots... they work great on ice and snow! YOU WILL NOT SLIP with these things! I'm a retired Letter Carrier, 32 years, this is what we wear to keep form sliding on ice, and they grip on snow so you get a firm feeling when you walk on slick surfaces. They come in all kinds of sizes as well as colors and last for years! Also, have you checked out R-Pods from Forest River? We've had ours for four years...they tow easy, (they are designed to be pulled with a 6 cylinder vehicle) We went camping in Yellowstone early spring...IT WAS COLD! but the R-Pod stayed nice and toasty...just a thought...you could keep your Jeep! Thank you for all your great videos!
Wonderful video..just wanted to ask.."Is that ice thick enough to skate?" Also, maybe I can send you some home cooked Shawarma directly from Kashmir,India..
Hey Slim.. I stayed for one snow storm... I love my wood burning stove and a mug of Hot Coco... but that was enough. Now I'm sitting on my Florida porch with an 80 degree breeze and some lemonade... living vicariously through you HaaHaa.. thanks for that Ice Slide.. now I'm all set. ❄🌴🏖
I don't think it was your new camera Slim' that made this video what it is... It would've been just as Spectacular, if was filmed by you in a distorted Black&White camera!!! Thanks for sharing your adventures with your soon to be retired (somewhat) lil'Abner... Recently early retired and considering the RV lifestyle. With my savings I could "live like a King," (but only) comfortably modest LoL. And with my defined pension - with the alternate cheaper RV lifestyle I could still invest, still be secure with my pension and investment interest, without touching the principal investment, selling my home!!! I do NOT want to rent it out, I want to be free!!! Great video Slim
Another great mix of topics you are so good at discussing. Wood stove, cooking, exercise outdoors, practical options for camping, and beautiful scenery set to soothing music. Thank you Slim.
No matter what the season, I love it when you "just go for a walk". With the music in the background your walks are soothing and beautiful. Best wishes on your next camper search. :-)

Hey Rockwood or Aliner, send Slim a new A-frame! It's Christmas for crying out loud!🙏🤠

