We were on Oasis in May of this year. We avoided some of your challenging issues such as WiFi (we used our iPhone as a hot spot in port in conjunction with Verizon’s international plan). We also chose fixed early dining. We were on for two weeks and the dining room staff took very good care of us. Our one disappointment was the Central Park balcony room. It was so noisy during the day it was frustrating to sit on our balcony. We used Royal’s bidding system to get an outside balcony cabin for the second week that worked perfectly for us. I agree about the shows. Aqua 80 was amazing and the ice skating was show was fun. There was also a ventriloquist who was very good. I would book another trip on the Oasis but not until it’s back to sailing out of Bayonne. We live 30 minutes from the port and can Uber there. Easy peasy.
Oasis is amazing!! She was the real game changer in 2010 and she’s still so impressive, especially now after the Amplified Process! Been on her in 2012 and Loved it! 🤩
Was on the Oasis last week. A few complaints: Central Park balcony room. One of our travel companions chose the block of rooms thinking central park would be quiet. Wrong. Boardwalk was quieter, go figure. The dining room food is a dandied up version of Golden Corral. It's nice to feel pampered, there's plenty of variety, and enough calories to make you stroke-out, but it's not fine dining. It's faux-fine dining. I had a piece of seared Ahi that was tough as shoe leather and a piece of prime rib that was Golden Corral caliber. The serving staff will turn themselves inside out to make you happy but don't mistake gluttony for fine dining. Next, Don't sail the last two weeks of the summer unless you like to be surrounded by feral children. Not the fault of the cruise line - my second time making this mistake so it's entirely on me. If you had a drink cup as a part of your drink package, the soda machines attracted swarms of kids likes ants at a picnic, each child taking an excruciating amount of time to get the cup filled to 99.99% capacity. Cute. Disembarkation, we checked our luggage so we could have a chill breakfast without tussling for elevator space. Everything went according to plan until we disembarked and my luggage was missing. I'll spare you the details but another passenger has my luggage. RCC to the rescue right? Wrong! As brilliant as the service was on the ship - on land it was worse than dealing with the cable company; disinterested, poorly informed, bothered. I submitted a claim via the ridiculous chargerback.com site. Six days later no meaningful updates. Finally, evening I returned from the trip I tested positive for COVID. So yea, that happened.
I found if you use the Internet into the wee hours of the morning, it works better, plus if you can get a cabin near the navigation area, it's even better.
Was on Oasis last month. No mention of the Cats production. People were leaving in mass during the performance. We stayed the entirety but left scratching our heads about how bad it was. The performers were good but mostly about not knowing what the play was about or what the heck was going on throughout it. Left very disappointed
I have to laugh at your confusion (NOT your fault, it IS confusing!:) As a huge theatre person as either a participant or audience member, I know Cats is definitely unique (& misunderstood). People usually love it or hate it. It doesn't have a single plot, but rather is a series of stories, based off writings of author T.S. Elliot. It is a strange choice for a cruise ship. They should do something more mainstream like Grease, Wizard of Oz, or Mama Mia!
Yes, I was waiting for one of you to mention Cats in the bad category. I stayed for the whole thing out of respect for the performers, but many folks trickled out during the first 20 minutes. Thank god they shortened it by an hour. Royal needs to find a new show for the oasis of the seas.
We gotta be honest. Cats is a weird choice for a cruise ship but it is also one of the longest running Broadway shows of all time. Although, we know many are not fans, we found it to be well done and enjoyable with a glass of vino. 🍷 That said, we couldn’t put it into good or bad categories (but we know many hate it). Hope this helps clarify!
A "hot box" is a good way to describe the Solariums on some of the ships; that was definitely the case for us on Harmony of the Seas in the eastern Caribbean in July! We had the same problem with trivia and had to walk away disappointed at not being able to play many times. Oftentimes, the venue was already full for 30 or 60 minutes prior because of other games before trivia.
I love that you are soooo truthful! Keep up these great videos, i look forward to seeing how other types of content, like smaller cruises to Antarctica, or some river cruises in Asia and ir Europe! Especially for us older, more experienced multi cruisers. Vickie from SE Pa
We also loved the Aqua Show. We had two connecting Boardwalk balcony rooms and my mom loved leaving the balcony door open to listen to the music while we were getting ready for dinner!
Great review! One thing our family enjoys, when the budget allows, is to book a room in their Suite Class. Specifically the Sky and Star Class. It is a totally different experience and adds lots of time to your cruise. I realize it can get expensive but it really is convenient and helps to bypass lots of the lines and crowds on these massive ships.
