great work! btw, with the curly (hook) part of the cable, you can try using a hair dryer or a hot air gun to soften it and then straighten it. just don't melt the entire thing...
Great tutorial, thanks for the clear instructions! However, I think the red cable from the MMCX connector goes to the right pad on both phones. I think that is the central pin, which should go where the colored ones were from the original cable.
Great thanks for the video my dude! Wanted to do this a couple years ago, but didnt know how, now I'm looking for headphones again and was thinking I should just get another pair of Porta Pros. Only thing stopping me was the cable. I greatly appreciate your video! Edit2: oh also! How long did it take for those to ship out of China?
Thanks for the comment! The cable kit took about two weeks to arrive. I highly recommend the Koss KPH40 over the Porta Pros. It’s got a detachable cable and somehow even better sound quality!
@@iamalexsun I would but I need something I know is gonna be relatively hardy+cheap. I'm incredibly rough on my headphones, to the point that most don't last 6 months. I've had a pair of Koss Porta-Pros before and they lasted at least over a year, even with me yanking on the cable a bunch. Eventually a driver went bad, though, so I got a different pair of headphones. I really just need a consistent backup right now that can survive the occasional rollover I might do to them while I sleep. X3 Nice bike btw
This is honestly the best tutorial out there for this mod. Thanks man
@@yis9259 Thank you! I’m glad it helped!
Lol, I am planning to have the same setup of Ipod+koss, here I thought I was the only one with this Ingenious idea
great work!

Thanks for the tip!
Why don't Koss just update the design of all their headphones with connectors like this, it boggles the mind.