Yes I've seen winterized pop-up truck campers on TH-cam somewhere
Check out Grizzly n Bear's rig on TH-cam. I think it's a pop up and they've crossed Mongolia and Russia with it.
I think a lot of people would love to see you build a camper from a van or cargo trailer. These are great for boondocking.
Summer in Canada wouldn't be much different than summer in the states, depends on where you want to go
Newfoundland. Do the Viking trail
@@truckerdaddy-akajohninqueb4793 Definitely on my list.
Being a ski patroller my family and grand kids love winter all snowboarder's and skiers your videos are fantastic
I love my country, CANADA 🇨🇦 ❤️ Can’t wait to see more of this beautiful land! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Slim.
Having a great life watching your travels
Hey Slim ... suggest you purchase a 6 by 10/12 cargo trailer and convert to a camper. For a third of the price of the Ascape you can have the same or more amount of space, same weight and a better built trailer. You could insulate it really well for the winter camping you enjoy. Cheers, Bert from Toronto
Bert, if you could do that for me it would be great! I travel, so little shore leave to build a trailer. Thanks! SP
@@SlimPotatohead You can do a basic set-up first (see Gonagain) and improve it over time. Where there is a will ...
Between the stove and the sauce they may be the best camp-life changing mod's..
@@cyndifoore7743 perfect answer! Cross country skiing is ideal for the reasons you mentioned! Thanks!!
Showing people how to be comfortable while camping during the winter is a valuable video. For fair weather folks like me, hints on keeping warm and where to go are very useful. Having fun on the ice was great! If we are too old to play, we are truly "old", IMO. I enjoyed this video, Slim.
Love the snow too. 👍👍👍☃️☃️☃️❤️ Like all 4 season's. 👍👍👍
Yes to Winter camping! I love spending days outdoors in the snow, our parents took us every Sunday to Shawnee National Forest for the entire day, rain snow or shine. It's healthy to be outdoors regularly on the Winter. Love you Slim!
The selfie stick made some fantastic shots. Love the cooking ideas - I will have to try (something with meat) like that. ;-)
Canucks make many fine quality products. Lived there for about a year. Canadians are friendly and for real.
Thanks for taking us along on your beautiful nature walk!
I am a huge fan, the way you take us through ur entire experience in every video. Stay blessed. Loads of love from India.
So when you were sliding around, I had the mental picture of when the Sioux were watching Lt. Dunbar playing with Two Socks in Dances With Wolves.
That new Ascape looked really cool and lots of mod potential. That would be a worthy upgrade indeed especially having its own shower and toilet and tv and airconditioning and stove and weighing less than 2000lbs. Really a good find.
Rockwood is known for their all season trailers.
I think your "selfie stick" worked very well. Some great footage with you using it while walking! This was an enjoyable video for me! Thanks.
Imagine an animal just walking by and seeing slim sliding in the ice lol
Time for dinner :D
Thanks Slim another wonderful video and I love different seasons too 🙂
That stove looks so nice and warm so many complain of the cold in campers and using propane
Nah my propane heater works well. Just need crack window
@@patsykluting-lucas3804 Patsy same here.
Selfie stick provides more options for us to see. Love the ice skating. Looks so fun. Beautiful scenery.
Born in Wisconsin, can't wait to never ever see, or shovel snow again. Hope in a few years to never walk on snow ever again...
Go for it. I moved to the P.N.W. almost 50 yrs ago & I loved it. at least I didn't have to shovel that shit. I was originally from the Chicago area.
Don't know why, but I really love this vid! Every time I see it in my feed, I have to watch it. Love it!!!!
Same here
Everyone of his videos I watch makes me like him more
LOL "I think I could cook grass and dirt and it would taste Sensational with this sauce" LOL Love the Vids Slim!!
Check out the “Great Ascape”. It has shower and toilet and kitchen with fridge!
Robert Wylie looks top heavy when we looked at buying one
M Ashburn.... i don’t understand your statement “top heavy”.
Great video as always my friend 👍 It's good to see you're having some fun in the winter wonderland :)
Great video, Slim. As always, thank you for keeping us informed. Enjoy the new equipment! Hope to see you on the trail some time. Happy Trails Everybody!
Merry Christmas Slim and happy travels for 2020 👍
Hi Slim, great video.
Looks like you could get some quality skating on the thicker parts of that stream. :)
How about a cargo trailer? You could build it how you would like it. I enjoy your videos.
pat cote Yep 👍
My thoughts exactly 👍
This is what I decided on. Just got a 6x10. Going to put in windows, bathroom, sink and power. Going to insulate it as well. I have no experience in converting one, but I think it will be a great learning project.
I concur!
pat cote that’s a great idea! He would have a summer project and maybe catch the Van Build in 2020.
Note that most cargo trailers are heavy and built low to the ground for stability when towing. Not great features off-road.
Of course you like Winter camping -- you're Canadian! Plus there are no bugs, yay! Bears are resting, too. I also follow Steve Wallis, he's another Canadian that camps in snow (sub zero, in a tent!)
It's nice to see you enjoying your dinner, since you once said you eat to live, not live to eat. Bet you'd like Mabu Tofu, other than finding decent Tofu on the road! Good luck with your trailer search, I await your choice with interest!
Thank you, Slim!
Something else to add to your cooking... Beef consume or beef bouillon cubes and onion powder!!! Onion soup mix.. Really awesome!
Ok
Thank you Slim, your eye for photography is great, I also love the winter.
Omg what a stunning location! Your ingenuity on fashioning things for your A Liner is amazing... you need something, you make it! Regards from Dublin, Southern Ireland 🇮🇪 ☘️☘️☘️
That stove really is extremely well thought out.
Your videos are so pleasant to watch. Thank you for taking us along!
I’m curious why you haven’t gotten into a drone, because the video footage of the areas you go into would be great.......
He is like outdoor Mr. Rogers. Love his videos.
“ASS CAPE” I laughed so hard I cried.
Boler is the way to go. Fiberglass, light weight, comfortable, and easy to maintain. There are newer versions but boler is tried and true. Another great video. Merry Christmas. 🎄
Ha..That was like watching figure skating ,Slim! 👍👍
Great video. Have a good one.
Slim isn't exactly "sugar plum" material.. but.. close enough.

Yesssss! SP time!!
Beautiful country , looks a lot like Sasquatch country ! Love that stove...................
It takes a secure man to have a pink shovel that color coordinates with his pink yard chair. :)
Renne Michaels also accent his lavender snow boots:-)
That is so no one runs off with it and you can find it in the snow.
@@carycoombe3380 :)
I like the winter as well. Its nice to see one of you all camping in the snow and not always chasing the warm.
Winter in Ohio always had to many down sides to me, so eventually in my 50's I found Thailand and the down sides for me here went down to a small percentage!
Slim, I love it when you just chill and go for a walk. Your eye for the beauty of nature is what keeps me watching. You're zen.
"Abner" should be donated to the Smithsonian!
I second that motion....😊
Ditto.
What do you mean, "I'm running out of time"? As usual, loved the video and how your sense of humor peeks out.
Conncats 3 . I was wondering the same . Perhaps the old a frame has nearly completely had its day.
I think he meant running out of time for the time left on the aliner before he needs something else.
I like your cooking slim, it is unusual and interesting but entertaining. I especially love your ammo box stove and how versatile it is. Thank you for the videos.
Cheers and stay warm.
Hello, may I ask how " slim potatoehead" came about? My wife is curious.
thats his real name
Country Creek Clips i asked him too but got no reply. 😔
I asked him that question. He said the story behind his name is not that interesting, but that he might share it someday. :-)
Yeah. I was curious about the "Potatohead" part... At first I thought he might be from Prince Edward Island.
Welll.....He's slim and we all know how he feels about potatoes
Wonderful video..just wanted to ask.."Is that ice thick enough to skate?"
Also, maybe I can send you some home cooked Shawarma directly from Kashmir,India..
Bhaaaaaiiiii
Someone just send him some kashmiri chilly powder and chaat masala, blow how mind