I had a cruise on my bucket list for the past 15 years. I finally made that dream come true this past July. I was on the oasis of the seas to bahamas which left out of bayonne nj. I agree almost with everything u mentioned however I was DEEPLY disappointed at the alcohol drinks. I didn't want to purchase the drink package do to how expensive it was for only a 7 days cruise. And boy was I soooo happy I made that choice! I opted to pay as u go n still it was truly disappointing. I couldn't taste ANY alcohol in any of the drinks I purchased. So therefore after the 2nd day I made the decision to not purchase any drinks at all. And I was sooooo happy that I didn't purchase the drink package! It was truly disappointing n for that reason I don't think I'll be dealing with Royal caribbean ever again. That was mine n my daughter's only complaint. That drink package would have been truly a rip off. It was as if there wasn't alcohol in our drinks at all smh.
Interesting video. We were on Oasis year one (2010) and are returning for a New Years cruise later this year. This will be our fourth NewYears cruise they are amazing. Thanks for the clues. Happy sailing Gents :)
Tried the Oasis once but did not like the size. We prefer the smaller, more intimate ships like the Radiance class. We cruise for the ambience of being at sea, and do not need, or want, constant entertainment. To each his own!
Just did the transatlantic. Hadca 24/7 party. I cannot, however, agree with you about the food. Main dining room and buffet food: nothing to write home about. In one word, “blah”. The “150” specialty restaurant was also blah and the service less than blah. As my friend, said: Putting on a black jacket does not make you a fine waiter or maitre d The latter could not have cared whether our table of 6 ($500+) was there or not. He could hardly raise a “Good evening”. Have done many cruises on various cruise lines.
I just subscribed today. My niece and I have our own Cruise TH-cam channel and we're sailing on Oasis in October! I'd like to clarify something for Royal Caribbean newbies: while the Solarium is adults only, if you have kids that are just passing through or eating at the Bistro, totally fine.
We are going on cruise number 68. Have been on Oasis before and will be on Feb.26th of 23. Great ship, you have to forget the small stuff and enjoy the over all experience. How blessed to be able to cruise.
We absolutely love cruising no matter what the negatives are. We provide our reviews so people can plan in advance and be ready to have the best cruise possible! 🥳
About to start working on Oasis in finance, can't wait to see you enjoying yourselves again soon! Singing is my hobby, so who knows if there's a karaoke machine nearby, I'll see you there! ☺️
If you have great service mention crew member’s names, they really appreciate it, we always take the names of wonderful stateroom attendants, dining room staff & bar staff & make sure Royal knows how lucky they are to have wonderful crew, happy cruising 🚢
Very similar to our video review of Oasis of the Seas! We loved everything about that ship, and sailed Norweigan later in the year (much to our regret). The buffet and all food overall was just sooooo much better on Royal!
My son and I were on Oasis a few years ago and we absolutely loved it. The shows were the best and he loved Sorrento's and Central Park Cafe. We never get the wifi. I still love this ship and always will. We also sailed Allure.
Love Oasis of the Seas! Thanks for the update because it helps for the next time I sail on this ship of another Oasis class ship! Hope you are enjoying your Iceland trip! 🛳
I was on this same cruise with you guys! I saw you during one of the formal nights taking pictures! Just subscribed ☺️ I was not a fan of the Oasis ship 🫢 Found it to be way too crowded and big! Found the venues to be way too small for the amount of people. Also, our water in the room was so hot!
Hi JB! Thanks for watching and subscribing! We literally read your comment and thought you said “waiter” at first glance and was like, “Huh. Good to know. 😅” Then we re-read it and saw it said “water”. 😂 funny misread for sure! 😂
Thank you for this review. I will be on Oasis in late January for the first time and your review hit pretty much everything I was looking for. The Good - all the things you said were good are the things I am looking forward to the most. Great food, great (quick) drink service, and lots to do! The bad- everything you mentioned, I can deal with. The ugly - I can't wait to unplug for a week so that is actually a good thing as far as I'm concerned, but I also just got word this week that the new STARLINK internet is up and running and being offered, so anyone who needs internet should be set.
Specialty restaurants were great. Chops grill and 150 Park. Siloam breakfast was better than Windjammer. Could not book shows as by the time we boarded most were sold out. Oct 16th thru Oct 23rd was very cold. Main dining food prime rib was fatty and tuff the first night. Beef tenderloin, salmon and lamb shank were great. Suggestions that food should be eaten by the chefs. Also shrimp was slightly raw.
