Nice 2 day local trip. Based on your question about what you bought but didnt use. When I was younger and did similar trips with mates we agreed occasionally to bring one item of food that would be enough for the amount of people going on the trip. Nobody would know what you bought until it was time to cook. We then had to come up with a recipe based on that food. This led to some very strange meals.

I confess that I love this sort of experience because I'm a gear junkie. I just love bikes, tents, and camp cookery. It's the temporary self-sufficiency element that's just a fun change of speed from normal life.

Great video, I have just got into wild camping at the age of 64, and really love it, wish I had started years ago, it was the lack of campsites due to covid that forced me to do it, this week next working in Northampton, so been cycling along the Northampton branch of the Grand Union canal on my way from hotel to work,
Excellent video, I must admit I feel a bit anxious when you're riding the towpath's, the camera view makes it appear as if you're very near the edge but obviously everything is fine.
I tried wild camping many years ago, we stopped in a wood near Brighton, unfortunately, the guy who owned the tent hadn't packed the groundsheet and the ground was sodden from recent heavy rain. We decided to pack up and book into Patcham youth hostel for the night instead.
I've not slept in any kind of tent since.
Thanks Alan. The towpath can be narrow in places but it only needs to be a bit wider than your tyre 😉 and your handlebars 😆 At least you tried wild camping 🏕 kudos 😁🙌 even if it didn't turn out as planned.

The camp site looks great. I've bought a tent for use next year, though not a particulaly lightweight one to go somewhere fairly locally or to use train assisted. I'm interested to hear more about the equipment the four of your were using, particularly the tents and how you have found them?
I see you are also using different type of stoves including an alcohol/spirit burner, I wonder how you find them all?

I use a go pro hero 7 and the audio is from the camera mic only 😃👍
