#8 isn't a mistake, its a habit developed from pourover newbies who find pouring technique hard with a single hand. I guess they don't hold it so that the lid falls down, holding there gives better balance for the pour especially when you are starting out. I may be wrong

? If put your hands on the filter your oils are on the outside of the filter, also a rinse would wash away any oils. That is like a microscopic technicality that you cannot prove makes it a problem, lol.

Hello Mithilesh.. Can you explain the difference in using a v60 as an equipment vs the french press. I understand the contact time variable, but what I’d like to know more, is why don’t we see french press as much as a v60 in specialty coffee videos ? Isn’t it a more widely used means for a daily cup at homes ?

The French press is a type of immersion brew method where as the V60 is a type of percolation method. The latter produces a cleaner cup which doesn’t contain much sentiments ideal for a speciality coffee as one can taste the origin characteristics. Although cupping is a form of immersion methods as well that is used to identify the quality and taste notes for the coffee.

French press is seen more in homes because it’s a relatively forgiving method with doesn’t involve too many equipments. On the other hand, The V60 or any pour over method requires a good technique and understanding of the variables to make a decent cup.

      Lionel just summarised it all.
let me add another point let me add.
The V-60 is a conversation starter (speaking from a cafe service pov) French press is like nothing is happening as such you know.
