My chemistry teacher used to tell us this all the time - "work smarter, not harder", but I didn't really take her words to heart until after I left her class (sometimes it takes a little while for the wisdom to sink in).
Once I started to pay attention more to HOW I studied rather than simply for how long I studied, I realized I could get the grades I wanted in way less time 🤯 So in this video I wanted to share 8 different tips for studying efficiently that'll help you get homework done, study for tests, and memorize information faster.
Hope you all are doing well 💖

I'm 42yrs old and recently diagnosed with ADHD. You popped to the top of my search when I came looking to learn more about time tracking to help improve my quality of life. This is the second video of yours that I am watching this morning. I am now a RAVING FAN of your work and content! I watch a lot of people, talk about a lot of stuff and you absolutely understand your customer base and fully understand how the information needs to be presented to generate genuine action to the task being learned. May all your endeavors be blessed with abundant joy and financial wealth! ...now back to my rabbit hole of looking up Smartcards and stalking all of your videos 🤣

I don’t know if this helps somebody but here is the timestamps
0:49 Take breaks. 25 minutes intense, 5 minutes off
1:31 Active recall. Quiz yourself with flashcards or notes
2:25 Repetition. First repeat after 10 minutes, then 1 day, then 1 week, then a month.
5:11 Adjust what’s not working. If you always just repeat and keep forgetting, try a new method. In most cases it’s Not your fault you’re not learning, it’s the method.
6:46 Memorization techniques. Try to see the similarities between what you’re going to learn and the things you already know. You can also make a rout where you walk in your house and make connections to the things you’re going to learn. When you’re writing a test, you can walk the rout in your mind.
9:58 Focus on what’s difficult. You don’t need to repeat the things you already know, because you already know them. Instead, focus on what you don’t know.
10:53 Do practice problems. Try making your own exams to test if you actually know what you need to know.
11:31 Study schedule. If you do a schedule you will probably not forget to study and you’ll automatically find more time to do other things.
Edit : I have 9999 likes, uhm wow thanks i guess

Try a different study method, this in the long run is really bad, idk in what level of education you’re on but in Uni you have to remember that after this you have to work and actually put everything you have learned to practice for multiple hours, so forgetting things can be truly detrimental

The most important thing is to practice what you learn! I cannot stress this enough! Read the chapter ONE time, then spend more time just jotting down everything you know. Your brain likes to think it knows everything, so when you skim your notes or reread the chapter your brain picks out the things you do know instead of the things you don't. This is from many years in the psychology department-- the more you do this in the beginning, the less you will have to study during exam season!

This is what my parents always tell me for 11 years and I've adapted it. It makes studying easier for me. And I also advice just to always listen during class discussion. I even get surprised to know the answer even when I don't read sometimes.. I can hear the teacher's lecture from the back of my head during exams as long as I listened attentively during class.

tips if you’re a procrastinator like me:
    1. break up the assignment of task into small pieces.
    2. Tell yourself that it’s easy or it won’t take very long.
    3. Organise before doing homework, it gets you in a productive mood. ie: filling in your planner, writing out a wish list or to do list.
    4. Listen to music that doesn’t have any lyrics or isn’t in your native language. (Basically you cant sing along or get distracted by)
    5. Clean your surroundings before starting. The less the clutter the more your mind will be clear.
You can get through this! 💞

What’s the hardest class you’ve ever taken? Mine would probably be the Intro to Sports Medicine class I took in high school, which I was NOT expecting to be difficult 😪 actually now that I look back it might have been easier if I had used spaced repetition to memorize all of those bones and ligaments 🤦‍♀️ Don’t make my same mistakes and make yourself some Smartcards+ flashcards → apple.co/3h7Ipm6

#2 works really well for me. It is now pretty easy for me to memorize pretty much anything with quizlet flash cards because I’ve done it so much. I remember last year on a matching test of 100 questions I got them all right and all I did was study the terms bit by bit on quizlet for my 30 min bus ride every morning for 4-5 days before the big test. After a while it memorizing starts to feel like a game for me.

Another tip from is when studying really important stuff, repeat the sentence you just read before going to the next one. The first time you read it you probably don't pay much attention to what it's referring to, so read each sentence 2 times and preferably out loud, as if you are teaching someone.
