*Slaps hood* "You can fit SO many tarantulas in this baby." Honestly, as a mechanic, I think you will greatly enjoy learning how vehicles work. You have the mind of a tinkerer, and this is the perfect type of thing to stimulate it. It can sometimes be frustrating, but there is no better feeling than finally finishing the project that was giving you a problem and driving away. And by the way, many of us Americans still prefer manual transmissions.
I really like the bonus video on Fridays. As for Petcos auto repair videos, the more the better. I think alot of DarkDen subscribers like myself will be watching. Keep up the good work and best wishes from northern Indiana.
Man, I can't wait for this series!! I'm glad you're finding new things to keep you busy and happy. Don't forget this series please!! Keep us updated on this beauty.
The Lada Niva is a classic. a lot of Hunters in Germany drive them. They have a problem with rust and the engine is kinda underpowerd BUT its still one of the best offroad cars ever Made. Simple yet Working soviet technology.
Awww man as much as I love the dark den stuff I’m actually excited to see you give this a makeover. As someone from the uk lada hasn’t been here in years and never this thing
Honestly I don't really mind what kind of bonus videos you put out, your enthusiasm and happiness from whatever you do makes all videos 10/10! Can't wait to see your journey with this new project :)
Wow! You know so much about so much. I wish I had some of your skills! My house was built in 1948, I have a whole list of projects, but unfortunately not the know how and not the time. Although I have tackled several. Usually, when I get far enough in that I'm pretty committed I find myself wondering "What was I thinking!!?!?". 🤣 This is gonna be so much fun to watch! Congrats on your new vehicle/project! Yay!!!
I absolutely love the excitement you have and portray through the whole video/review. It genuinely made me excited about it too! Awesome little project, good luck 🤞 💜🍀
I am an automotive tech here in the states, this cars SWEET! I'm excited to watch you learn with this rig! PS battery light on is likely an alternator or if applicable, voltage regulator good luck buddy!
I'm an American and I absolutely hate that I have to drive automatic cars most of the time lol my dad taught me how to drive in a manual and I love it also a mechanic here too and very excited to watching you learn this new skill!
I like how this video show something completely different and new for this channel while still fitting the general theme. Good luck with working on that oldie :)
That actually started pretty well. The little odds and ends that need fixed? Well that's the fun part of it lol. I find it insanely satisfying working on and fixing a vehicle. Cheap obtainable parts with few electrical components makes a great choice for a learning experience
Hey hey! I’m a mechanic here in America and I also love going off road with my truck! And all the stuff that’s wrong with your SWEET new ride is perfect for beginners. Doing research and watching some good ol TH-cam videos is the perfect way to learn, just follow everything step by step and with your common sense and building ability I have 100% faith you can do all those things
Very cool little ride 😎 👌It's strange to see a spare tire on the engine!😂 How many cylinders? Very cool Lada my friend! I would like more videos of you working on your ride. Thanks for the sweet video! 😊
First lesson: its called a crank shaft. The drive shaft runs under the vehicle between the transmission and rear end differential. The next lesson will cost you tho ( im kidding). But for real im excited for this. The only channels I watch on youtube are tarantula related or car related, so this will be really cool to see both of my favorite subjects on one channel! Keep up the good work, love your content!!
I think your thirst for knowledge and learning knew things is what attracts me to your videos, Im much the same. Im so scared of spiders and bugs but to watch someone so passionate makes them less scary to me. Excited to see the progress on your 4X4 ! Its a cool looking vehicle! Love from the UK 🇬🇧 💙
