    Just a thought.
But plain it would make a pretty journal for poems or diarry 🤲🏼🌸💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸💕

Are you ever amazed when we find your older videos? I just watched the one from Dec 7 and loved the idea of collage on the junk mail envelopes. But what really go my creative juices going was the "bird nests" . I have oodles of thread on wooden spools, no less, which I have been whittling down since I inherited them. Now I am going to make "bird nests" and save the spools to make ink stamps with nuts and washers...Thank you for getting me out of my hoarding mode.

In quilting a term for a similar technique is called “crumb quilting”. You sew very small scraps together on top of a larger piece of fabric like a cut up old sheet to make a larger piece of fabric. It can be tedious, but fun at the same time 😊

It’s so funny you chose this project to work on. I’m making journals out of Readers Digest books and I wanted to use some of the original pages. But I wanted the pages to be oriented where the print was left to right, but when I folded it I didn’t get enough of the page so I just glued 2 pieces of book page together side to side and it made the perfect size for my journals. I even went so far as to glue 3 pieces together and that way I had a page to fold into pockets.

  • @frazzledrobin5175

Love it, I like using the flap as a closure and maybe you could just turn the bottom up to make a pocket to match the size of the paper. I think I have some of my Mom's placemats, if so they will be for my sister and I and maybe nieces, if I ever find them and get my machine fixed....😔

We took a placemat and sewed several ziplock bags inside it with grosgrain ribbon going down the center with a seam holding the bags inside. It would make a great ephemera holder! My local Dollar Tree has pads of large size newsprint. Is it too fragile to use as a base for gluing scraps to it? Will the glue strengthen it enough?

How cool! I've already used place mats for covers, neat! Anyway, looks like you might need a new blade for the cutter and there are silicone "dots" to put on the bottom of the plastic rulers so they don't slip. Makes cutting so mush easier.

Oh my goodness how did I miss this video? I am so glad I found it. While organizing my craft room I found a placemat my mother had (I couldn't discard it as she loved the pattern so much) Now I can make a beautiful journal out of it! TFS

At first I thought it was going to be like the slow Stitch one that Elizabeth Brewer did. So I waited a bit before I watched. This is totally different though and so cool cuz I could make one of each. Just genius my good friend thank you so much for sharing Pam. 🥰🐞😘

Quilted fabric should work well for this project. I use wood placemats but have several large chunks of quilted fabric. I just finished a French impressionist journal that is 5x13 inches. I did a hidden spine in an old book cover. I put 24 pages in it. Never thought of this fabulous technique. Fun video. Sunny gets cuter and cuter..
I’m a new sewer. Could the pages be machine sewn or is it too thick with 20 pages?

We are still in lockdown, so no charity shops open yet!! Only garden centres, golf clubs open and hairdressers opened last Friday. Still having to stay within 10 miles of home. I live in Northern Ireland. TFS. 😻xx
