  • Meall a' Bhuachaille is a great choice for a first hillwalk in the Cairngorms, being easily accessible and having the benefit of great paths to the summit as well as superb views. Here is a chance to experience the beauty and wildness of the Cairngorms without the length and remoteness of some of the Munro walks. The walk described offers great variety, with ancient Caledonian pines, lochs, forests and a windswept ridge; it can easily be extended to a full days hillwalk by continuing over Creagan Gorm to Craigowrie. Did Lisa forget her walking poles !! I was surprised when you started without them and then yours appeared.
    As a 73 year old outdoor person who now has arthritis in my knees I wished poles were avaliable when I was younger and I encourage everyone to use them and not to end up like me.
    Anyway cheers guys I love your blogs xx

      Hi Paul, We thought we’d just take the one set as this wasn’t a huge hill. Lisa was test driving my new ones! Have to agree though, without them I’d probably struggle. Years of carrying silly weight on my back in my military days! Also, I’m often going over on my right ankle and the poles have definitely stopped further injuries. That you for your message. Appreciate it! 😊🙏🫡

    Great memories for me of one of my favourite areas. The views you had were a little more far-reaching than when I was up there but the vista of Strathspey is outstanding. The descent from the col down to the reindeer centre was beautiful too as I remember. Fantastic camera work as always guys.

      Hey Michael, we were lucky enough to get wonderful views. The end of the walk was really nice too. We ended up filming more of the full route on this one. 🌲😊🌻🌲

    Another great movie from you both. I admire the effort it must take to put these together to tell the story of your hike. All the back and forth to set up the camera and pick it up again. So just letting you know I appreciate the efforts and enjoy all your videos. Keep them coming.

      Hi Richard, Thank you! 😊🙏🫡 Some days are tougher than others but we’re getting quite efficient at spotting a shot and between us we share the work. We always try to not let the filming take over/spoil our days out. We need to keep the filming secondary. 😊🙏

    A favourite walk of ours with a wee bit of everything which your film shows beautifully - love the drone footage. Thanks again for the work you put into making these videos.

    Meall a’Bhuachaille, is a lovely hill. We were up there in May this year where we enjoyed good 360 views, having reversed your route. Thanks for sharing!

      You can park anywhere around the reindeer centre or Hayfield. There’s lots of parking available. Can get busy though.

    Nicely filmed and loved the drone shots. My local dog walk when we're up there and a good one when the weather comes in on the plateau. The route down off Craigowrie is rough and boggy at the best of times so you made the right choice to double back. Although if you'd come down through Badaguish Outdoor Centre you could have got a lovely venison sandwich at the wee cafe 😋😋

      Hi Ian, Funny you should say that.. we’re going to have a look at Badaguish the next time we’re in the area. It’s a place we’ve never been to. The main reason we went back down was we didn’t fancy walking parts of the road with all the cars parked on the path. Thanks for watching matey. 😊🫡🙏

      @IanTupmanOutdoors ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 Dave, from Badaguish take the track through the Queen's Forest which avoids the road and brings you to the visitor centre at Glenmore. From there take the Old Logging Way path to Glenmore Lodge if you've left the car there. ☺ATB
