Today I will show you , how to connect multiple computers on a local network running Windows 10.
If there are computers running Windows 7 or Windows 8 on the network, then the sharing settings for them are configured in much the same way as in Windows 10. The folder for which public access is open on a computer with Windows 10, will be displayed without problems in the network environment on Windows 7 computer and vice versa. The main thing is that network discovery is enabled on all computers.

Worked for me after a few tries to find all the settings. File and device setting has evolved over the years, so its a bit like installing printers. Remember Homegroups?

This is really precise and effective tutorial. Thanks for that. I want to ask, is there a way that even switching off my computer, the other computer can access my files? In the current setting it is not possible.

it was so easy back then in windows 7, why is it complicated now?
I did this but cannot see the other computers in the network. What am I doing wrong. Does it have to do that the 2nd computer is connected through Wifi? It's a Laptop without ethernet port.
Although all these items you say are already done on my PC, and I can see all the other PCs.. they appear no problem i cannot connect to them it tells me Not accessible i need permission and to contact the system administrator.

While the instructions are exceptional the fact is that Windows 10 networking does not seem to work. I keep getting access denied contact administrator. I followed step by step on another computer, and then did the same for all other computers. All computers ate using Windows 10 and they are networked/connected by hardwire through a Netgear router.
Do the 2 computers need to be connected to each other via ethernet cable? Or just both on the same wifi network? I have 2 computers that used to work that way just fine. But when we upgraded to a new pc we can't get them to connect like the old one was.
I showed in this video a connection diagram in which computers can be connected to a wi-fi router with a cable or wi-fi connection - in any of these ways, there is no difference.
In this scheme, computers should not be connected with a cable to each other, but only to a router.
Old or new PC - it doesn't matter either, you can configure one network among PCs running Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows 10.

I'm using win10 on my dekestop, and win11 on my laptop. Now the two computer are seeing eachother in the networks, but both ask for user log into connect to the other one. Does anybody know what could be the problem, or how can I assign users to the computers?
If one of the computers has a Microsoft account, then we do the following for it:
open Settings, then Accounts, open the Your Info tab, and click Sign in with a local account instead.
Sometimes problems occur if you have a local account on one computer and a Microsoft account on another.
If a window appears asking you to enter network information when you open a second computer, try the following:

You right , he supposed to clarify this point because me also confused.
Keep it disabled 'Don't allow remote connections to this computer' like he shows in the video, but not what he says. This isn't critical, but a good practice to secure your computer's if you do not intend to remotely connect to them from the other computers on your network.

At 05:05, Where is the "Username" folder ? We should have 3 folders : Default + Public + Username; the same as at 04:33.
Did not work, At the end I continue to get a “enter network credentials” message from Windows security asking for user name and password. After entering I get a network error stating “cannot access resolve network problems click diagnose”. That’s that.
Try choosing the option to sign in as another user, then enter the username and password of the computer you’re tying to connect to, instead of using your Microsoft or whatever account it asks you to connect with as a default

Is it possible to use this in order for me to view another computer on my network and scan ALL of its content for potential threats? I didn't see the "my pc" entire directory in this video.
In order to completely scan another computer, there are special programs that open access to content.
The method shown in this video only allows access to folders or virtual drives, but not all content.

I think the reason is that one of the computers has a local account and the other has a Microsoft account.
Try to do the following:
on a PC with a Microsoft account, open Settings, then Accounts, then open the "Your Info" tab, and here click "Sign in with a local account instead."
To have a local account on all PCs.
This will not affect the overall operation of the PC, but the problem should be solved.
My 3 Windows 10 Pc's are connected over a wifi. So ethernet option you are telling cannot be used. Any help?

I'm sorry to say this, but Windows does not provide the ability to edit such files remotely, that is, locally.
You can download such a file to your computer and, after editing, send it again over the network to where you got it from.

No drivers were installed on the network card.
There is no sharing setting.
Disabled/Enabled protocol
Errors in network security settings.
SMB v1/CIFS support is disabled.
The registry is not configured correctly.
Required services are not running.

The Computer voice does not match some of the things you are doing nor does it match description. One example is the information is almost opposite of what the option in windows says lol at about 2:10
