Thank you very much Very helpful I managed to replace it to my b6 Passat 1.4 tsi caxa engine I also had to remove an engine "hook" (undo two m10 bolts), which was standing in the front of the pulley. I didn't see it in your video, also it's not necessary to mount it back (it's there to hell you when removing/outing back the engine). I am not talking about the engine mount... I am not mechanic but it's not difficult to replace it Good luck!
I have a very big problem on my a1 1.4 tsi 122 briefly when the car get to operation temperature 90° I get hard hesitation on 4 5 rpm when I accelerate I changed the hpfp and nothing changed maybe you have solution or you had a story like mine . Thanks

Struggling to diagnose new issue.. started getting a “whine” noise at low revs. Was thinking water pump clutch or supercharger itself. Noise went at higher rpm. No fault codes. Now seems to be burning a bit of oil, and down on power at higher revs. Found lot of oil in inter cooler pipe and burning oil. Signify turbo gone? Diverter valve?
Great video, very helpful but what size and type bolts are used on the Pulley and the pump itself. Or what size/ type bits you need to pull those bolts?
If it's also a CAXA engine then it has a timing chain. It is a good idea to replace it in a preventative maintenance way as they do wear and lengthen over time, and the usual thing is it goes unnoticed by many owners and end up jumping time and causing damage. I have a couple of videos on how to replace it, and the timing tools can be bought reasonably cheaply too.
I just got quoted a bomb to replace a water pump on a 1.4 Twin-Charger motor in a Tiguan. Love the car, love the engine, but it's a five hour job they tell me. The engine bay looks a bit different to what I see here, maybe a bit more difficult to access?
Excellent work. I have the CAXA engine in my mk6 golf too. I have noticed my coolant bottle is going down. I can’t see any source of the leak. Doesn’t appear any leaking at pump. But seems most likely. Is there any test I can do to check it??
Usually you would pressure test the system. Check underneath the radiator too. Look for pink staining if using factory coolant. Perhaps top up with distilled water for now and monitor it for the now?
@@FourRingsAuto thanks. I checked over engine with UV light. Couldn’t see anything. It’s very weird. Oil isn’t milky. I’ve ordered a new bottle in case. But it’s very odd.

One day when i coldsstarted the car, I saw a drop or two by the waterpump but nothing in the area around or on the ground. My theory is that it vaporises when the engine get hotter. I changed the pump and now I don´t have to top of the coolant anymore!
I’ve just done this to my car and now for some unknown reason the car won’t start, it cranks fine but no start, I’m getting spark and fuel and battery is fine, does anybody have any ideas?

As I have one of the early ones, would you recommend me to get rid of it while everything is good, or is it safe to keep? Had it for 4 years and I love. No mechanical issues, but I drive as correct as I can (cold/warm engine)

Hello, I really do not understand how you removed the Water Pump Pully, because there is no place to put the socket and the wrench... Any advises?

Pretty sure he says torx 30 mate
On the pulley is M10, the pump it self is indeed t30

Tiguan is the easiest of the lot. The water pumps are generally a bit of a pain though, and have a relatively expensive retail price.

Depends which 1.4tsi.
Wow is this the same engine with VW Jetta A6 1.4tsi? I think its the same. Let me know if its the same waterpump also.
Depends what engine code. This is caxa single turbo. Most jetta mk6 1.4tsi are CAVD engine with turbo and supercharger. Much harder job...
I think I can change this myself. Thanks. When do you think it will go? Car is from 2007 with 88.000 km. Coolant changed at 75.000 with original G13
No set mileage mate. Just inspect every service and check your levels every 2 weeks.

What wrenches did you use i see there is not a lot of room between pulley and inside of the engine bay.
