Aye the playing is gorgeous! What separates his playing from anyone else's (in my humble opinion) is his repeating of melodic motifs. It makes it seem like I'm listening to someone sing. Btw mary, you're amazing in your own regard! Your fingerpicking style is most enjoyable to listen to :)

    Greetings Chris Buck!
My first amplifier was a 1952 Magnatone that was paired with a matching slide guitar. It had originally been one of my Uncle’s, and I began playing with it at my Grandparent’s house when I was very young. When I was seven or eight years old, Grandma let me take it home. It was smaller than the Troubadour and had a blue Pearloid finish the matched the guitar and had an island scene with a sailboat stitched onto the grill cloth which covered a single eight (8) or ten (10) inch speaker. It was my Uncle Joel’s and he engraved his name on it before he had given up playing. It was a great little amplifier, which I used later on to drive a fifteen (15) inch JBL speaker in a Voice of the Theater cabinet. Later on it was stolen after I had graduated from for about a year. I still own the slide guitar and had it rewired, replaced the ferrules, and installed Grovers on the machine head. It still works great, but I still miss the amp that went with it. Currently I have a bunch of amplifiers, but I still wish I had that old Magnatone, it didn’t have all the bells and whistles that the Troubadour has, but it still sounded great. The new Magnatone Amplifier’s are a bit expensive for my budget, but I sure would like to test drive one someday. Now that you turned me on to the Troubadour, I will be keeping my eye out for one. I might look into the pedal too, it may be more affordable. Thank you for posting this video! Please have an excellent and awesome day! 😎👍

He said when I got more experienced I could buy a Magnatone Amplifier. Also i read in the Newspaper that Louie was a survivor of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake

Your pronunciation of 'He-ard' is interesting Chris, I have never heard it spoken thus! Yep these Magnatone amps have gained mystique!

That is a very impressive demo on the amp and pedal. I am familiar with magnatone but have never played one. By the way Gary Rossington uses a magnatone along with his peavey penta. Story goes that Billy Gibbons gave him a Magnatone when they were on tour together.

Brilliant stuff, Chris. The history section was very enlightening. I was wondering if you were ever going to mention Neil Young.😉 Of course he’s been using Magnatones for many years. The Magna57 pedal has got to be one of the most amazing pedals I’ve ever heard. Instant classic. It sounds amazing in every demo I’ve heard.
