Maybe a Momentary switch you can hold down with your fingers wired to a relay would be better than a damn double pole throw ac breaker.. still pretty cool
Very good for a concept. Install straight motors without gear boxes, programmable motor controllers, and a sealed throttle device. This thing could go much faster and with programmed ramps you could get much better performance. Maybe even tighten up the clearances between the props and the tubes to get greater thrust from them too. Great project and great results.
This same concept designed onto the hull of a canoe or kayak would really be badass, primarily for its ability to push through weeds and debris without tangling up the props . Amazing potential here.Nice.
That's cool! If you placed a larger step up cone facing forward to be a scoop then a step down at the back to increase thrust you'd be surprised at the outcome. I must admit sir, you have a lot of odd components on hand. Do you have an ebay store or family owned hardware store? Very impressed. Please keep up the good work, you give me lots of ideas.
Man if you built those impellers like they built the jets on jet skis then you'd get ten times the power out of those props. All the water is cavitating around the blades . Makes me wanna build this for my kayak.
Sweet, nicely done, thank you for demonstrating the assembly, and most importantly the actual use of it…. I love it! Dude you should just make a bunch of them and sell them as aerators (avoid the lawsuit crazy crowd), this would be good for an investor.

@Rey Cassius I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
He probably built it before and was juat showing us how otherwise , no you wouldn't have 2 dc motor and shafts and propellars that match all of your perfectly matched pieces of pvc pipe as well as batteries and most other hardware. It worked great !
Beautifully executed and a wonderful scraps box you have. Love the welded pipe construction. It does occur to me that the butt-weld for the cowling tangs might be vulnerable. If you were to use two endcaps for the motor mount, back-to-back you could sandwich the rubber seal between them. You could then weld the tangs inside the second endcap. Lovely work.
Very good invention, but you should install a bracelet cable to turn off the engines if you accidentally let go. something like those used by jet skis.
@MANBEARPIG 7734 at the moment the propellors propulse the water partially into his body, making the shaft longer will have the propulsion outlet behind his body Less resistance in the path of the outlet means going faster
Im going to go out on a limb here with a crazy guess that this guy has his doctorate in electrical or mechanical engineering or something. I mean, this is what he does for fun? I wish I had half the tools and skills he does. Wow. Impressive.
One important thing.. One motor should have been wired backwards to create a counter rotating engine. This give stability and allows it to go straight without manipulation. Common practice on all multi engine setups weather a plane or vessel. But the idea is excellent for a kayak. Or something similar.
That was one of the greatest videos yet. I'd want to make one that doesn't put the motors, swtiches and batteries in the water. But something I could add onto a 2-person inflatable Kayak. I Love this video, Keep it coming. Maybe one day I will actually build something from your series, if I'm lucky.
Needs a dead man switch so it won't run away on you, a couple of fins on the front for better depth control, and some kind of arm brace so you can get better pitch control in the water. Pretty cool.
👍 for max performance tho should it be wider so it’s not pushing against you? Hopefully you can read this but if not that’s ok we still share another language. Just Do It
Interesting to watch. Totally sealing off the batteries seems a bit odd and I can't see the glands he cut from a bike tube lasting long. I see this as more a proof of concept rather than a functional project but still pretty cool in a geeky sort of way.
40 years from Now..Man says to The media “my inspiration for getting us to Mars started when I was building PVC watercraft in my moms kitchen.
Needs a tether. If your hands let go it could be a long swim.
Deadman switch.
Don’t worry, I built one it can’t get away from me, I put a tether on it and put it around my neck, lol😂

If only because if you let go.....your scooter is going to be very lonely on its trip.
Didnt realize what meant by a sea scooter.till the end.outstanding.

It would also help if most of the thrust wasn't going down his pants
And add a deadman switch on a tether so the thing doesn't get away from ya
He did a pretty damn good job using materials he found around the house, I'd give him on a scale of one to ten about a "12".
Great points thank you
comment it is always easier than doing it. all those stuff never works in the first attempt

Man if you built those impellers like they built the jets on jet skis then you'd get ten times the power out of those props. All the water is cavitating around the blades . Makes me wanna build this for my kayak.
Those switches dont like water. Maybe a coupple of relays and a pair of reed switches and magnets would be able to make it completely waterproof?
Put rubber button boots on them. Thats simpler
Also should be momentary switching mechanism in case you let go.
Guaranteed to last 5 minutes in the water. Or not.
I'm sure you could also seal them with something like silicone grease.
Looks like a tether of some kind would prevent it from taking off across the lake and leaving the operator behind?
Amazing work!

Just had the same thought. Thinking of a way to make outriggers that double as propultion and can use rod mounts....
That's exactly what I was thinking mounted on a kayak

Super creative alike the ingenuity that went into it. I saw something like this at CES2020. 🤩
Las Vegas?
A dead man switch might be a good addition, in case it scapes your grip.
Also adhesive as the prop guard sounds like an accident waiting to happen. There should be some mechanical fastener to keep it in place.
I’d like to see Colin furze remake this
Colin furze would make it powered by an actual jet engine, or rocket or something
Collin fur would use welding and tools I prolly dont have
Chuck Norris would build it and then beat up Colin Furze just for trying to make it better than him.😎👍
Colin fur would use a pulse jet above water 💧

Right. Counter rotating and mirror image prop pitch.
That would be correct if it was not inside the tube. But they will not act that way
Good success ! Give you some advice. You need a latch switch with a rope attached. When you miss, the motor will stop. The Scooter will not run away.
