I've started staying in homes through Trusted Housesitters. I love pets and they make my vacation stay that much more rewarding. These are homes folks actually live in so there's not the absentee owner or manager to deal with. And the accommodation costs me nothing except my annual membership fee, which is split over multiple stays. Win. Win!
Please keep Clark Stinks every Friday. Many times your listeners and viewers add some good information and ideas, so all of us, including Clark, learn something new. Keep up the good work!
I almost exclusively book through VRBO and almost always have a good experience. That being said, only book a property that has 9.0 or higher with numerous reviews. Lastly, use a reputable credit card because if you have a problem, can’t get a satisfactory response you can file a dispute with your credit card company. You will need to have pics, documentation of all correspondence and then they will act as an arbiter and it forces VRBO to respond. Never book a property a zero reviews.
I’ve had all good experiences through AirBnB. I won’t rent one unless it has multiple recent good reviews! I wont pick an Express Deal on Priceline that’s below an 8 rating either.
Only rented two Airbnb; one in Hell's Kitchen in NYC and in WVa. NYC was DISGUSTING! Did exactly what you said and kept getting the runaround. They were SUPERHOSTS! Got our money back, but had to cut our trip short and had a miserable time. WVa. was NOT what the pictures portrayed. Have NEVER done an Airbnb since. Hotels are the only way to go.
NEVER AGAIN will I rent from either of those sites, I got burned on both AirBNB and VRBO. On AiBNB in Paris apartment looked like it's a nice studio - It wasn't. It was on the top floor, no elevator and a make-shift shower, with share toilet down the hall. Tried to complain, AIR BNB couldn't care. As far as VRBO, rented in NYC, nice old style building but unkept property, with mice running around. Again, complained to VRBO....couldn't give two.... NEVER AGAIN
I'm pleased with the reduced frequency of the Clark Stinks feature. I don't like Clark Stinks. It's too much negativity for a half-hour. A downer from the positivity of the previous episodes. I'd prefer instead that listener feedback, clarifications, corrections, just be occasionally worked in to the normal flow of your normal programs.
Hi, LOVE LOVE LOVE Clark Stinks. Maybe possibly Fri episode can be 45 mins vs 30 and give us the "Love Stinks" for Clark we love so much. In what feels we're going into some very dark financial times it's a fun spin on discussing our future. Thanks for always giving us the bright side of life Clark ❤
We used to have a place decades back, they we let a “resort” use our place per an owner lease agreement. Problem was we never made money. And when the tax breaks went away, it seemed like no one else made money either. It was over decade from that point before the “resort” built their own hotel and quit daily renting from us. Strangely enough the property values more than doubled when the “resort” no longer daily rented our places. But it was a good purchase price for anyone who wanted to buy before that.
Re talk on bill pay vs direct pay on websites..... FYI - I used to have a job where I handled all the daily transactions. IF there was a balancing problem and needed to deep dive into the problem, I had full access to routing numbers / account numbers when doing E-checks direct whereas, if paid by credit card, I could only see last 4 numbers. With so many work from home people handling these transactions, your information is not safe. I know even my neighbor who has a customer service job from home - she hand writes down information and enters into system after because she can't touch type at same time as talking on the phone. At least with working AT the workplace, the was compliance regulations in place with multiple checks and balances to prevent fraud. With all that being said though - I personally do go to individual websites to pay and do pay with E-check - in the long run of safety, it would be better to pay with credit card and eat the 3.5% fee as a safety thing.
We have had 2 bad experiences with air bnb and 3 great experiences. My son says you have to be careful with bad public reviews as the next property owner may not rent to you. We have good responce from the private messaging/ complaint.
How about defending the owners? We live in the house during the winter and rent out during the summer. The house is fully stocked for our guests and with air conditioning. We have had people steal things and turn the air conditioning down so much that it leaked through the floors. We clean the house between guests ourselves with help from a local and give rebates to returning guests.
I pay all my bills by credit card auto pay and auto pay that bill with my bank. . I was wondering why you never suggest this method. They don't charge me any additional fees. I've listened to y'all for years and so thankful for all that I've learned. Have a Blessed day.
I hate both vrbo and air bnb. Would much rather stay in hotel. I've had both booked and have cancelled on meat the last second...left me scrambling. Hotel has never done that to me!!
If I remember to vote by proxy, I usually vote contrary to the board recommendations. The board usually protects itself, so whatever they want, I disregard. LOL.
Hey Clark! Just wanted to say I genuinely love your content. It’s super helpful and engaging, you’re really onto something great. I do have a small suggestion that could make a huge difference. Your videos are already packed with value, but if the video quality gets a little boost, it’ll take things to another level. Better quality with your awesome content will make the growth unstoppable and I’m sure you’ll see the results. Also, thumbnails play a big role in grabbing attention. I’ve been designing them for over three years and I’d love to help you out. In fact, I’ll create a free sample thumbnail for one of your videos, no strings attached. Just a way to show you what’s possible. Give me a chance and I promise you’ll never forget me. Just reply to this comment and I’ll connect with you directly.
Love the show, hate Clark Stinks! Clark stinks like a outhouse in summer... fish on the sidewalk.. etc, Major cringe. If you got to do the Clark Stinks get rid of the " Clark Stinks like a.." part. Please!
I love it when Christa breaks out of character, ad libs and flashes that beautiful smile. Thanks for keeping us educated and informed!
Clark stinks is my favorite episode of the week! Please go back to weekly!
So glad to have found clark and his mighty side kick( smart lady) again ...(:
Thank you Team Clark.
You are the best Clark

I never hear you talk about using Costco for buying a car. What are your thoughts?
I appreciate your shows. I've gotten some good information over the years. Thank you!

You should have down rated the hosts/ property and give feedback
@@mugentuner I wasn't sure how to do that, but it was awful!
Just watched and There was a VRBO commercial after Clark’s segment on It.
What happened to the friday flyer? It was on the radio for years! It bit the dust.😢
How does one lose a 401k or Roth account?
Great show 😊
It you again bot
Clark is the best.
Not true.

Aren’t rats and mice all over big cities?
@@MNP208 yes but not in an apartment especially one that you are renting. DUH
Amazon autos not available in my neck of da woods... but that's fine - I'm not too keen on Hyundai

It’s not a downer. It’s constructive feedback in a humorous way.
Thanks for your feedback! We take it as all jokes and fun - not mean-spirited. 💚

Interesting! 🤔 But if everyone is apprehensive of writing a bad review, how does that help others navigate great/bad rentals behind them?
@Clark I know that's what I thought. That was his experience, I guess.

Thanks for sharing the other side of the coin! There are also great homes with bad guests in the marketplace. 💚
@ I also have had guests say that the house is even better than the photos and do this to supplement Social Security.

Airbnb advice is dead on. This is also true with hotels just change rooms. Unless they come right away to fix it not hours later.
I only stay hotels. Too many worrisome problems with this
Also keep your Debit card locked all the time except when to need to use ATM. Unlock, withdraw cash, lock.

would you use amazon pharmacy? It looks like lower prices for my most expensive prescription.
Proxy's...great question. I don't vote either.
I’ll sleep in my car
I agree with Krista the other way you're talking scares me. How about paying bills.
So glad today wasn’t Clark stinks.
