Great series! It was very interesting to watch actual deep hard rock gem mining at the final stages. Is there a reason you don't display your finds after cleaning?
Marth V Unfortunately no. You can dig into a pegmatite at the Pala-Chief fee dig, but that is on the surface. The Oceanview crew blasts it sometimes between digs to expose things for people.
subarctica schools, and events are a great way to meet people, and get your foot in the door. Sometimes you have to volunteer before you get hired anywhere.
@@SteveMinerProspecting thanks for the ideas. Have you participated in any geology events or group digs in the past? How did you hear about them? I feel like I try to always keep my eye opening for interesting events happening but I never seem to hear about cool geology stuff like this.
subarctica yeah, I just happened to be on the river/mountain at the right times. Met, and worked next to the right people, and had the right conversations. Like anything else, if you are out hustling, people will see that. Then eventually you will meet the people who can guide you on your path a little.
I would to see the cleaning process
Just sprayed them with a hose, and soaked in acid. I couldn’t stay long enough to film it.
Impressive, i dont have any acess to mines tho so i just rely on random rocks to have minerals
Yeah, it would be nice to have a mine.
please show us the cleaning
They just hose off the crystals, and soak them in acid.
how big are these quartz crystals are?
I never got a weight, but they are big. All big crystals come from pegmatite.
How to scratch crystals 101
Owen Greer these were all perfect when washed off. 🤷🏻♂️
Would love to see the cleaning!
It just a hose spray, and an acid bath.
I'd really like to see the cleaning process
They just spray with a hose, and then soak in an acid solution.

Mike Louis I couldn’t be there for the cleaning. They hose the mud off, then soak it in chemicals.
@@SteveMinerProspecting Gotcha.
Oh my. Using clay to bandage the cut finger...

lol, yeah.. He tried his best..
Steve Miner
I’m planning on hitting up Oceanview Mine. Is the in-cave mining an option or is it just the pile sorting?
@@1218Draco there are two digs, the pile, and the chief dig. on the chief you can actually dig in the pegmatite. People have found pockets before.
Steve Miner same price or more expensive? This seems fun
@@1218Draco I think they are the same price now. Check out digforgems.com
Are these spots open to the public?

@@SteveMinerProspecting any updates or tips on getting into a mine?
What texture pack is this and why you use default skin and name
lol
You understand the joke right XD
@@3lyplayz679 yes, I actually laughed. :D
How can I help a local geologist with this field work
