Are 16:27, I love JR's willingness to share knowledge about his favorite products, even when they're not a sponsor (Accel plug wires, Wix filters, etc.). On that note, Milwaukee, WHY ARE YOU NOT A SPONSOR? :D
I'm impressed with JR's mechanical ability, his organisation skills, drive and ambition. But mostly how he can pull a whole engine and still be perfectly clean with not a drop of oil, dust or grease on his clothes. Its uncanny.
Can you imagine how much faster and cleanerJR's project site would be if he had wheeled workbenches ... fewer things on the floor, easier to find stuff ... and oh so much less bending and squatting ... I get worn out by his workouts. They could even be wired to plug in at each workstation to keep batteries charged etc. Please.
Wow! That's a huge upgrade! I'm excited for you. Mating up the new engine with that transmission honestly seems like it may be the hardest part after watching the old engine being decoupled.

On the Porsche 928 [which is what the C5 is based upon..] with manual transmissions, you did NOT need to separate the torque tube from the engine in order to change the clutch. The 928 was a transaxle design EXACTLY like the C5 manual with the transmission attached to the final drive and a very similar looking torque tube. On the C5 and the 928, the clutch on manual cars was mounted to the back of the V8 engine. Changing a clutch on a C5 is a BIG job. Not so on the 1972 designed Porsche 928! Get this: On the 928, the torque tube could "telescope" backwards after you released two bolts, and now you had full access to the clutch via a panel that was removable. A mechanic can change a 928's clutch in less than an hour. Why didn't GM do the same thing with their C5?
I wouldve used the used bbk longtube headers before the new shorty hookers. Shorty headers have been known to pick up very little overstock manifolds. And you have long tubes sitting right there to use for free and gain mucho more horsepower LOL
If I could help Watch JR Goes work on the Corvette I would drink the shot of whiskey and the cold Bartle Skeets and pack up the Hash Pipe with Rocky and get all schmoked up.

LS2 water pump is a better replacement. It doesn't have the giant "liberty bell" pulley that you'll constantly be dinging if you're working at the front of the engine.
I'm real interested in the clamped spline at the engine flywheel, not being familiar with rear-tranny 'vettes. I assume you loosened that through the access hole before pulling the engine, lol? And is there a recommended position for the clamp relative to the spline when tightened? Given that splined connections are more commonly used without a clamp and that it would slightly lower the torque capability, I wonder why GM chose this?
Did I hear c8 wheels?? Let me know if the zo6 style ones it came with are going up for sale. Depending on sizes and offsets I may be interested for my TA convertible I picked up. Thank you.
So is the purpose of the torque tube to add rigidity to the drive train? Porshe uses a TT on their front engine / rear trans cars like the 928/944/924.
How much did all the new engine parts and engine cost, I am thinking tha a Barrett Jackson Auction would be cheaper, but I know you wanted to do the swap. Great show JR , so lucky to have found your channel. You should look into getting a dry ice blaster would be the perfect time for that corvette to blast the motor trq tube and trans with it all out

Gabe- there are shops that have been swapping chevy 350's in to Jags since the late 70's ... for the exact reason you mentioned- reliability.