I too love maintaining my vehicles. Can’t wait to see your updates. TH-cam will be a great tool when you need help. I took my 2004 F150 all the way down to the engine block to replace some seals and did it by watching TH-cam with no help from anyone. Good luck!!!
You need to put bigger tires on her and get a big roof rack so you can haul stumps and logs up there . Absolutely love it and can’t wait for more videos on this beautiful piece of machinery
Hi Man, Considered to buy one too but then went for a Subaru Forrester. Check the car for corrosion frequently. They rust quite bad. Make sure to use loads of corrosion protection oil.
Ya know what? More Petko shenanigans is exactly what I need so thank you for also daring to do something out of your usual content. Can't wait to see you learn a bunch of new stuff along the way!
New channel: The Car Den 😁 Reminds me of my old 1979 VW Beetle, I had a lot of fun driving it. Of course it was high maintenance, with things breaking every month or so, but I have fond memories of that particular car. Have lots of fun with this one!
I actually really love this vehicle. I would have it painted or wrapped in camo and have the inside all Army green. Can't wait for more videos of this beauty.
I wish I could get a Lada Niva so easily, and more importantly, so cheaply! But no such luck here in the US. Looking forward to see what you do with it!
Overlander tip, invest in some good all terrain tires & some recovery gear if you plan to venture off into the woods. If I were running a Lada for any off roading I would invest in a come along & some recovery/traction boards at least just in case. I've not seen many Lada 4x4 but I have seen a few sweet builds over the years.
Speaking of skate boarding, try land paddling! Its like Stand Up Paddling that you do on the ocean but you can do land paddling any where, fun and many tricks not done yet ;)
Sounds like you have the right vehicle for a novice DIYer. All mechanical, and parts cheap and available. Don't most fellas secretly want a project car. Looking forward to the content.
I'm totally not a car person (even tho I'm an Aussie and it's almost an unwritten law one should be a rev-head here lol) BUT I'm very excited to see your progress with your new wheels!! Hopefully not too many issues that eat into your time/budget.. but hopefully enough issues to allow you to really get your hands dirty and learn a bunch of stuff!!
I wonder and hope if this means potentially a possible return of the Nature Adventure videos and I can’t wait to learn from mechanic Petko about vehicles cause my car got ruined this past year and I’ve been trying to fix it and no success but I can’t wait for some help from Petko in mechanical videos so stoked and excited, love your videos Petko, love from Oklahoma
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON Avicularia Avicularia!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 she/he is my first ever! I’ve only started this hobby last week!! I’m super excited about this! 🎀 THANK YOU FOR ALL THE VIDEOS!
Surprisingly good body condition. Consider doing some anti corrosion work if you want to preserve the car for some time. Ladas usually rust like hell! Will be fun to see you struggling with it🤣🤣
Since your going to be doing all the work on it anyways! I’ve got a fun idea to fix/assist your battery problem! Just add a solar panel ontop of the car and hook it up! Idk could be fun 😂
No doubt the car was overheating because the same belt which is for the alternator also runs the water pump. I have always wanted one of these but living in the US, they are very hard to find and if you do find one, very expensive too.
Whats going on? Like almost everyone l'm subscribed to lately has a auto project on their channel.... AWESOME! :D Love these kinds of projects. Can't wait to follow this one as well!
It's kinda crazy to imagine a place where 4×4s aren't super common and can't be readily found for pretty much every price range, being from the upper Midwest in the US where probably half the people I know drive a truck or SUV🤔😅 You're gonna have so much fun with it! Can't wait to see what adventures you go on!

