    Thanks for the review. Very well done. Please, no need to comment about youtube complainers. Never a need to apologize for being honest. We sailed on the same cruise in early June. Posted a video and 1 person complained. We loved it as well. The pool decks were definitely too crowded! Great job at documenting everything and putting together a video that wasn't 2 hours long. You have a new subscriber!

      You're most welcome! And thank YOU for such kind compliments and encouraging words. It's just amazing when you share honest opinions, that someone sees that as complaining. I'm thinking, "Don't you want to know our thoughts?" lol And yes! The pool decks were a nightmare in and of themselves. I also found trying to navigate through the chairs was a hazard. I tripped over a number of chairs that were out too far in the walkway. I was trying to watch out for people headed toward me, and not bump into them, only to trip over chairs. Thank you for choosing to subscribe to our channel! That means the world right now to me! Sure brought a big smile! For that, I'm going to give you two new subscribers: one from our business channel, and one from my personal channel that I use just for watching videos and commenting. Take care!

    I was also on the July 22 cruise! It was our 1st try with Royal Caribbean and overall we loved it. Hidden gem - the solarium area. Great for breakfast (less hectic than the Windjammer), also nice for dinner and great for relaxing on the decks. The pool area was a total disaster and we found the Solarium to be a better fit for us. We ate in the MDR just twice, and both times weee a disaster. We tried a 3 night dining pkg and loved it. Great video!

      Oh wow! That's so cool that we were on the same cruise! :D If you saw a crazy lady constantly videoing on a cellphone with a red Minnie Mouse cellphone case, that was me. lol :) Maybe we will cross paths on a future cruise. Your experience sure sounds similar to ours! Thank you for sharing your if as well as the alternatives that made it better. We may need to try that 3 night dining package. Brilliant idea! I was on this cruise at the end of August, everything was quite well if not exceptionally great. The complimentary food was average to good. Worst show on this ship was the CAT. Overall my best impression was the service on board, I would rate that as excellent.

    I wish so badly she was still sailing out of NJ in April and may coming up. We had to go down to a 4 night instead of 7 because of having to buy plane tickets to miami and go several days early just in case of flight issues. So we couldn't take enough time off work. We live outside of Philadelphia, so this cruise port would be so convenient lol

    • @Gate24Travel
      @Gate24Travel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are so right that Cape Liberty is so convenient for those of us leaving near it! We are about six hours away ourselves. :D If you enjoy her on your upcoming cruise, maybe she will be back so you can do your 7-day. You are so smart to go early too. The world of travel is so chaotic these days. Thank you for watching Ashleigh!

We're booked to go on Oasis in May, our first time on this particular ship and also first time cruising out of New Jersey as we typically fly south to terminals. I appreciate the parking stub tip! Enjoyed this video, we are going in October and I am getting anxiety over the size of the ship, and the amount of people that will be on board. I was wondering how much the parking was, we take a bus down but are curious about the cost for parking.

      @Gate24Travel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much, Mary, for your kind compliment! Hopefully, in October, there won't be quite as many people onboard for you. Central Park and the Solarium are probably going to be great places for you to relax. And that's a great question about parking! Parking at the Cape Liberty is $175 for a 7-day cruise. Thanks for asking this question! (Melinda) :)

    Great vid I’m going in October do you think it will be less busy

    • @Gate24Travel
      @Gate24Travel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! :) Thank you so much for your kind compliment. Technically, the answer to your question is "yes". October is a school month, so there shouldn't be a lot of families with school-age children onboard resulting in a less busy cruise. However, if you're sailing around Columbus Day, that is a school holiday and could cause more passengers to sail. If you're sailing the last week in October on a Halloween cruise, that's also a popular time for cruising, in general. Do I think you'll see 6500 passengers? No, I don't think so. :D However, this is post-2020 cruising, and anything is possible. But, I wouldn't anticipate the same busy-ness of our cruise back in July. If you need a quiet spot on your cruise for a few minutes or longer, Central Park was never super busy on our cruise. :) I hope you have a wonderful cruise in October! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment and ask a great question! (Melinda)

    awesome video! is the tram to south beach free? and how long did you have to wait for it

    • @Gate24Travel
      @Gate24Travel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for your kind compliment! And yes! The tram service around CocoCay is completely free. Once you get to the end of the pier, turn towards your right and there will be a path leading to the tram station. There was already a tram waiting when we got there. So we hopped on right away. We had to wait a few minutes for the tram to fill, but not too terribly long. At each area of CocoCay is a tram station. So, if you want to spend a couple of hours at one, just head to the station at that area, and hop on the next one that comes around. Once it reaches where you want to go, just hop on off. :D Once we got ready to leave South Beach, we waited a few minutes for the tram, but again it was not a super long wait. I'd say around five minutes or less. On our way back to the ship, there was a couple on the tram with us who said they went around CocoCay three times on a "free" tour! Ha! :D It's such a brilliant service. Thank you for taking the time to comment and ask a great question! (Melinda)

    Does everyone disembark at the around 8ish? Or are you told when you are to disembark? We are a group of 8 and have a bus coming to pick us up and trying to figure out what time we should tell them.

