- Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas remains in hot water after he got caught heading with his family to Cancún as millions in the state had no power or drinkable water during a freak snow storm. Cruz admitted it was a mistake, but the controversy isn't going away. The embattled senator first said he was escorting his family to a vacation and coming back, but leaked text messages surfaced from his wife Heidi that appeared to show the entire family was planning to stay through the weekend. #InsideEdition

Also the excuse of 'taking the family there' is so lame. What his family can't get on a plane themselves and go wherever? Is this Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan that his family can't fly by themselves? If it was just dropping them couldn't his security do it whilst he managed something so important as a state in crisis? The fact is he was escaping from duty, responsibility in such grave times. I hope Texans see this and hold him to account - not the ones who didn't vote for him, but the one's who voted for him - because it's them whom he has cheated and let down.
