    I am a late starter in the TH-cam Fashion on the Field events and I have been Binge Watching your back files, along with about half a dozen (That dated measure) other high profile channels, simply because I am doing a Marketing exercise in Australia, where the national Retail Market is in turmoil because local buyer's are "Window Shopping" in the traditional "Bricks and Mortar"stores, then buying those products from global Internet stores. Australia has never been a country that shopped via Mail Order, particularly in the Global market place, when we are half a year out of step with the Fashion Cycle.
    Well that's how TH-cam guided me to your page and after viewing today's video where you define the difference between Fashion and Style, I think the sector that you address is the best way to create stable long term growth. Particularly as I find your channel honest and refreshing to watch.
    You have the "bones" of a channel that can grow to match the subscriber numbers of the current market leaders, all of whom appear to me to have started to spread themselves to thin, as they concentrate on growing subscriber numbers.
    But I am not here to criticize, because I don't have any TH-cam experience, I'm just hear to learn and say that I enjoyed your videos enough to want to subscribe, so I can learn from the very wide range of comments on the topics you present in a unique style. Phil.

    Again, you hit the nail on the head.
    I look at Jesse’s jacket, it fits in the shoulders perfectly, the length of the arms is great, about one inch of the shirt sleeve is visible.
    The length is perfect, fits in the waist.
    The problem is, that many people think tailored means tight.
    The issue with this gentleman, is that he is trying to look fashion-forward/young by wearing tight clothing.
    This makes him look like he is trying hard to be something he is not, which is young!
    Leave these fads to the kids, who will one day look back at their pics from this phase,
    and wonder what they were thinking! Fashion faux pas are a right of passage.
    Fashion fades, style is timeless. If you have style, you will look good when you are 25, 45, 75.

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Preach, Dave! But yes, it’s an all too common misconception that tailored means fitted and it doesn’t. It’s not an easy myth to dispel amongst the fashion forward crowd but I’m doing my part. Excellent comment and thanks for watching.

    V,
    I agree with you on this 100%. I get compliments all of the time on the way I dress because of what I wear and how I wear it . You can spend money and buy quality items from a thrift store and look like a million bucks. Or, waste 1000’s on fashion items and look like a cheap used car salesman. I tell my son all of time it is better to purchase one quality item that will last a lifetime and will be timeless or spend your life savings on a bunch of junk. Love your vids my brother .Keep dropping them.

      I’ve been lucky I guess but I’ve never really had that issue of my RTW shirts not staying in my trousers. But I know what you mean about MTM shirts being expensive. Spier & Mackay sell 3 for $180 but that still ads up.

    I'm in my late 20s and never went that far (tight) as today's younger gen or the guy in the vid. But still I guess I better try on my old woolen inherited suit again and adjust my perception, maybe it's a better fit than I felt like after all.
    mm I just watched a couple vids from u and u got a new sub.) keep it up and you'll reap the fruits in a year or two when u in 100ks of subs. Quality content linked to traditional style guidance. GL w/ the channel!
    Regarding the people suggesting to tune down the music - if u don't have it yet in your video editing setup, get yourself a pair of "studio monitoring headphones" that have a flatish frequency response curve (not colouring the sound too much in the bass or treble regions as some "modern" headphones do eg Beats..). That way you can mix the sound output of your videos more precisely, to your liking during video editing phase, tuning the sound of music to whichever level you find fitting for the video (while checking that your voice can be heard well). I'm watching on mobile rn, but I would say maybe turn the music down a little bit, but not too much. It didn't seem overly loud to me and this seems to be your style of videos, I enjoyed it overall, thanks to your clear voice/mic I still understood u well thru the music.

    I have been watching your videos for sometime now, but you must understand that, for those who have an extensive wardrobe, wearing different suit fitments is ideal. It’s good to have fun with fashion and stay true to you at the same time!
    In simple, fashion etiquette is meant to be broken, if you can pull it off and shine with a high level of class, taste and creativity!
    I think his style is much more versatile than yours, because of his vision for fashion and the fact that he is fit and wear a larger range of clothing that you cannot clearly pull off.