    • @Gate24Travel
      @Gate24Travel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! That's a great question. :) According to an information sheet we were given on our last day, disembarkation takes place between 6:45 a.m. - 9:20 p.m. If you do self-assist, or are any of the following: Star Class Guests, Sky Class Guests (Grand Suite and above), Crown and Anchor (Gold and above), Pinnacle Guests, or The Key, you basically can disembark anytime between 6:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., with a few of those groups being until 8:30 a.m. All other passengers are have tag numbers 3 - 66 and disembark between 7:15 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. We were given the tag number 28 by our stateroom attendant, who left them on the bed while we were at breakfast, and knew from the info sheet that our disembarkation time was 8:15 a.m. Most of the waiting areas are on deck 5, but not all. The one thing that was weird for us is that we never heard our tag number called. We just knew to be out of our cabin by 8:00 a.m. and wait in the dining room, deck 5, aft. When we got to the dining room we were stunned to see on a monitor that our tag number had been already been called. If your tag number doesn't work for you, you can go to guest services, and request new ones that better match the time you need to be off the ship. :D Hope this helps you out! Thank you for taking the time to ask this question! (Melinda)

      Great information!
      I did come across about Vaccination Regulations on this ship during embarkation, is that an issue if you’re not vaccinated and have to take the test on board?

    • @Gate24Travel
      @Gate24Travel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nozimakudrow2517 Hello! Any cruise on Oasis of the Seas sailing out of Cape Liberty on or after September 5, 2022 allows unvaccinated passengers to sail as long as they provide a negative test result. This test can be administered by a doctor or pharmacist, or you can use a home test kit. The home test kit is not required to be under live video supervision. You present the negative test result at the time of boarding. This can be in the form of a printout, an email, or an app screen from the test provider. With self-tests, you can show a picture of your negative home test on your phone, or present the actual negative test itself. So if you're not fully vaccinated, you take your test within three days of your departure date. On our departure day (embarkation day), there was a line of people outside the terminal waiting to take on-site tests. I'm not sure if they will continue offering this after September 5th. I hope this information helps! :) (Melinda)

      I got off the ship yesterday. The earliest time to get off the ship is 6:30 am, the latest is around 9:30 am. Roughly 4 days before the end of the cruise you are asked to pick a time slot on the phone app, a couple of days before the end of the cruise you will find luggage tags with a group number in your stateroom. When it's close to disembarkation day an instruction sheet will be left in your stateroom, you are asked to leave the ship by group number and on the instruction sheet you will find the time for your group. My group number has exactly the embarkation time I picked on the app.
      You can in fact leave the ship any time you want and nobody will stop you, they just want to control the flow of the people arriving at the gangway. It only took me 15 minutes from leaving my stateroom to step out of the terminal. If you want to save time, you better take the luggage by yourself instead of having the crew to deliver them to the terminal.
      Royal Caribbean handled the disembarkation process nicely, the flow of people was constant and there was no wait in the process.

    • @Gate24Travel
      @Gate24Travel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clee6746 Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! Can you elaborate more on selecting a time slot on the app? None of us in our party saw a notification or anything about selecting a time slot in the app. :( Is it something that pops up when you open the app? Or just by scrolling it showed up? On the last sea day, while we were at breakfast, our stateroom attendant left our luggage tags and information sheet in our room. I guess they chose for us. lol It would have been nice to use the app and select our own time though. It's so weird that there were 4 of us, and not one of us saw that. *sigh* We also thought disembarkation was a smooth process! We were wondering how they could handle that many people, but it was handled very well. We were also off the ship in 15 minutes. :) (Melinda)

    So overall... how would you rate the food?

    • @Gate24Travel
      @Gate24Travel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! :) Thanks for asking! Overall, I would give a combined rating of 7/10 for all the venues and food we tried. Portside BBQ is just the best! The absolute best! the breakfast food is your standard cruise breakfast. Nothing really stood out as exceptional there. I think Sorrento's is the best pizza at sea. El Loco Fresh is good too, but I like Blue Iguana on Carnival better. Each night in the dining room had something that one of us enjoyed very much. But there wasn't a meal where each course was exceptional. The portion sizes were decent in the MDR too. I very much enjoyed eating at Park Cafe. The sandwiches and salads were great, as well as the dessert offerings. But each included venue served the same desserts each day. For example, the desserts in Park Cafe were the same as Cafe Promenade and the Windjammer. For breakfast, my favorite venue was Solarium Bistro because it was easier to access and less chaotic. For lunch, my favorite venue was Park Cafe. Definitely not as hectic in there either, and the offerings were light and refreshing on hot Caribbean days. For dinner, if I could have eaten dinner at Portside BBQ every night, I would have done it in a heartbeat. lol But the MDR was sufficient enough to satisfy. I'm sorry if this is information overload. I tend to do that. :) (Melinda)
