  • If you are going to line up to race motocross, a holeshot device is mandatory. But traditional holeshot devices usually take two people with good timing to engage (unless you are Ken Roczen). Enter the ProTaper SELA (Self-Engaged Launch Assist) Holeshot Device that makes it a one-person job. Just turn the knob, compress the forks and you are good to go. Also, the SELA is compatible with most modern motocross bikes, since the fork ring is adjustable and there are different pin latches for different bikes.

    Looks like it works pretty good. Little easier to master than the Ken Roczen kick 🤣

    Better add some supports to the bottom of the Honda guard. It will rip off the fork guard in 10-20 starts. Pro taper knows and is working towards a fix

    I was just curious if who invented this- because I never saw a starting technique like this until a local Carlsbad rider in 93- so my question is ; did the inventor used to race at Carlsbad back then? Thx Brian

    I Sport two sack concrete over my bars, dump
    them in the first corner, cost is about $9.00 and
    I don't damage the fork guards or forks.
    Does it get me the holeshot, (?) no, I'll never get it, but
    at least I feel like I'm hip, like everyone else, and at a fraction of the cost!.

      If there’s a little bit of mud, it malfunctions and sticks causing the device not to retract, it’s dangerous and especially dangerous if there’s a big jump after the start and you do not have full motion of the forks! I’ve seen it happen!

      Been racing for over 20 years and ive never bought into holeshot devices. If your technique is good, you wont need it.

      @BoostedFB6 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@chrisbecvar391 I mean with perfect technique it would just allow you to add more power and go a bit faster... idk why you purists are bashing a commonly used piece of equipment nobody is forcing you to use it

    • @chrisbecvar391
      @chrisbecvar391 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoostedFB6 Im not bashing anyone. Some people need it, some dont. I personally never used a holeshot device because I felt my technique was good enough and my starts were consistent.

      This is exactly what the pros say, but they all use this type
      of device.
