Antonoff has often been credited with having a significant impact on the sound of contemporary popular music since the mid-2010s.
Taylor's songs are often deeply personal, but most people can relate to the emotion or the pain or whatever she is conveying. This is one of her very best songs in my opinion.
This song is about Scott Borchetta who was like a second father to her. He owned her record label and he sold her masters to Scooter Braun who wouldn’t allow her to buy them back. That is why she is remaking her first 6 albums hence Taylor’s Version!
I hope now that it’s been explained, he’ll listen to the lyrics to this song again understanding what she’s feeling. Beautiful song 🎶 ❤
"My Stolen Lullabies", her first 6 albums under Big Machine. Many have said it already, but it is so amazing how one can also relate to this song as a romantic break up. 😍😭

I know other swifties mentioned this is about scott and scooter, but shes also said this song is about betrayal in a relationship (like the perspective is from a woman who's husband betrayed her and she's haunting the funeral seeing how he's reacted to it)
She mentions in a lil interview part of the long pond sessions, that the person who can be so good to you who knows you so well, can hurt you because they know how to.
In Taylor's case, the person in charge of her old label specifically wouldn't sell her masters to her than he sold them to scooter who is just awful... thats what lead to the rerecords! And i think when she says, " You wear the same jewels that i gave you as you bury me" its a double metaphor with it representing her albums that got gold platinum/her 1st 6 albums and that line describes how deep this betrayal hurt her.

She had been with Big Red Machine Records and Scott Borchetta, since she was 16 years old. All of her pain has become his now because she is re-writing all of her albums that were on that label. Now her tears have become his because he’s no longer making any money from albums that she’s made.
This was definitely devastating to her and you can see the pain in every inch of her face on this song. It was one of the biggest heartbreak of her life. How anybody could’ve done to someone that you grew up with and feel like was part of your family, we’ll never know.

Its a great way to understand it! This is about the betrayel when the owner of her previous label, who was like a 2nd father, sold her entire life's work, including her first 6 albums out from under her to Scooter Braun. It's really disgusting, honestly! But she's so much more then either of them will ever be & they've both now come to understand the power of "TayVoodoo"! And you're right about the people that try to take her down & how she constantly takes them out- but with grace!

I see everyone telling you what it’s about but also the guy on the piano is Jack Antonoff, her long time friend and producer on a lot of her songs. In this long pond session on disney plus she has interviews before each songs with him and the other co producer, aaron dessner. It’s amazing and you should watch it because you really feel the music even more.