We *JUST* returned from the Oasis from the 8/15-8/21 cruise. Unfortunately we couldn't try Portside BBQ, even though we heard it was awesome. We did have Izumi for lunch, and it was great! We had bad experiences (several) in the MDR, even though we had reserved dining (family of 12), and it WASN'T any of the service people. The food was hit or miss, and some problems with some of the glassware. The WindJammer was by far the best food that wasn't specialty. I agree with just about everything you said in your video. As for enttertainment, I couldn't stand Cats, and I heard others say the same, while I also heard that some LOVED it...I fell asleep twice before I left. The performers were GREAT, but the rewriting of the script made it very awkward and confusing. Ice show was great, Aqua 80 was fantastic (the mashup music was so intricate!)...the beginning looked like a cheerleading competition, but it quickly became awesome. The Eagles tribute band was SPOT ON! The ice show was great if you understand the stories being shown...I found myself singing ""You'll Be Back" at one point. The photography purchasing was awful...whoever wrote the GUI for the kiosks should be fired. The free movies on TV are gone...it was an experience to watch Shrek in Portugese several years ago, and I was looking forward to something like that again while drifting off to sleep...oh well. If you were on the same cruise, I'm sorry we didn't see you!
Thanks Paul for watching and sharing your experiences!! We are so happy to hear you had some awesome times and hope others can learn from your additional concerns (we forgot to mention photo purchasing process which was quite unfortunate 😅). Overall, a wonderful ship! 🥳
Oasis is awesome I had a beautiful time.. it was so many different things to do and have fun and so much to eat and drink 😊 just lovely ..I will be going back to vacation on her again 👍💯
Hi guys which sailing did you go on? Not sure if you two have been on Harmony yet. I will be sailing it this coming Nov 2022. Will be mine and my wife’s first Oasis experience.
Hey Aron, we did this sailing this summer and have gone on Harmony of the Seas but have yet to do a full tour or room tour yet. That is coming in early 2023 😉
Im on Oasis in October, i hope the internet is better. I planned on working that week but may have to play it by ear. Im super excited for portside bbq, its not showing open for lunch on my sailing but im still 40 days out so hopefully that changes. You can actually book my time dining on the cruise planner before you board, you have to do each night separately but it can be done. I have the unlimited specialty dining but wanted to reserve for lobster night. There is an outlet behind the bed in the cabins. I have asked in the cruise group im in because i use a cpap and wanted to be prepared.
We hope to do a comparison vid of all Oasis Class soon! (We’ve been on them all and they are all wonderful but have some differences most aren’t aware of when booking)☺️
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’m considering Oasis of the Sea for summer 2023 with my kids. I have a couple questions… Is there an extra fee for the carousel? Do you need to make a reservation for the Aqua show and ice show? Thank you.
hi, my son I came back came back today from the Oasis of the Seas and loved it. There is no fee to get on the Carousel and yes you need to make reservations for the Aquatic and Ice show. As soon as you get on the ship I advice that you book immediately. the Aquatic gets booked up very quickly, it's an amazing show from beginning to end.
Sad to hear they still haven't figured out My Time Dining. We had a similar experience pre-pandemic on the Independence of the Seas and vowed to never to My Time Dining again. Contrast this to our experience on Carnival (also pre-pandemic), we were very impressed with Carnival's version of My Time Dining.
Please note that this is the first time we’ve ever had problems with my time dining on Royal Caribbean (that is why we made note of it). We usually have the best service and easy time walking right in when we wish to eat. So this is not normal post-cruise restart. ☺️
I loved, loved, loved my cruise on Oasis of the Seas last December. You hit all the highlights I loved - great hot dogs at Broadway Dogs, wonderful breezes in the Solarium, ready drink service anywhere on ship and the Ice Show and Aqua Theater. I also loved their speciality dining. The Internet was iffy for me. It was really bad in certain areas of the Solarium and in certain parts of my stateroom at times. But overall the ship was magical.
This video was done in 2022, not 2023. I do not appreciate the dishonesty with the title. Things have changed since this video was made and you should reflect the truth of the time period in the video title.
Hi Kay, search optimization matters on TH-cam and to be completely honest, besides the menus in the main dining room, things haven’t changed onboard within the last four months. (A video could be marked 2022 but be from January 2022 when one is watching in December 2022…That’s 11 months a part) As to the dining menu changes, we do not mind them and have had them on multiple Royal Ships. Since they are the same across the fleet, that would be the only update necessary to add to this video. That said, the rest of this review stands the same and is relevant. Hope this helps clarify!