Thanks! It is good to see that there are mechanics watching. I'll just ask in the videos when I need some advice :'D
As a Brit, I'm with you on the manual transmission!
Agreed. My daily driver is an automatic, however, I do have a car in my garage with a manual transmission . It's my weekend ride.
@@iitzfizz as a brit myself I have to agree with you manual all the way
I'm a mechanic from Canada and I'm really going to enjoy this new series of videos. Can't wait to learn more about this quirky machine!
Looks epic!
Hello fellow Canadian! From Ontario, Canada.
This is actually a really cool idea for your bonus videos. I don't even care about cars and whatnot, but this should be a fun watch.
I really like the bonus video on Fridays. As for Petcos auto repair videos, the more the better. I think alot of DarkDen subscribers like myself will be watching. Keep up the good work and best wishes from northern Indiana.
I love your videos and will really enjoy these videos about cars ❤️
Man, I can't wait for this series!! I'm glad you're finding new things to keep you busy and happy.
Don't forget this series please!! Keep us updated on this beauty.
Love the reference to Doug! Hope all goes well with the new 4x4!

Great job Petko! I think your new car will be an excellent project! I've never heard of this car but I was born in 1977 so I like it!
Petko, you did make me laugh but I like to see your enthusiasm for something new. Looking forward to seeing your progress on it.
OMG! You are so right about the front lights, totally a surprised face and really cute lol
Wow! You know so much about so much. I wish I had some of your skills! My house was built in 1948, I have a whole list of projects, but unfortunately not the know how and not the time. You are like a kid with a new toy! Your enthusiasm is endearing. Look forward to watching this story play out!
I'm an American and I absolutely hate that I have to drive automatic cars most of the time lol my dad taught me how to drive in a manual and I love it also a mechanic here too and very excited to watching you learn this new skill!
That's a cool little 4x4 your going to have some great fun driving her around, I'm looking forward to seeing the restoration and the offroading.
I like how this video show something completely different and new for this channel while still fitting the general theme. Good luck with working on that oldie :)
This mkes me soooo fkn happy! Happy to have ya in the 4x4 community Petco!
Love the techno music during the walk around of your 4X4 and the cars surprised look!
Nice ride! Do you have an ID for the song at 0:50? Love all your videos!
Crankshaft drives via belt the alternator and water pump. Great little machine!!! Simple and small is perfect. Wish I owned one!!!
That actually started pretty well. The little odds and ends that need fixed? Well that's the fun part of it lol. I find it insanely satisfying working on and fixing a vehicle. Cheap obtainable parts with few electrical components makes a great choice for a learning experience
So great to see you being so happy about the car :D It´s realy a good offroadcar! Gratz
Looks like fun, nothing like a project car,
Good luck have fun!!!🚙🚙

Love it! My wife is Croatian I had a green one over there. I loved it!
1:01 the music fits well!!
My Dad had one, but a 90 something. 80 hp, and very heavy! Most if my memories are digging it out if sand, mud, and snow.
Sweet ride, Ladas have never been common in Canada, have always thought the Nivia was a cool little 4x4. The European Suzuki samari.
Cant wait to see updates and upgrades to it! From its current state to a new improved one
Very cool little ride 😎 👌It's strange to see a spare tire on the engine!😂 How many cylinders? Very cool Lada my friend! I would like more videos of you working on your ride. Thanks for the sweet video! 😊
Haha yeah, It's a 4 cylinder engine of course xD
5:28 well yes but the lada niva only has central locking differentials which means front 50% and back 50% power output and so this can still happen

Great car dude! I’m hyped - it will be awesome
nice touch with the music, really put a smile on my face. :)
I’m excited!
I know I've said it before, but Petko, you are so damn likable! Can't wait to see how you fix up your Lada!

Love the look of the new buggy, never seen that here in Canada
I watched all videos so bring them on and I will watch them. Good Luck with your new car/SUV!
That lada is super awesome!!! I would not drive it at all without the water pump belt. It can blow the head gasket very easily if it overheats
New channel: The Car Den 😁

Oh yes, I'd love to fix up the old Lada with you. That would be fun. Learning new stuff. Sounds great to me👏👏👏
Lada? This gets the Boris seal of approval for sure, especially in combination with the hardstyle music! 😁
I absolutely am in LOVE with that car. Also, Americans have stick shift (manual transmission) vehicles lol. I still drive manual to this day.
Im looking forward to this series
You’re a cool dude! I enjoy your videos.
Oh boy, I feel like future outdoor and car content is gonna be lit. Petko on adventure time, hihi.
New series I’m in love
I’m still so excited because we do more than repeat the same actions on this channel.
oooh yea .., that thing has ALOT of potential .,.,. looks cool ., that would be a fortune in the states , every one wants something like that here .,
If it was any other channel for sure the last part about learning stuff would have transitioned into a skill share advert, I was so ready for it🤣

hahaha...straight up dirt for the texture
i have one of these in Canada, so it's effectively one of one where i come from in Canada. although it's a 1993 one.
Dark Den gets an automobile restoration channel??? LETS GO!!
Can't wait for the Dark Garage.
Its like a mini early 80s bronco. Cute and cool.
dude! you have to throw a little money into some paint, maybe a skull gear knob, some red dice. flames down the side! make it full on heavy metal!
I'll just add spiders lol
Surprisingly good body condition. Consider doing some anti corrosion work if you want to preserve the car for some time. Ladas usually rust like hell!
Will be fun to see you struggling with it🤣🤣
Lada is, as lots of Russians said me while I was there few years ago, THE DIY car. There's always something broken or that is falling apart ahah
6:32 it's called a socket for a socket wrench the one with a square in the middle of it
Yeah, I remembered when I was editing the video!
