You helped this 47yr old lady-score all A’s in her first semester in a Paralegal program. I never learned how to study...never too late😉. Thank you for being such a great teacher.
*Here's the "How" part of the video* -I made it for my own reference but I listed every point so you don't have to watch the video. -If you still want to watch it it starts at 5:54. -Before that he explains "What is it that is making me feel so busy?" *1. Be Ruthless* • being conscious (amount of time spent on social media, etc) • spending a couple of days to literally write down everything you do in a day •plan out your time precisely in a calendar • think "What am I doing with all of the time I have in a day?" • ask "Are the things I'm doing moving me closer to where I want to be or bringing me joy?" If no, then cut it off from your life *2. Pools to Tools (replacing Infinity Pools with Time Saving Tools)* • using Trello (organising task) and Noted (records audio and makes notes at the same time) *3. Daily Highlight (at the start of each day)* • plan time in your calendar for the start of each day to do those things you really want to do •try and be as strict as you can with not allowing yourself not to do those things • if you know you're gonna be busy set a small highlight, if not, set an ambitious one • allocate 1-2 hours a few days a week to do something you want to do *4. Being Busy isn't necessary a Bad Thing* • being busy in the wrong way is a bad thing • stay concious if you're being 'habitual busy' or 'the people pleasing' kind (which he explains earlier) • allow yourself to fill up as much of your time time as you can with things that actually matter to you • spend the least time doing things that don't move you to your goals or don't bring you joy *Finally, choose to do those things and commit to them* Okay, you're welcome.
For me this works: Avoid distractions. No phone, no radio etc. Make time in your schedule for at least 4 hours of industurbed work Find out when you are most focused. For me this is in the evening. Therfore I do simpler tasks in the morning and then I do my difficult work late in the evening. Eat well and workout. Sleep! Being tired means low productiviy. Sleep as much as you need in order to perform 100%. Surround yourself with good people. Have fun and love what you do. Doing this will give you flow. Also before doing the work. Sit down and think. Just think. I did 2 weeks of thinking and 2 hours of programming and my boss was amaazed by the result. If I just worked without thinking it wouldn't be the case.
i have read our brain can focus max 4 hours of productive thinking a day so your advice is really good. i ll try incorporating this into my routine thank you
I like the way how you describe social media apps as “sucking” our time and interest. It definitely does sound stronger than just “taking your time away”😭
How i get up at 6 am, go to school, get back at 4 pm, cook for one hour, rest for 30 minutes, do the dishes for another 30 minutes and finally i can get my homework done ( which probably took about 2hrs). So now we are at 7 pm so -1hr of my sleeping and washing routine. I have to sleep at least 8 hours to have enough dose of sleep. 2 hrs then to enjoy the life have hobbys or just chill with friends! Greetings from Poland and our teaching system :)
Well I have to get up at 5am (I live far away from my school) so I have to go to sleep at 8:30pm and I get home 1x at 6pm, 2x 4pm and two times either at 3 or at 2 pm Plus I play piano and am doing my driving licence right now...
I am literally in awe by how you balance everything! I personally think I’m spreading myself way too thin and I’m not really enjoying life as much as I would like! I need to start working more efficiently
I loved this! I feel like I go through periods where i'm super motivated and get everything done and other periods where I find myself sucked into one of those "infinity pools" (at the start of the year it was TikTok, now it's Warzone!). Loving your stuff dude, definitely inspiring me to up my game on my channel :)
Subscribed within the first minute mate. Thoroughly impressed by how clear and concise the video is, as well as the cinematography and editing🙏 as someone with no social media aside from TH-cam, this was still so helpful
Thanks so much Demetri! Just checked out your channel - congratulations on hitting 1K, and keep at it - not that long ago (November 2019) I was getting hundreds of views a video 🤗
Wow Liam your video quality is becoming excellent with very good editing skills, I've been watching your videos since you had posted a Cambridge room video, it's very nice to see your channel growing
Hi Liam, another outstanding video! I can’t wait for your next vid! I just want to say thank you for taking the time to make these amazing videos which help people like me so much! Keep up the great videos and I hope you are doing well in lockdown! 👍
Your channal was recommended to me . I like your content bro . Loved your transition . Your storytelling . . Your thoughts that you're sharing it's quite motivating to do more
Thanks so much! I'm really happy with this one too - think it really applies to me, and hopefully you'll be able to use some of the techniques I mentioned 😃
Surprised to see the retro Filofax. I used to use one but all my appointments come in electronically so I spent forever writing it out and then updating it, or not having it with me. I gave up and went all digital in the end. Anyone else like Filofax?
Hey Liam, uhmm, I was struggling with the exact same things you mentioned in this video especially since the past 3-4 days; I knew it wasn't motivation, it was clarity and thank you so much for helping me out when I really need it the most :) July let's go!
So glad this helped you get a sense of why you've been struggling a little - I think focus and clarity is the biggest struggle we all face in a busy, app-filled world, so hope a few of the techniques I shared can help you!
You should do a video on how you study. Because I’m a new Computer science student and I know i have to study but I don’t know how to. Effectively at least
Liam, i just can't thank you enough for all your videos!! They've helped me so much in getting better grades, studying more efficiently as well as in being productive! It has also helped me to get more downtime! Thank you so much again as i will be forever indebted to you....Loved this video, btw. P.S. Could you please share your study music playlist? -Mizumi
Hey, in many of your videos you talked about making a video where you'll show us how you use Trello. I'm super excited about that! Anyway, keep up with your awesome work!
The video was v.helpful. It would be great if you would do one on "how to follow a routine" or smtg of that kind.Recently, it has been really hard to follow a routine and be productive. Thanks! =)
Please post more videos and more often! I love them! It's probably gonna be the only video that I'm gonna watch until another of your videos come out..
Sir how to deal with the mobile distraction, almost of my work is there sometimes using 1 app leads me to another then I waste my whole day in doing nonsense. And at the end of the day I feel guilty of not studying. How to deal with it ???🙁
Hi Liam, I know this isn’t related to this video but I wanted to ask about your GLD? I have finished University (as of yesterday) and have a chance to take a GDL or an MA in Law. What would you recommend? I believe the GDL is being replaced soon? I should mention that my undergrad degree was in classical studies and not specifically law.
2:40 I was the person like that, just watch tik tok and instagram in whole time so while im study i procrastinate and the simple way to do fix up this problems is DELETE ALL OF THEM..🤣
This is me all over, i always wake up thinking right todah im getting my shit together and doing work, then I sit infront of the laptop and guess what no shit gets done as I find it hard to concentrate!
I mean... there wouldn't be too much too it at the moment: read, sleep, eat, repeat ahaha - especially as we can't travel at the moment! I sadly haven't had a vacation for ages either!!
I would say first, but no one cares ... So cool vid an, if you view this, watch adverts the whole way through so he (and any other you tuber u like) get the money they deserve :)
I love watching these type of videos while laying in bed and eating chips
ehh same
it's always the "bed and chips" comment😒
😂😂😂😂😂😂
What kind of chips?
