    It’s amazing how a low wattage tube amp can really capture nuances of someone’s playing. A volume knob and type of attack of your right hand can give you so much with a set up like that. Great job.

    Love the sound and playing! Now clearly this thing’ll have plenty of headroom and volume for a gig, but is it even possible to run this at apartment practice volume? Here it seems you can basically talk over it (what I’m hoping), but Ive seen some people say it’s lowest setting would still be too much for the neighbors

    • @guitarjonathan
      @guitarjonathan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It actually sounds surprisingly good with the volume barely up. Obviously, like any tube amp, it comes alive when you turn it up a bit, but I think you could play in an apartment. It’s just going to be totally clean at that volume.

    I have a Twilighter and love it! I've been interested in the Panoramic Stereo as well. Have you had a chance to try it? Thoughts and comparisons to the sound and volume in comparison to the Twilighter?

    • @guitarjonathan
      @guitarjonathan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Panoramic Stereo is pretty great as well. The vibrato is amazing on the PS, but I like the base tone of the Twilighter slightly better. I went back and forth between the two for a while before I settled on the Twilighter. Volume wise, if I remember right, it was a decent bit quieter than the Twilighter, but to me the Twilighter seems like a really loud amp relative to it’s wattage.

      @@guitarjonathan Do you think the stereo thing makes a difference between the PD and the Twilighter in terms of sound and room filling or is it just when using the built in effects?
      Also, do you think that turning down the volume on the Twilighter for home use is feasible to get decent tones when pushing it with pedals or is it too loud for home use?

  • @tennesseejam9788
    @tennesseejam9788 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video. Love the tone. Two questions. 1. How is the mid range on this compared to a deluxe reverb? 2. How is the volume taper?

    • @guitarjonathan
      @guitarjonathan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I think it’s a bit less scooped than a deluxe. The volume taper is great in that it sounds good even with the volume knob barely up. It does start to break up at about 9o’clock but that’s really loud.

    • @tennesseejam9788
      @tennesseejam9788 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @1Alfon
    @1Alfon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Jonathan, I have just bought a Panoramic Stereo but it sound wonderfull but it is kind of too bright/glassy with single coils. I'm considering to swap it to the Twilighter Mono. In this review the Twilighter doesn`t sound bright at all. Does it feels like this in the room? Since you have tried both, did you notice the Panoramic more bright than the Twilighter. Is the stereo thing making some difference between both amps? Thank you!

    • @guitarjonathan
      @guitarjonathan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The twilighter can be really bright with single coils as well. Two things that may be helpful:
      1. Some of that harsh high end will mellow as you break the speakers in.
      2. I still run the treble way down and the bass up, plus if I’m in a situation where I need to cut through mix more I like having the treble there as an option vs an amp like my Supro where there are situations even with single coils that it’s still too dark.

    • @1Alfon
      @1Alfon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guitarjonathan thanks for your advice! And you re right, I have a tweed deluxe and sometimes it is difficult to cut through the mix. I hope the harsh end will roll down as I break in the speakers! One more question, did you notice at first this the same amount of brightness between both amps? The only reason I was considering the twilight is because it seems to be less bright plus it has a kind of tweed feeling, but I already have a tweed and the panoramic cleans are to die for…

    hello jonathan , could you tell me about the clean headroom level of this amp , at what volume level does it start to break up ? , i have an fender tm deluxe reverb at the moment , and 22 watts is loud enough for the kind off gigs i do ( mostly blues / classic rock covers ) , i can push the dr tiill about 5 before it starts to really break up wich is more then enough for the pubgigs i do , in the intro you said you think it's louder then an dr , so it should be ok i guess , i always use my amp as a clean platform and will do the rest with my pedals , thanks in advance , greetings from holland , antoon hermans .

    • @guitarjonathan
      @guitarjonathan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel like my twilighter starts to breaks up around 4, but it’s not really overdriven until 5 or so, a lot like a deluxe reverb, but to me it seems quite a bit louder than a DRRI would be at the same settings. So you have plenty of headroom in my opinion. It takes pedals really, really well also.

    • @antoonhermans8953
      @antoonhermans8953 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@guitarjonathan thanks for the comment , i am looking at this amp or the milkman creamer ( with the jupiter ceramic speaker from wich they say it will not break up at any volume level wich for me is ideal because like i already staded , i use my amp as a clean platform ) , they are both around the 20 watt range wich for me is enough ( doing the pubgigs ) and both have a real good sounding reverb and tremelo . Sadly though , both amps cost over the 3000 euro's overhere in holland , so i guess i gonna have to rob a bank first : ) .

    Hey Jonathan, got any universal advice for finding band members? I’d love to be as busy gigging as you are! I’m new-ish to my area and am having a hard time finding the blues and rock people. I was in a band for 15 years back where I used to live. Thanks man, great vid once again!

    • @guitarjonathan
      @guitarjonathan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Ryan! I wish I did, but I struggle with finding folks sometimes too. Here's my thoughts though. I take all kinds of side man gigs... country, rock, whatever, and that helps me get on people's radar and then I find the like minded players who are doing the same thing. Also, I do a lot of acoustic gigs and I think other musicians are attracted to folks they perceive as being busy and having gigs. Other than that, keep an eye out for open mics and jams to kick back up. Probably not the most profound or helpful stuff but I think that's all I've got at the moment. Good luck, I hope you find some great band mates!!
