Dang, right after I bought the San Martin one. But this watch offers what I wanted from San Martin, a better bracelet. I've come to the realization that quality is in the bracelet, almost all brands now make exceptional watch cases and dials, and it's the bracelet quality that makes something worth more or distinguishes it from the others. As most brands put generic 3 link bracelets to their watches, when a bracelet has polished beveled edges and extra details, its definitely worth the little extra. Cronos has usually made the best quality bracelets for their watches, with the little detail of sloped links so it fits snug with the clasp, and minimized any gap. I might have to pick this one up too, hopefully I can also buy an extra bracelet and swap it on the san martin.
Cronos make nice watches - I recently bought one. Personally though I'm extremely tired of the fad for GMTs and would have preferred a 3-handed version of this.
@@Andrew-yy2yeI think ETA restricts their supplies so that’s not really a great option. SM is using a Miyota movement in their new GADA. That’s about the best we can expect.

I'm less enamoured with caller GMTs like this, but it still would serve 2/3s of what I use mine for and is much cheaper. I do agree I'd like this more as a 3 hand as well, but I promise quite a few people use it.
Gary, Can I please give you some advice about your thumbnails and titles. Please include a full picture of the watch on the thumbnail and what it is in the title. I know you are trying to get people to click on your videos by being vague about the watch, but for me I'm much less likely to click on them. I want to know what the watch is, also if I'm interested in buying at a later date, I would want to be able to search for it again, and your current "click bait" doesn't allow me to do that.
Honestly, I probably only watch half of Gary's videos, depending on if I think it's worth the gamble or not. And half of what I do watch, I skip through to find out what it is, then click away. I'm more likely to take a channel more seriously and watch the full videos, if the channel takes my attention seriously and tells me what I'm going to be watching.
Agreed, please just put a picture of the watch on. I actually skip all of your videos for this exact reason. The only reason I clicked is because the title said grand Seiko.
Bought this watch after watching your review. I love it. Its all you said about it. The clear ar coating is great on the double dome sapphire. For the first few days the timing was 'digital', and after bedding in a few days it has produced 2.25 seconds a day fast over the period of seven days since I first wound it. With hacking going fast is handy when reseting the time.
Just received this exact watch and so far very happy with it. I’ve never had to use an OTF adjustment clasp so don’t miss it. I found the Cronos bracelet and indecies to be better GS clomage details then the SM version.
Hi I have been on a waiting list for an ExplorerII for ages, to the point I just decided to buy a similar style but lot cheaper GMT. As soon as I see this I pulled the trigger, I prefer the branding San Martin says Sun Tan lotion to me.
Cronos (aka Cronus, Kronos) is the god of the harvest, not time... Chronos (with the extra 'h') was the personification of time, which is why we have chronometers. Although separate entities, apparently there's been confusion and intermingling of the two going back to antiquity, and in the renaissance it led to "father time" carrying the harvesting scythe... (though what Cronos actually did with the scythe... erm, I'll leave for folks to read up on :))
@@outcastkatsuki You are right but there is some discussion on this.. for example.. That is a very very very very nice watch Gary ! And Cronos, a mythological Greek Titan who is connected to seasons and time is a brilliant watch brand name. I was always surprised some big company didn't take that generations ago. Of course Cronos is said to be responsible for removing Uranus's gonads for some reason so maybe that was a factor. Greek mythology aside, that's one of the best GMT's I've seen to date.
Cronos is offering a nice watch with a price point that is clearly eye catching which can be concerning with the SM brand that makes very nice watches at about a $75 higher customer cost. SM has to be made aware and lower 15 percent their prices .. Thank you for your channel and great reviews.
Very nice review, loving the up close macro shots to show the build quality, but noticed the male end links so was wondering what is the effective lug to lug? Still looks like it turns down a lot so still very wearable-looking
So just as good as SM, for all practical purposes. Only reason I'd still stick with San Martin is I prefer their applied logo at 12. Cronos has made a fantastic watch here otherwise, as honestly I would have expected them to do. Certainly in terms of quality, it could be easily said a top three or four brand on Ali! Great review as always, Gary!

Hi Gary! I may have to seriously consider a Cronos the next time around! I would prefer to see this as 3 hander. I have 3 NH34 watches and I find the GMT function too difficult for me to use. An NH35 with a date, an NH38 without, or a PT5000 would be preferable.

Hi Gary, I have recently sold my San Martin because I couldn’t read the time. It was beautiful but I want to see what time it is too. Is the Cronos better in this ?

I'll take those two features and compromise on the flashy polished center links any day.
I ordered this watch after watching the video and noticed that as well after I placed my order. The photos on the AliExpress store also show this issue for both colors. I’m hoping it’s just the angle.
It’s a beautiful watch! I just wish they used the miyota 9075 GMT instead. I know the price would be a bit higher but still worth it. I own watches with both movements and the miyota is definitely higher end.
I think I prefer this to the San Martin. The on the fly adjustment does'nt really bother me ,mind you I have'nt actually tried it so maybe I don't know what I'm missing lol
Didnt realise you had influence on the brand name. Thats cool. Dont really like this dial but keeping an eye on cronos. I heard their pepsi bezel watch is amazing, possibly better than SM is what I hear.