I just came back yesterday! It was an amazing sailing, my second time on oasis (first time was in 2012) and I loved it more this time! Wished I saw this sooner, part of the 30k crew 😌
Hi Jared and Jordan love all your cruising vlogs. You are spot on with your review. I just went on the oasis in May out of Nj. It was so convenient for me since I live here. First I want to say I loved the cruise I hope to go again. All your points were spot on. I hope that Royal listens to what you say. I also agree the pool in the adult solarium needs to be changed it’s a waste if precious space cannot fit enough people. I loved all the shows except cats the performers were fantastic but I’m sorry couldn’t get into it. The servers were fantastic both in the bars and as well as in dining. My room attendant did a wonderful job taking care of my room.. I didn’t need the Wi-Fi like you guys so I can’t really comment. Thanks again for all your wonderful travels.
The wi-fi was terrible on Oasis for my parents when they cruised a few months ago as well. Until I watched this review I thought it was my parents’ fault since they’re not tech-savvy.
I'm sorry you had such issues with the internet. I've cruise on that ship a number of times and always found the internet great. But, that was all prior to the pandemic!!!
Great review. Can't figure out why Royal cannot perfect the My Time Dining on their Oasis class ships. Even if you have a reservation, there is still a long line. We'll be doing Main Dining with an assigned time when we next cruise on the Allure in November from TX since we'll be going with a group. Off to look at cruises on the Oasis! Thanks again, JJ Cruise!
My time dining for us has always been great on Royal until Covid. Since the start back it has not been the same and we heard it’s because of the crew staff shortage which has affected the dining and kitchen staff too. Hopefully that won’t last much longer.
Yea I hated the trivia situation on Oasis, and the MDR was meh.. I prefer the ships that have 3500 or less. Our last trip on Celebrity had less than 2000 on it and it was HEAVEN---Celebrities wifi stunk. It has been a while since we have been on Oasis. Thanks for the reviews!
This was our first cruise and the Oasis was all that and a bag of chips! We sailed 9/18/2022 from New Jersey for a week and it was AWESOME ❤️❤️❤️
Easy peasy.
Thanks Barbara for watching and commenting your experiences!! 🤗🥳
Traveling her in Jan. Did allure ,so now excited to go on Oasis. Thanks for your comments.
I found if you use the Internet into the wee hours of the morning, it works better, plus if you can get a cabin near the navigation area, it's even better.
Good to know! ☺️

Great review! I've been in Allure and Wonder sailing Oasis next year. I'm really looking forward to portside BBQ. Good tip in the wifi!
Yes!! Enjoy Portside BBQ!! It is delish! 🤤
Txs. GR8 info. Going w G’kids next summer
Thanks for watching Anna!! 🤗🥳
I'm sailing next Sunday on Oasis....hope all the kids are back in school!!!!
We hope so too, but if not you’ll still have an awesome cruise!
I enjoy watching and always value your opinions.
Thanks Rose! 🤗
@@JJCruise Awesome thanks!
Great video. Thanks
Looking into cruising with oasis in February, is it possible to get drink pass just for certain days? Or do you have to get it for the whole 7 days?
Must get drink package for entire sailing ☺️
Im on Oasis in October, i hope the internet is better. I planned on working that week but may have to play it by ear. Im super excited for portside bbq, its not showing open for lunch on my sailing but im still 40 days out so hopefully that changes. You can actually book my time dining on the cruise planner before you board, you have to do each night separately but it can be done. I have the unlimited specialty dining but wanted to reserve for lobster night. There is an outlet behind the bed in the cabins. I have asked in the cruise group im in because i use a cpap and wanted to be prepared.
Which sailing are you on? I leave for my October Oasis cruise in less than 60 days!
Thanks Jenn for watching and sharing!! Portside BBQ needs no reservations, just come and go as you please. 🥳
Did you have any hurricane issues? or weather, Sailing OCt 8th coming up
Very helpful review! We look forward to sailing on the Oasis someday soon (hopefully)!
She’s one awesome ship! Thanks for watching! 🤗❤️
I have a small USB hub with ports for 7devices.
I would love to see a comparison video between the oldest oasis class and the newest.
