  • See note below *** The Shire caravan park is just outside Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa. The rolling hill countryside creates a beautiful backdrop for plenty of fun and adventurous activities - fishing, boating, hiking, paragliding and lots more.
Being more inland the weather is totally different to what I'd experienced at the coast and showed me another lovely side of our beautiful country.
I hope that you enjoy the video, please let me know what you think in the comments section.
***** NOTE: I spent December 2021 and January 2022 at the Shire. There was a lot of rain in those 2 months and the caravan park got very soggy. Contact the owner before you book to ensure that the caravan park is suitable for use.

This channel documents my adventures travelling around Southern Africa in my caravan.
Two years ago I left the big city of Cape Town, towing my caravan and a speedboat with my lovely cat for company, never to return to the big city.
I'll be documenting my adventure and showing caravan parks that I spend time at in Southern Africa as well as some other subjects of interest to caravanners and adventurers in general.
I'll also use the channel to take an in-depth look at smaller and off-grid living that I find around Southern Africa.
The tiny house movement is small in Southern Africa, but is growing very quickly.
Southern Africa is vast and has areas of great beauty with weather that is unique and superb. These videos will interest adventurers of all ages. There are still ways to live in this world that allow one to wander the world, as John Wayne used to do in the old western movies.
As I get older I have the choice: to either sit in four walls, watch TV and get grumpy, or go off and have an adventure in my old age.
I've decided to choose the adventurous life and I'm continuously surprised at what I find. I'm seeing some great places and having some fantastic experiences.
Wherever you are in the world, there's a lot to see, no matter how old you are. Just go out there and get started.
Hopefully these videos will bring out your inner 'John Wayne'.
Please like and subscribe and don't forget to ring the little bell to be informed of new videos when they come out.
If you like the concept and the videos, please spread the word to grow this channel.

I grew up near Stutterheim. First years on the Kologha Forest Station. It's a beautiful part of the country.
