July 77 when General Zia imposed Martial Law and December 79 when soviets invaded Afghanistan and the revolution of Iran as well. Your father must have had alot of info about the events of that time. Since i was born in mid 90's i have no idea what was Islamabad be like in 70's most probably a ghost town as its current population in 1 million
AHSAN ALI yes it was a different time. Except for Baluchistan the country was peaceful since Zia and the army had consolidated power in the country and Bhutto’s allies were in exile. We went to Swat every holiday because it was peaceful and beautiful. Islamabad felt like a new city and the Margala Hills were empty except for goats! The Faisal Mosque just started construction. But you could tell Islamabad would become a great city because of all the green space and parks.
i am basically from Afghanistan 🇦🇫 but i born and grown up in pakistan 🇵🇰 now i am abroad and really missing this beautiful country but Inshallah one day will return to pakistan