I already have the aventurine san martin but if i was buying again i'd probably go with the chronos. They look evenely matched in finishing but i prefer the chronos logo and extra facets on the bracelet.
Very nice. I’m hoping they can get back to their old form. Their new AP Royal Oak (L6028) Homage also looks pretty nice. Thanks for showing us the watch!
I think Cronos L6028M look like Zenith skyline with dial pattern like CW the twelve and screw on bezel like Hublot. Hope it will be reviewed soon, especially the white dial ones. If Cronos could see this comment, please try to modify by rotating bezel 30 degree and moving date window to 6 o'clock position. It may look better (just maybe)
Nice pictures and great quality in the review…. I love a good GMT but everyone is stuck using a black or white dials, but at least this one does not have a boring two tone bezel.. Maybe Erebus can show them how to use color 😊
I noticed the 12 o’clock index and the 12 o’clock on the chapter ring don’t align. I ordered this watch after watching your review. The photos on AliExpress of both colors also show the issue. Is this the angle or is the 12 misaligned?
I have this Cronos and it is a great deal from the Cronos website since it is on their clearance list. The lume is the best in my collection and it runs well. But there are some negatives. The bracelet is well made but if you don't like butterfly clasps then good luck because you will find it impossible to remove the bracelet. I've tried everything but am now resigned to wearing this 177g watch as it is.
beautiful watch no doubt. The on -the-fly adjustment clasp is not something that should be a standard. I disagree. Regardless of the fact that u can micro-adjust the length of the bracelet without a tool, u still may not get the perfect fit because its not guaranteed that the link will not be in the first or last adjustment position. u need it to be somewhere in the middle and in order to achieve that every time u need a........ half-link!
I really wish they had made this as a standard 3 hand and not a GMT. That really would have separated it from the San Martin version. That being said, i am sure it will sell very well as it is.
Nice watch. My only issue is the watch looks too good for a base model seiko movement. Wish they would offer at least the chinese ETA clone movement as an option or better still the swiss eta clones.
Cronos have done a good job of separating me from my hard earned cash over the years. You're right though, they are much quieter than the other Ali big hitters. Did you ever get the 2k diver back from the hydraulic press guys?
A question! Haven't pulled the trigger on this one yet but been close too many times. So whenever I'm close to purchase I'm looking at the pictures on the Cronos site and I find the watch looking really awkward, not at all as on here! Yeah the question 😂 well, is it as beautiful as you say and as it seems in your video? Thx
I've always liked the name and the hourglass logo. Imo, the best branding of any Aliexpress brand. Well done Gary.

The hands on the Rimalti are even nicer. Capped second hand.
I noticed the 12 o’clock index and the 12 o’clock on the chapter ring don’t align. I ordered this watch after watching your review. The photos on AliExpress of both colors also show the issue. Is this the angle or is the 12 misaligned?
Not a bad looking watch. Would like to see some strap options
What about replacing the clasp only, with a micro adjust version on Ali Express? is the clasp also 20mm?
How’s the quality of the metal edges? Are there any rough edges? How comfortable is it?
Is this one better then San Martins take on this watch Homage?
Did you ever review Cronos version of the Bathyscaphe? Seems to me they didn’t sell it. And it’s a a beauty, but no videos of it, no reviews.
Beautiful watch....I think I'm going to get one
What a beauty. What a bargain!
I have a Pepsi Cronos GMT. It’s a nice watch. I’m pleased with it.
I understand Cronos have an EU store. Can you help with the url address please? Thanks.
Take a shot everytime Gary says Cronos - respect if you make it to the end sober
beautiful watch no doubt. The on -the-fly adjustment clasp is not something that should be a standard. I disagree. Regardless of the fact that u can micro-adjust the length of the bracelet without a tool, u still may not get the perfect fit because its not guaranteed that the link will not be in the first or last adjustment position. u need it to be somewhere in the middle and in order to achieve that every time u need a........ half-link!
Much better brand name and logo in comparison to San Martin.
I HATE the San Martin hexagon!
@michaelhorn8962 yeah it is like a Hiphop graffiti logo lol
super nice looking watch. Awesome finish, but without "on the fly clasp", still it can not compete with San Martin, unfortunately....
I really wish they had made this as a standard 3 hand and not a GMT. That really would have separated it from the San Martin version. That being said, i am sure it will sell very well as it is.
How can an alignment issue on chapter ring and rehaut be overseen...?
Cronos in meanwhile confirmed an issue...
I just ordered one of these
Nice watch. My only issue is the watch looks too good for a base model seiko movement. Wish they would offer at least the chinese ETA clone movement as an option or better still the swiss eta clones.
That is a fine looking watch.
Hmmmm so I guess this is a catalog case? Same one as the San Martin?
lol I hope you’re joking 😳
Looks so similar though. Regardless I did get one of those new red burst San martins after seeing your outside wrist shots. Can’t wait to wear it.
I do prefer the handset on this Cronos over the San Martin version.
Cronos have done a good job of separating me from my hard earned cash over the years. You're right though, they are much quieter than the other Ali big hitters. Did you ever get the 2k diver back from the hydraulic press guys?
looks definitely better than San Martin‘s version. Especially with the more interesting bracelet and the less bulky bezel.
Thx
I would take this over SM. Solely because of the logo alone.
such a shame its so small, it's a stunning looking watch