    Loving the content you’re putting out Vladimir and this one was especially interesting.
    I think we’re on the same page when you say ‘fit is king’ and there can be no doubt that your friend with the 43K subscribers is wearing his clothes far too tight. It doesn’t even look comfortable and if I was him 8 wouldn’t sit down too fast in case he splits his trousers.
    However I do think the beautiful jacket Jessie is wearing does look very slightly too big and could maybe use just a little tailoring.
    That said I really enjoy your point of view and if I may just add that I think your videos could be improved by showing us some of your own sartorial choices. Another you tuber I enjoy is Brian at He Spoke Style and he often illustrates his points by wearing some of his own pieces.
    Keep up the good work and betting it’s a cinch you get to 43K subscribers. And beyond.

    What’s up Vladimir, I don’t remember which of your videos it was that you talked about pant cuffs and you also mentioned that most all of your trousers have pleats. Do you have any flat front trousers? My rule of thumb has always been pleats equals cuffs, flat front equals no cuffs. What are your thoughts?

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What up, Keith? I spoke about cuffs and pleats in this video 👉🏾 th-cam.com/video/yieu0gTmuE8/w-d-xo.html. But to answer your question directly, I have one pair of pants without pleats and that’s the one that came with my Brown suit. But one thing I do not have is a pair of pants without cuffs.
      I’ve heard that before though, letting the pleats determine if you cuff or not and it kinda makes sense. But me personally, I couldn’t imagine wearing pants without cuffs ever. Hope that helps!

    The problem is clothes like Spier and Mackay makes are simply not available in retail stores. Most people buy suits in person. It sucks that the only place to obtain classic menswear at a reasonable price if you live in America is online. So the cycle of everyone wearing tight suits with skinny lapels and flat front painted on pants continues...

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it depends on the style, the Nazio and the Jort for example have a nice silhouette. But a couple of their other styles sometimes have too high of a buttoning point for my liking. One common complain that I hear often is that the trousers are usually too slim but mines were ok in that department.

    • @jonathanbarnes5617
      @jonathanbarnes5617 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@v_r_ good points. I was looking at their website recently and recognized how high the buttoning was after watching this video. I've only tried on their jackets, but have definitely heard the same complaint regarding the trousers.

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have one near by, I would advise that you go in person and try a couple different styles to see which one you like. This "fashion " trend reminds me of suits from the 1960s gone terribly wrong. Yes suits were cut closer to the body, but they were tailored that way! You could raise your arms or bend down to tie your shoe . The way they've exaggerated this (trend) simple things like picking up your briefcase or breathing are an exercise in futility! I guess it's better than wearing your pants below your but ! I can understand "skinny suits " on young men, but once you've reached a certain maturity you should put on your BIG BOY
    Suit! My apology for the rant I've been holding that in for a while. Please keep educating ! 👌❤✌

I will say however regarding 2 is that I would like it to be more of an athletic cut and more slim but that is where I am in my style journey so far, I like a combination of modern and classic style. But if I had to pick then 2 is definitely better, by far. The waistcoat in 1 is way too small and tight not to mention too short. And you already burned him on the fit of his jacket so yeah ... Imagin how many seams would rip if you pickup a lady's handkerchief from the floor if your clothes are as tight as this gentleman is wearing them(perhaps its all super stretch/cheap fabric?). I would have to agree, when you say it looks like he is wearing his sons cloths. In my opinion it does looks like a middle age man going through a mid life crisis. Now with that being said, I was taught that when it comes to men's style, first you learn the rules then you experiment with breaking the rules. Personal style should be just that, personal. Over sized or under sized or even just right, it's all in the eye of the beholder. If you like what your wearing and it feels good to you then all the power to you. It's all good. Imagine a world were everybody did every thing the exact same way because someone said this is how it's suppose to be. We all need to chill.

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First and foremost, I've never agreed with the statement about learning the rules then break them, that never made any kind of sense to me.l and I've always found it arrogant. Why stop at men style? Let's just learn all the rules and proceed to break all of them and see what the consequences will be. Second, he's free to wear whatever he wants but when it comes to style, it's either something fits or it doesn't fit, there's no in between and I think I did a good job of explaining that in the video. If what we wore didn't matter and we can just chalk it up to "personal style", then a channel like mine would be irrelevant. There's right or wrong then there's personal preference and to me this is just plain wrong. So just like he's free to wear ill-fitting clothes and criticize others on the internet for wearing clothes that properly fit, I'm allowed to talk about him. This is truly a passion of mine and I will not chill as long as I'm breathing, so there's that.
