Great choice! Great bike ! Simple works. Actually went to Millenium MCs myself yesterday to look at a chrome GT, ( gone ). But found that the Interceptor is a more comfortable position. You won’t be able to resist putting stuff on it though, and cheaply, to make it yours. Nice one !
Really enjoying the bike. More each time I ride it. Bought it as a cheap(ish) 2nd bike, but find it's now my first choice. Yes, getting a few things to make it mine (be rude not too!). Parts are reasonably priced but, as usual, it soon adds up. Bike feels like a keeper. 👍👍
So happy for you, I know the feeling, traded my CB500X in for a Tiger Sport 660 last week. First time on a British bike, loving it. That blue is gorgeous.
Congratulations on the new bike!..I’ve not seen that Barcelona blue before, pero el es muy guapo!…I love that cross brace on the bar too, that really works I reckon 👌…rsmf, Mark
Nice bike and a great price at the moment. I especially like the idea of tubeless tyres as I have a 411 Himalayan and getting a puncture is a real faff
Is that mesh seat cover to prevent sweaty arse? I saw Mr Fish appears to have one on his new NX. Beautiful bike, great choice of styling, looks every inch the 70s roadster.
Lovely bike. I ended up swapping to a 350 Classic as I found the 650 almost too good! I was after a modern version of the sort of bike my dad grew up riding!
Great first ride video, 5 years ago i too test rode Norton Commando 961 Union jack paint limited edition was for almost £ 22k ,but instead went for the interceptor 650 for just £ 3K , I felt it was almost 75% of what Norton offers for 1/7 th the price.5 years up with no problems. Norton is not a practical daily ride plus all the expensive maintenance which comes with it ,with far lesser service network. Just yesterday i test rode the BSA 650 goldstar and was completely disappointed ,character nowhere close to Interceptor 650 feels like a very generic motorcycle, more engine clatter rather than character. The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 /Bullet 350 have a lot more character and feel good factor for a single.Ride safe Cheers
Totally agree. For the price it's as authentic as it gets. Took me right back to 1979 when I first ventured out onto the roads on 2 wheels. But with, fingers crossed, modern reliability. Well proven also by early adopters, such as yourself - cheers 👍👍
@CodgerBiker Great to know that Interceptor took you back in time ,that's a good sign isn't it ,that's why we all ride for some nostalgia taking you back to good old times and memories especially the Retro Classic motorcycles. That's what the all the air cooled Norton, Interceptor, Kawasaki W800 ,Moto Guzzi , Classic 350s do to you. Another good news I wanted to share with you that TVS the parent company of Norton in India are planning to manufacture mid capacity affordable motorcycles in the Interceptor price range by 2025 from India plant ,so hoping our next motorcycle could be a Norton fingers crossed 🤞 if things go right,Ride Safe Cheers
Hey that is GOOD news. An affordable Norton. As I remember the Commando was not excessively expensive back in the 70s. I was too young for one of those but a lad a few years older than us brought one into school one day. I’ve always wanted one. However, the Interceptor ticks every box as far as I can see so far. So no hurry. I particularly like the 70s vibe of this Barcelona Blue version. I enjoy any motorbike, always have. This one has really got under my skin 👍👍
@CodgerBiker You're absolutely right the Commando 750s are just amazing hope they try and bring the same design back with as much character and charm with no frills as Interceptor is that's all we ask for no high end electronics and tech.I guess Norton Combat name has been already registered and they want to launch 6 new products within 3 years. No doubt Interceptor is awesome and my favorite color is the Barcelona blue too which I may change my fuel tank to from the silver.Cheers
The more the merrier. I still think 750 is THE sweetspot for a motorbike. Thanks for letting me know, I had not heard of proposed Indian Nortons. So, as you say, it might still happen for us one day. Thanks for watching/commenting. 1st service due, I'll post an update. 👍👍
When I picked up my Continental GT last year I almost took it back ‘cos it said 211 miles on the Odometer. Turned out to be 21.1! Must be an age thing…
Ha ha! Exactly. I was all for taking it back. Stopped and fiddled with the mile/km thing. But still it was going up by 4 or 5 miles a minute... finally, after a panic it dawned on me: tenths! Glad it's not just me! 😂😉👍👍
Tbh I agree with your thinking about the Norton. It’s no way worth £10k more. You could put £500 into your Interceptor and make a difference with new shocks & front springs or just leave it as it is. Harris did the frame didn’t they, at no more. I’ve ridden the Interceptor, a friend had one. For the money a great purchase and the engine is a peach. Unlike the clattery bag-o-spanners in the Norton. Also, noise is a subjective thing and riding through villages with a noisy arsed bike is pretty obnoxious really. I bet your Interceptor will be more reliable aswell.
I enjoyed the Norton. It is ‘more’ bike. But not my Honda NT1100 + £6000 ‘more’. If money was no object then both. Main thing is I am happy with my final choice. And, unlike the Norton demo I tried, the head bearings aren’t loose! Thanks for watching/comment. Appreciated 👍
Yes, I think the Nortons seem way overpriced. Appreciate they are madein the UK, but from a price perspective, you can understand why most machines are made abroad
I think the Royal Enfield more emulates what we were after in the 1970's and early 1980's than either of the rest of the retro bikes
I agree. Hopefully with modern reliability 🤞

Lovely looking bike, can't argue with your logic for choosing it, health to enjoy Codger..👍
Cheers. Logic, and heart 👍👍

That blue is gorgeous.
Cheers and congrats. New bike is the best therapy! 👍👍
Quote "not even that sandwich I had in Prague" 🤣🤣🤣

Cheers. Yes I REALLY like it too. More so than I'd imagined. Guapo indeed! 👍👍

I like the 411 also. I think it is better than the new one. 👍👍
Sweet,✌
Cheers! 👍👍

Beautiful bike, great choice of styling, looks every inch the 70s roadster.
Ha ha! Yes partly, but also stops my leather jeans slipping and is a bit of comfort. Cheers, loving it 👍👍

I almost went with a Hunter. But wanted the twin clocks. Too much choice. 👍

DNA Filter and a Red Rooster Exhaust. 👌
No doubt, in time... 👍

Daresbury church at the end of the video?

Did you buy it from Millennium motorcycles?
MotogbDotcoDotuk
Hi, that cross bar in the handlebar is removable? Thanks
It's fine, I like it. 👍 But I guess easily removed.
Good choice mate. I like the colour and it sounds great!
Cheers. Though today you are closer to Barcelona than me! 😉 13! 👍👍
@@CodgerBiker And yet, possibly further away from a Miguel 🤔😂
🤠

I think that is true. UK labour costs very high. In an ideal world I’d have both 😉👍👍
