How to update w219, and other compatible Mercedes COMMAND infotainment unit.
Comment if you need the .iso files with an email, and I'll provide you the links if you don't have the latest DVD map and Firmware CD
Google "free iso burner " and download it.
Burn the Maps .iso onto a DVD/R, BE SURE "FINALIZE" BOX IS CHECKED. Burn it, and do the same process with the software update BUT BE SURE TO BURN THAT TO A CD/R.
Turn your ignition to accessories
HOLD 1, 3, and 8 simultaneously and you will be prompted to insert software CD. INSERT IN THE TOP SINGLE CD SLOT, NOT THE TRUNK DVD READER OR CD CHANGER.
Wait... Be patient, it takes a while. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING WHILE THE INSTALL IS IN PROGRESS AS SHOWN ABOVE.
Once it's done, it will spit the CD out, and countdown to reset. Let it reset, then turn off your ignition.
Go to the trunk, and eject the current maps DVD, located on the drivers side with two round cap locks. Replace the old DVD with the new one you created.
Power the ignition back on, and wait. It will automatically recognize the new maps and install them.
That's it, you're done. Enjoy having an updated system!
If you can't find the .iso file, go register on the MB forums and proceed to the subsection corresponding to your model. Ask and they will send it, that's how I got them.
I wasn't expecting 100s of people to respond.
Can you provide a link? It is really hard to find it now, and the Ebay sellers are burning them to DVDs not CDs

I am just looking to update maps with a DVD in the back of the car. I have an 05 and live in a rapidly developing city, where almost no maps are accurate. Do I also need to update the software? Do I do it before or after the maps update?
Good work , I just upgraded the command unit from the small screen to the ntg1 unit and installed a navigation unit that was prewired but non existint on my w211 , I now need the upgrade software and firmware iso files to update the system , thanks in advance.
You need star diagnostics system to unlock the ability to navigate.

I have a 2008 E350 (w211 I believe). My nav system does not take me door to door. It wakes me to the approximate numbered block. Is there an upgrade to get door to door directions?

hello I have a w211 with the device ntg1 and when trying to update the software it is blocked the two lines on the screen and does not load the files the cd is wrong and I can not turn off the device to dismantle and unplug the connectors to turn it off I need everything to resuscitate it please thanks

Please send the files to MyFamilyDVD.com@gmail.com. I had purchased the NAV update (eBay) and it was on a DVD, which did not read in my 2006 E350 (W211). After I copied files from the DVD and burnt to CD, it read on my CD/MP3 player but said there was no config file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also have the updated 2016 maps for my W211, which I guess I will have to install in the NAV trunk DVD player, after firmware update. Thank you.
