It's definitely more difficult. I've been told no future, no benefits, not educated, too old ,too fat etc, etc.

    السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Jazakallahu khairan for the beneficial clip. As a sister I’m curious about the student of knowledge point ustadh. Is it realistic to have it as one of your non-negotiables if you truly want someone dedicated to knowledge (whilst you yourself are striving to seek it as well). Barakallahu feekum!

و عليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاتة
      Ameen wa iyaki.
Yes, of course you should want to get married to someone who has an aspiration to seek knowledge so it is no problem whatsoever for you to ask that in the meeting etc. But having it as your standard that the brother must be a student of knowledge and comparing him whilst having a meeting with other students of knowledge will only make it harder for you to get married. Now this is similar to when a brother has such high standards to a sister sitting in front of him that she should look like this and without realising it comparing her to other women he may have been exposed to. So, the point is that you don't compare your future husband to anyone out there, as what you see is not always what is a reality.
As long as the brother prays 5 times a day, is known to have loyalty, obedient to his Lord and other can testify to that, obedient to his parents, kind, generous and not a stingy person, has good characters, hardworking man and not someone who sits on a console all day or on a sofa etc. Has an intention in seeking knowledge is known for his honesty and good morals.
I hope that is clear where I'm going with this.
May Allah grant you and everyone righteous spouses !

Assalam O Alikum. I am a junior (11th grade) in a US high school and inshallah I’m planning on applying to the university of Madinah. I don’t know how to speak Arabic but I know how to read Arabic as in the Quran and stuff. I don’t understand what I’m reading though. I just know how to read. Can I still get into university of Madina even though I can’t speak Arabic? I am fluent in English and am also taking advanced placement English classes. The majors/classes selections are confusing because some of them require you to be a hafidh and know Arabic while some don’t. So next year when I graduate inshallah, which program do I apply to? I want to know which programs I can apply to where I can be taught Arabic in university of Madina rather than knowing it prior to joining. I would really appreciate some help. Jazakallah.

If you are studying Al-Uloom-Al-Islamiyyah then you will enter the Ma'had for 2 years to learn Arabic but if you are doing Secular Studies (Oil, Coding or Etc) in Jamiah Al Islamiyyah, then I think you need only fluency in Engilsh.

what if someone doesn't identify as being upon the manhaj of the salaf
for eg. in south asian cultures majority of the brothers aren't upon the manhaj but identify as 'sunni' but they also listen to people like mufti menk and take from the likes of those people.
can we reject those / or is having that as a non-negoitable unreasonable?

best to just be aware of such people as they may instead have a corrupted belief but claim to be upon the sunnah. Many people claim to be upon the sunnah but they are liars! watch who they take their religion from, because if you marry someone who takes his religion from someone upon falsehood then he will also try to bring you into this falsehood.
