Good job! That 11.1 liter Detroit was a horse back the day. I drove for Crete Carrier and they gave me a 99 Volvo sleeper truck to drive had great power and fuel economy. Pulled many mountains with it and I myself logged over half million miles on it before I was given a new Freightliner to drive. That will make someone a great truck

starters after non use get rusty crusty. usually you can clean them up pull em apart clean the terminals polish the copper stater put ‘em back together inspect the brushes wear. polish the inside of the case. with sandpaper. after that should work just fine. lube up the armature some times the bearings are done to.

Volvo trucks have a solenoid under the steering shaft on the firewall can be black like 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” check before you take off starter how many times that solenoid is having inside corrosion
