I can give some updates on this machine, I bought it and have been using it nonstop for two months, I used to do a lot of heavy lifting back in the day when I was younger, now I am 43 and was getting injured too easily to the point where I just abandoned weights altogether and focused on running for a few years, then saw this machine and decided to give some type of strength training a second shot.
1st. As said, no eccentric at all, this can be a good or a bad thing for you, it still provides decent strength training but it wont be optimal, it makes it harder to get injured, not having to control the weight on the way back makes you less prone to mess something up, I haven't pulled any muscles in two months, no pain other than the good kind of pain but the reality is that no eccentric means you are missing a very important part of muscle building if that's exactly what you are interested in.
2nd. Resistance is all over the place, forget about lbs because it's very different between the top, middle, and low cables. top cables are way too easy if you want to do chest or back with them, even if you walk as far back as you can, you will still have a relatively easy time doing them if you've ever lifted heavy stuff before, but you can make it tougher, go as far back as you can and get on your knees, that increases the distance for the cable and makes things harder, when doing smaller muscles like biceps or triceps it's more effective.
The middle cables are a bit tougher, and better suited for everything, if you walk as much as you can and do chest presses you'll feel it a bit more, for flys it will be good, for "baseball bat" type movements it's really good.
The low cables are harder, especially if you attach them to the forward pulleys, things like squats, biceps, triceps, or the same "baseball bat" exercise but from bottom to top will be quite the workout for your chest. In other words, if you want resistance, try to incorporate the lower cables as much as you can and add the extra pulleys, you will have more than enough resistance for most of what you want to do.
3rd. Not only have they not updated the workouts in forever (all instructors use the old cst machine, and not one has the one with the mirror) but some workouts flat out don't work, it's not my connection or the tablet, you check the reviews of the workout and the last twenty or so reviewers complain that the workout doesn't work, good luck getting iFit to do something about it.
As expected the included tablet is garbage, it will work but it's slow and not very reliable but it gets the work done, for someone like me who doesn't own another Android tablet it's fine but if you own a better Android tablet, use that, the specialized app for this machine is not available in iOS for some reason, I do not understand the need for a different app for this, I think that just makes it harder for iFit to concentrate their efforts in both apps, which is why we have one that feels outdated and forgotten.
The workouts themselves though, once they load, are pretty good, what I've been doing that has been working out well for me, is doing strength-based training Monday through Thursday, focusing on different muscles each day much like you would at a gym, trying to up the resistance to the maximum, yes the lack of eccentric sucks but at the same time it allows me to go harder than I would normally do at a gym, reminds me of a guy that used to train me back in 2005, he was a rugby player and he never mentioned "eccentric" once, he was all about "GO GO GO GO, EXPLOSIVE." dude wanted to make you throw up while still adding a LOT of weight to the exercises, I got big in record time but every training session made me want to throw up. A year later the guy moved back to new Zealand and the guy I trained with was a bodybuilder type, he was all about technique, I didn't sweat like I did before, very different approach. This machine reminds me of the new Zeland guy.
Then on friday and saturday I do either cardio based workouts or "total body" type work outs but focus less on resistance and more on the movement, trying to let the muscles rest a little bit, I don't do anything on sunday then repeat.
This type of training has been showing results, I've been noting some changes, my chest is growing and some shirts are a little bit tighter on the sleeves but not nearly as much as they would be if I were hitting dumbells and barbells every day.
All in all, it is a very good machine with some limitations. I recommend it as long as you know what you're getting into.

Thanks dude thanks for the in-depth analysis of your experience with this. Glad to see that it is working for you, and I feel you on exactly where you’re at in life, I just can’t keep up with the weights like I used to be able to 😞

I love that it's geared towards fat loss and you can engage muscle without having to hoard all those unsightly weights

I have 2 bikes that I am interested in that are on amazon and wonder if you know anything about them or planning on reviewing them. One is the YESOULand the other in MOBIFITNESS. I believe they may be new to the market.

Just found your channel. I have 2 suggestions. 1. The Yosuda in your video is the old one, they've got a mag resistance version too. Also I have not see the Yesoul bike at all. As someone that thinks spending thousands on a static bike is ridiculous, at least for me, most of my research was in getting the best for less than $500. I ended up buying the Yesoul because it seems like a great option they even got a similar app from the peloton. Also would hate the idea o my bike being only usable with a subscription.

Its a bit more user friendly than Tonal - meaning you can move it yourself. But the $40/mo membership is a bt too much especially if you are carrying other memberships.

its only $15 for a single membership and they usually have a 1 year for $100 which I received so less than $10/month they just need to update their library more than once a decade 😁

@@KrackerJack5586 I bought a door gym for about $100 and it comes with cards to build your own workout. Add a door thing for resistance bands and you have zero monthly fee.
