I'm really likibg that M240i. I found the F80 M3 was a little too big and I prefer the shorter/tighter cabin space of the 240. Some good runs there. Going to a high torque file made a huge difference but I can only run 93 pump gas in the area where I am. I think I'd be even faster to 60 if I ran e
M240i is a solid value, but I prefer the size and proportions better in the last F generation! This one got a bit big for a 2 series two door coupe imo!!
Good races. Once you get a TCU tune, R will blow the M240i out of the water. You may want to look into a larger intercooler. Wi will help with more power and heat soak.
Colder air is more dense, so it will pack a little more air into the cylinders. It will produce a little more power and more consistently, especially when ambient temperature is above 90 F. The extra power is nominal, but it's there. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineerig. Trust me, in high ambient temperature, it will be very noticeable.
I just flashed the 034 stage 1 for full corn juice and it's a game changer. I was so nervous filling up with E. I actually tested the E85 at the pump and it actually came up E90. I'm in Norcal, just above the bay. 034 is awesome for making E85 tunes for these cars. Hats off to them. Btw, you should get an intercooler. It's a pain to do, so pay someone experienced to do it.✌️
@@RDriver2.0Ever go to any meets or hear of any? The only cars and coffee we have is every second Saturday at Journeys coffee in Fairfield. But I've never been.
Great runs, the newer mk8 continues to surprise me. I feel like this m240i isn’t the best illustration of its capabilities being on a race chip. Bm3/MHD give significant better gains.
Both are even. So the question for me is which one is the more practical car? The Golf R has 4 doors, but the back seat room is pretty small (I own a MK7 GTI and nobody sits in the back because there barely any space as we all are over 6 feet tall). Which one gets better mpg’s?
pretty close races,i assume he still has the limiter, if so it would be cool to see it race without it having that limiter at 127 I assume its because of the tires.
Not an issue. The stock turbo and engine can withstand quite a bit of power even on a high tq file. I'm running an IE stage 2 high tq file on 93 with a TCU tune snd supporting mods and this car is a real sleeper lol... no issues with the reliability of the IS38...
Keep in mind, this is RWD, 91 octane, and 2500 elevation with a 4,000+ DA. It’s gonna be very hard to get the magazine quoted times given the conditions
@@JVette01 Yeah, the altitude would definitely take a toll on times, have no idea what DA is though. Not sure I would want that car without Xdrive, mine's tail happy enough with it.
Following on from my last comment sorry dont usually double comment , at these outputs the BMW will last 10 times longer mechanically than the Golf with that puney little 2.0 engine stressed to the max

TVS is releasing a DSG tune in a couple of weeks for the newer mk8s that haven't been cracked yet

Thanks for the tip
Thr Intercooler does not give more power. Just prevents heat soak and is a must to keep the engine cool. I prefer a top mount over front IMO..

You can tell the r was heat soak

Id recommend getting an Intercooler. Downpipe and intake dont do much for Mk8. Hows the mk8 on full e85? Worse mileage? Id assume.
Yes. Gas mileage is about 5mpg less than it would be on normal gas

I get 16.6 if i drive heavy if i drive normal 20+
Do you think the tcu tune will be unlocked eventually? I have a 24 GTI and getting nervous.
Probably eventually but who knows how long

yeah i agree. one day he'll remove it haha
Are you worried about damage to the transmission running the high torque ECU tune while being on a stock TCU file?
I was a little but tbh it’s probably fine. Won’t be an issue anymore though, stay tuned for my new videos

Idk if you’re referring to an older golf r, but the new mk8 has a continental turbo, not is38 anymore

That golf is no joke from a dig and now a roll ?!!! Sheeesh
Drive a rs3. They are no joke. Destroys a golf r.
@davothegreat9990 not a stock one vs mine on e85. Stay tuned for future videos
@@JVette01 I've been in both. But in a mk7 r not mk8. Rs3 is so brutal from a dig.
Tune only? No supporting mods? Great power man!
Correct. Tune only :)
@@JVette01 Seems like there was some heatsoak after the first run. Intercooler and intake would definitely help a ton if you planned on doing more.
@@JVette01- you'll need hardware of your wanna upgrade that tune son but you probably already knew that...😁
Have you done a Dragy run on the E85 tune Golf R yet?
I have but it’s been so hot in this part of Mexico 100+ degrees that it’s not a good representation of what it would be able to do
@JVette01 DA can be corrected. But, I'm thinking it should be close to 11.8 with good DA. Dragtimes website has a good DA calculator under tools.
I thought the 23 m240i was only available with awd
The 2022 was. For 2023, there’s an option
12.5 quarter mile and 4.4 0-60 is slower than a stock M240i. Must have been heat soaked.

The perfect match..💪💪awesome race 😂
How far off an rs3 do you think youll be when the tcu comes out?
It’s faster than an rs3 right now with no tcu tune
@JVette01 e85 must give the r alot more performance. Cos the rs3 is quicker car by a huge margin.
He needs to switch over to jb4, he will literally get 30 percent power gains over that race chip.
that r needed a tcu tune
Yes
I think a 2021-2023 tesla model 3 performance could beat both in a roll race
Even if it could, no one cares. I look at electric cars the same way I look at motorcycles.. couldn’t care less if they beat me
But you need to tune the Golf to get anywhere near the BMW its rubbish really
I think you’re failing to understand the fact that the bmw is not stock. E30 mix gas and a racechip tune
Rubbish? Lol. Like you know what is going on here. Pay attention lol

False. The 2.0 is very stout and holds up to a decent bit of power. However, the B58 does have much higher limits.
