We covered close to 4km on the 400! That was using a rebreather though so a bit chunkier than normal scuba gear. The 200 would be half that (so the theory)
Sorry, forgot to add: That test run was done on a bit more than 70% of the speed possible. Now if you go slower your range will increase, however that was already around 50 Minutes (in 40 meters) so.... we didn't want to slow the process much more :D
Hi and thanx for the video. Did you ever try Aqua Marina Bluedrive X ? I don't finds reviews on youtube about it and from the official presentation video it seems sluggish and slow.
Well, so 2 seasons in, the 40amph battery (not plane version) died on us completely but the little one has minimum (if any) loss in battery life or speed
Hi there I just watched your video on the little scooter very nice but it would be nice if you gave me a price even at the current time so I get an idea when I'm comparing models so add price would be good
Have you used any other underwater scooters for scuba ? I was looking at the $700 Yamaha ones. Wondering if this is better. I like the compactness look of this one. Nevermind just looked up the price of this. Not comparable.
Never had my hands on the yamaha ones, but many of the chunky cheap ones do really bad in salt water and break in no time. The scubajets are standing up to the elements pretty well so far - which is basically THE key feature for an underwater scooter...
The scuba jet is small and easy to carry, thats its primary benefit, otherwise there are cheaper and better options out there. Plus, watch out for non-flight capable batteries. Scubajet offers them but you have to be careful and buy the right one. The Yamaha thing I dont if it can be taken on a plane, but I know it would take up a whole suitcase.
Hey bro, I’m looking at getting this and am still waiting for a reply from the company so if you don’t mind, I have some questions. Is it louder than a propeller one? I’m a freediving instructor so my main use will be doing safety, can this thing pull me at the advertised 2m/s? Do you think I’d need the bigger battery one? The Pro looks fine and it’s basically as long as my forearm so with the single hand controller and a mounted GoPro it sounds perfect. Any other thoughts on it would be greatly appreciated 😊🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Freediving the 2m/sec are possible, with a tank and full gear i think a bit slower than that. The small one (200amph) lasts around 15 minutes if pushed at fulk speed, the 400 amp one obviously double. Noise level is certainly there, as it is a small impeller, so basically a high pitch noise, not so audible while in the water but rather annoying on videos ;-( Personally i like the big one for video work and a camera (using the paralenz) mounted on it, as it gives you a nice heavy weight for balancing and calm videos without shaking. Small one works well too but personal preference is the bigger one. I only have the two handle version which is not that easy to use with one hand as it tends to pull you in circles unless you tied it to your weightbelt - that works well though! And keeps one hand free for equalizing. If you have any other questions dont hessitate to ask. I never had a big prop scooter so cant really compare the noise levels....
I sure think and know so, we even doubeled up in full dive gear. Two people snorkelling/freediving is easy! Works best if holding on to the ankles of the first person ;-)
It is noisy (like every prop/impeller/jet). If you keep the speed low a lot less so, but it certainly scares fish away when coming close - but so do bubbles and divers all together. For long seagrass transects they are great though, so it depends a bit on what you aim to see
Be sure if you guys buy one of these that you get the flight capable batteries. This company is from Austria and when I first bought mine their website was broken English and rough, and I had no idea they had two types of batteries. It cost an extra 1300 dollars to go back and buy the flight capable batteries because the company originally promised to exchange my battery but they didn't have any stock. After 2 years, they never honored their agreement with me. I cant dive without one because I have a Lis Franc foot injury, metal and screws holding my midfoot joint
Really sorry to hear about your experience there! They made it VERY clear to us there is different batteries (fly and no fly versions) but since we are travelling by boat we opted for the non flight capable versions....
@@ProjectManaia It was not clear at all 2 or 3 years ago. They changed their website for a sale, there was never any mention of it and they knew it, that's why they kept at least saying they would replace or swap out the batteries. Then they kept telling me, "oh we don't have any supply right now, 30 more days.....". I even offered to keep this battery if they would give me a discount on the flight capable pack, despite their promises to replace it completely, because I could see they were going to be uncooperative. They could have at least told me the truth, that they had no intentions of honoring their words, and then I would not have waited for 2 years with a useless unit. I would have at least bought another pack and been able to use it on my dives instead of further aggravating my injury (I cant walk without crutches the day after a two tank dive). They wont even respond to me at all anymore. Shows you their character. Like I said, I've got the emails where they make the promises, and no battery pack. I'm happy they made it clear to you, but that has no bearing on me and how I was treated.
I am really sorry to hear about that experience - does not sound like a fair treatment at all. Also happy to hear the things on the website changed at least. And lastly: Since I live close to their base in Austria right now, if you think a "in person visit" would help your situation and might progress the efforts to get the right batteries, please reach out to me in "private" at manuel(AT)projectmanaia.at and I will try to help you out!
Is there a weight limit for these? Can a 400lb person use this. Also, what is better, this one or the lefeet s1pro?
Where did you get the sling attachment? Great idea!!
I don't need to go fast but do need to cover some ground. What kind of range can i expect in full scuba gear with the 200 and 400?

How is the battery life after all this time compared to when it was new? Speed of the motor and how long it lasts compared to when it was new? Thanks.
Well, so 2 seasons in, the 40amph battery (not plane version) died on us completely but the little one has minimum (if any) loss in battery life or speed
Is there a way to mount a compass and a dive computer on the scooter for precise navigation and easy availability of depth, etc. information?
Computer yes. As the electric engine is basically a compass it will be very much off...

Exactly! Ot is a nice and very portable device. Even though batteries are not exactly lightweight...
i guess I'm quite off topic but does anyone know a good site to stream newly released movies online?
@Shepherd Angel lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it on google =)

@@ProjectManaia awesome, thank you!!
No problem
how about the noise pollution? it is super silent not disturbing the animals around?

No worries, i try to be quick ;-)
Need to turn down the music it makes it hard to hear you
Needs a rear view mirror so you can see the sharks chasing you. 😋
That certainly is one of the most creative additions yet 😂
@@ProjectManaia I actually think there may be a market for a motorised shark cage with a streamlined design for efficiency.
Haha, could be a niche market perhaps but sounds like an interesting project ;-)

...so, 15 minutes and the unit is heavy and dead with you like some baggage ?
Over complicated. An on/off switch is all that is needed. A remote control that can let the machine run away. How stupid and over complicated.
