😂 I remember I couldn’t stand you and RTC when I was a kid, you obviously were a great heel. Just recently bought a gym monster because of your deep dive reviews. So far I love it, thanks Stevie
I have the Speediance gym monster and I am not new to lifting with free weights , bands or smart gyms, so I am experienced in my opinion on the Speediance. I don’t like and never liked the Bluetooth Ring , I consider it a safety hazard, what ever way I wear it or what ever setting I have it on I always end up bumping it and the weight changes. The Bluetooth Handles are a lot better and should be an option for owners if they want to buy them if they were available. I don’t like the software in the free lift mode because it only tracks the weight and total reps, that’s it. Other smart gyms that I have had they all had in their free lift mode the tracking of the exercise movement , the weight per rep , all the reps per set and the total amount of sets and total weight lifted and it was saved for the user to see the next work out.
Great points and I aggree about the ring. Way too many accidental taps, turning on the resistance when you don't want to do so. Free lift mode seems limited and I hate that it stops the timer when the resistance is disengaged. Free lift should be completely open with just start/stop. The good part about software is the ability to add those features you pointed out. I hope Speediance sees comments like yours and improves.
I was told that months ago and that they were supposed to have come out in April but they never did. I haven’t heard anymore about the smart handles. The machine itself is good but the accessories suck, all cheaply made.
I use my Tonal for the quality of coaching, and the abundance of exercise options. I’m not a self starter so the programs they offer is a prime incentive. If I was comfortable with a gym membership and personal trainer, I might go that route, however that would be more expensive than my $60/mo Tonal membership and a PITA to use.. I bought mine used and set it up myself, so I’m into it for less than 1/2 price, and even less than the Expedience so if I want to quit, I’d probably break even cost-wise. Each to his own, but I’m very pleased with the Tonal.
Thanks for the detailed comment. I admire the technology of the Tonal and realize they were first to market with the equipment. All the other products would not exist at the rapid rate they are without Tonal’s technology. Tonal, Speediance and any other equipment is a tool. It’s all in how much use/value/results the user gets out of it. It’s great that you have enough awareness to know that a product like Tonal is that tool which helps you achieve your goals. Keep it up.
I owned two Gym Monsters, first one was defective, took about 3 weeks to replace. Second was fine but after a few months I sold it. Too many limitations in the design, especially if you're tall and I saw too many hassles that owners whose machine broke had to put up with to get theirs fixed. Also, if you have to crack open the motor/fan housing to repair something it's a PITA. At some point you'll need to do it when the cables need replacing. After I sold mine I was just relieved I didn't have to worry about any of this. I replaced mine with a REP PR-5000 rack and their new Ares 2.0 cable system but I was also considering that Force USA C10. And that C10 sliding bench is crazy. I think there's a way I can get it to work with my REP system and if so that bench will become really popular in the home gym community.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Gym Monster. There’s something to be said for off grid fitness products. The tech is nice at times, but we are also mindful that, living in Florida, the power can be disrupted by storms. We made sure to always have fitness equipment that doesn’t need any power.
It's cool, I just wish they would give more than just 2 years of warranty, it really should be 4 years for normal usage. It's an expensive machine and 2 year is nothing for a fitness machine.

Thanks for hating me back in the day lol.
The Gym Monster is a great piece of equipment. Congrats and thanks for watching the videos.
That thing is a beast…. Very cool machine…

Speediance has already said they are working on upgraded smart handles. The old smart handles disconnected a lot. And they ate through batteries.

You can change the ring to double click to activate, which makes it WAY safer.
Bluetooth ring is awesome and very functional. I don't have problems with it
Fully assembled is a great selling point!
It’s a relief lol.
Keep up the great work on your channel.
“Tonal, you cry every 30 days” hahahaha
I’m leaning towards the speediance, I just wish it had articulating arms
I wanted like this video twice - once for the content and twice for the Shockmaster 😁

I was a few seconds in and I was like ‘hey he looks like……it is, stevie Richard’s!!’ 😂
GET A VITRUVIAN TRAINER+!!!
More resistance. More smoother. More safer. More portable. Better accessories. Better built.
I’m definitely planning on check that out. Thanks.