We hope to do a comparison vid of all Oasis Class soon! (We’ve been on them all and they are all wonderful but have some differences most aren’t aware of when booking)☺️
I’m hoping to go on this cruise one day! Love your videos. Been following for the last month 🥰
Thanks Amy!! 🤗
@@annmariesmith3697 thank you for your tips Annmarie! ☺️
@@MeowMeow-vo9cj you are very welcome
Sailing on September 4 , I’m so excited
Have a great cruise!
Glad that you had a great cruise
You guys look you like you have so much fun!
We have a blast cruising! How can you not! 🥳
MMMM Port Side BBQ got me drooling.
SOOO GOOD!!! 🤤
I did My Time Dining on Harmony and made reservations at least a day before with very little waiting.
Thanks for watching and commenting your experiences!! We love Oasis OTS too!!
(A video could be marked 2022 but be from January 2022 when one is watching in December 2022…That’s 11 months a part)
As to the dining menu changes, we do not mind them and have had them on multiple Royal Ships.
Yes!! Thanks for joining the 30k Crew!!
We ❤️ Oasis! Such an awesome ship! 🥳
Loved your review! Can’t wait to be on it again! 😘
Have a blast! 🚢🥳
Please try to hit on the speciality dining and menus in tbe future! A lot of pwople cruise to booze and eat!
Great review guys TY
Thank you for watching and commenting! 🤗🥳
Great information 👍thank's
Thanks for watching!! 🤗
Thanks Jessica for watching and sharing your experiences! We are glad to hear you had a similar experience to us!
Such an awesome cruise!
I love that ship I was on there September 11th
Doesn't Oasis have SpaceX. I'm currently sailing on Allure and the streaming is fine 🙂
Freedom of the Seas has Elon Musks new Wi-Fi and it was good for us! 🥳
I'm going in November. Thank you for the information. Part of your 30k.
Thanks for joining the 30k!!! 🥳
The wi-fi was terrible on Oasis for my parents when they cruised a few months ago as well. Until I watched this review I thought it was my parents’ fault since they’re not tech-savvy.
Going on oasis in 3 weeks, can't wait.
Have a Blast!! 🥳
Aqua80 is my absolute favorite of any cruise show I’ve seen so far. I go any chance I can while on Oasis. It’s so fun! 🪩🛹
Portside BBQ was our family's favorite!
It’s SO good!!!
Love the good bad and ugly theme, our experience on internet was also the “ugly”, we were on the Allure of the Seas
Thanks for sharing your ugly of Allure of the Seas! 🤗
I love Oasis of the seas! It’s been my favorite ship so far. Love your reviews ❤
Thanks Vicki! We love Oasis of the Seas too!! ❤️
Was the Buffet on the top deck open 24/7?
No it is not. 😞
@@JJCruise aww when does it close? But other food places will be open or at least one? Or free room service?
Thanks!
I’m cruising on the Allure Sept 3. I’m one of the. 30k
Thanks for joining the 30k!! 🥳🤗
Like the JJ cruise shirt do you sell them
We do! www.MouthyTees.com
There is another outlet behind the bed… our room attendant showed us this out;et
Good to know!
I bring a charger with. 2 outlet for charging. Charge the battery pack during the day. It also charges a lot faster.
Can't wait until June 30 2023 ...to go.with my fiance...
We love the Oasis of the Seas (2 times).
Such an awesome ship!! 🥳
I want to see aqua 80s.
It’s an amazing spectacle!
Have you already cruised the wonders of the seas
We have! You can find out ship tour and honest review on our channel! 🥳
Great review
Thanks!! 🤗
I'm sorry you had such issues with the internet. I've cruise on that ship a number of times and always found the internet great. But, that was all prior to the pandemic!!!
We were shocked too! Hopefully it will be fixed for future sailings. 🤞🏽
Thanks for watching and commenting your thoughts on the Oasis class as well! She is definitely a fave of ours! ❤️🥳
Thanks for watching and commenting your thoughts as well!! 🤗
Oasis or symphony??

I am putting a pineapple with a pride flag on my Oasis to Spain cabin! YAY
Aayyyeee 😀‼️
Looking forward to the good, the bad, and the ugly lol when we set sail Oct 9!!
Coming so soon!! 🥳
Im on the sailing prior to yours, ill wave as I get off lol
I heard they changed the solarium age to 18 and up now! But even when it was 16 I’ve never seen 16 year olds hanging out in there.. not their vibe lol
Yes! 18+ now!
24 hour hot tubs. yes baby, yes!!!
