    Welcome back! Google is your friend when it comes to getting to the pinion. Assuming they didn't do anything different to the other 3s models you can get to it with removal of 1 screw on the bottom, pull out the red block and then pull the assembly up. CCxRC has a video on a Typhon I think showing how it works

    • @TheRCScotsman

      Thanks! Yeah, I'll check it out. I was just in no condition to do it there and then!

    To get to the pinion you remove the motor module by removing 1 screw on the bottom and pulling out the red latch next to the motor. Then remove the driveshaft. Then pulling on the bit that says PULL in big bold letters and slide the motor out. It is VERY stiff to start with so wait for your injection side effects to ware of first

    Ahhh, you're scaring me, I'm getting my second shot tomorrow, ha ha! Offshore, I remember when I worked offshore, I kept buying Scalectrix, no RC's at that stage, but at least I caught up on that... Looks cool with those bigger tyres, I'm looking forward to see your running video, I assume you got some weeks onshore now, recover from the jab and then shoot lots of RC footage, ha ha!

    • @TheRCScotsman

      Scalextrics are great. I've always considered dabbling, but RC already costs me too much!

    Looks better now. I think the standard tyres are belted while is why they are so hard

    • @TheRCScotsman

      It certainly does. Hmm... that's a possibility. They suck, either way!

    17t might be too much also. Depends how hard you bash and ambient Temps of course. On my typhon after putting MX28s I had to go with a 13t pinion. Bashing in 85+ degree weather was causing it to overheat but I bash quite hard 😅

    • @TheRCScotsman

      Going to get intouch with arrma apprently I've heard they have extended to warranty on the electrics in the vorteks turns out it is common and I had just put a 16t pinion in as the last few runs the motor and esc was very hot

      It ran well, but yes, there was some rubbing. Going to look into hex extenders. See if I can cure it.

    Be wary of the plastic diffs i stripped about 7 then i gave up and sold the shit box and got a 6s typhon

    • @TheRCScotsman
      @TheRCScotsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Will do. Thanks for the warning!

    • @RUZTY1311
      @RUZTY1311 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The plastic diffs can be a pain in the arse! If you bash hard, and if you land under throttle or nose dive your chances are high to strip one. I went with a metal input and diff ring gear on my 3s rigs. But also be wary of the plastic diff yokes! They warp over time and cause binding which strips them faster. Keep an eye on grease also. I usually check the grease once every couple months. Check for diff fluid also 👍

      But the wheels/tyres do scrub the body.

    @caydenscott1462 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I get a site to the wheels you bought

  • @onlucho
    @onlucho 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I bet now you are rubbing the body with the wheels, I replaced arms and links with Typhon 3s ones, to get a wider stance, and converted to 17mm also, so now my Vorteks is wider and no more issues with loosing wheel nuts.

    • @TheRCScotsman
      @TheRCScotsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah right, well we'll have a go and see what happens. If rubbing is an issue, I'll look into sorting it. Thanks!
