I know that you have said that the plastic sitz tubs that go on your toilet are bad but in the week since I’ve started using it, I have seen a definite improvement in my fissure pain. I was in agony with every bowel movement. I tried all of the suggestions from my doctor to keep my stool soft and still had intense pain and bleeding. I figured that the sitz bath couldn’t hurt and after a week I’ve been able to have a bowel movement with just a bit of pain. I’m 64 years old with knee replacements so having a bath isn’t an option. I’ve tried the shower method but with my knees I can only hold that position for a few minutes. I’ve also found a good video about reverse Kegal exercises and I think that has helped too. My doctor prescribed a compound ointment but the pharmacy hasn’t prepared it yet. I might not even need it if things keep improving. I’ve been struggling with this pain for almost 3 months. Today I finally feel human again. I will find your video about the plastic sitz baths and watch it. Now I’m curious about why I shouldn’t use it. LOL

Ok I watched your video and realized that you were referring to using them for hemorrhoids. I purchased the exact sitz bath that you showed first in your video. It actually has a larger opening than the toilet seat does because you put the seat up and the sitz bath is placed directly on the toilet. I do have one hemorrhoid but surprisingly it has not been bothering me at all. All I can say is that right now it has been a lifesaver for me. ❤️
I do love your videos though! Thank you for taking the time to share your information!

I like to lay on my bed with a heating pad after bowel movement. It relaxes my back and bottom end. Even just 10 minutes helps. I used to immediately go for a brisk walk or do aerobic exercise but I noticed that I would flare up. Just taking 10 minutes with heating pad a few times per day always is relaxing. Currently sitting in a sitz bath trying not to cry. I’m 29 weeks pregnant and in the process of moving. While lifting a box my hemorrhoids decided to make themselves known to the outside world. No creams, suppository or anything is helping and my OB won’t return my calls (I’ve been trying to be seen for a week).

When the pediatrician asked why I was clammy, sweaty and shaking I explained to her my problem and that I couldn’t get ahold of my OB. She called my OB, the OB called me on her personal phone and got me in that afternoon to lance it. She squeezed out a chunk of coagulated blood the size of my thumb and I got up feeling 100x better, despite the fact that she didn’t numb me up before lancing.
I sashayed down that hallway on my way out, what a relief!

I'm on my second Perianal absess surgery, I find it best to use a clean tub with 4-6 inches of warm water with a bit of epsom salt. i take my phone with me and rest it on a small chair or stool, some nice comedy or movie passes the time swiftly. When you're done using the bathroom, or #2, I use my shower wand to do the cleanup my wipes don't, especially if you are tender down there. after cleaning downstairs area spray down the tub, to clean, and then get your sits bath going. preperation is key so you dont kill yourself in the bathroom, so have your towel, slip mats, epsom, and table/stool, phone/tablet and all Sitz bath helpers ready. Safe and swift recovery to all!

Please make a short video on best sleep position if you have a flare up or please respond to my post. I’m not sure if side or back straight on the bed is better.

Hello doc. Loving your videos. Hit the subscription in the 1st video itself. I had a query. I've got a serious problem with sitz bath. I do my sitz bath in a baby pool kind of tub. But being a female my urinary tract is exposed to the bacteria in water and causing painful UTI. please talk about this in your next video as it is a gender specific problem and must have been a cause of unavoidable pain for many.

    Hi
Doctor we cannot have tub bath in our bathroom because they are small. I purchased sitz bath on Amezon and in the beginning I felt good but after some days I realized it is actually making things bad so stopped using them even though I was sitting for 10 minutes only.

  • @amymoyfshgylgjkkjmmvn5517

Wait… so the main point is just to relax while bathing? So why does it have to be a bath if you can relax while laying in bed and water temp isn’t a factor?
