    Couple tips
    1. Clean the crap from behind the sprocket and clean other areas
    2. Also never never just replace a sprocket you replace chain and rear sprocket running a new to old will be worse off always put to clean area for saftey

      in general sure, fresh sprocket, chain etc.. but I was playing around with different gearing so might run a sprocket for a week to see if i like it and then switch to a different one. Realistically I'm not replacing the chain after running a sprocket for just a few outings.

      No go with a 13 front instead but u will hit rev limiter in 6 gear with a top speed of 125kmh

      the bike may not be able to push the 15t which ends up being less fun, unless you spend a lot of time doing top-speed runs down long hills :-)

    was your wheel aligned properly? the first time i played around with chain slack i got the wheel aligned wring :( . i had to put a wrench between the rear sproket and the chain before tightning it.

      omg watching it back the bike was such a state lol. I think I had some issues in the video getting the wheel to sit straight which is why I normally would use a paddock stand, which makes it easier, but the point was to show it can be done without, which it can, just means you need to be a bit extra careful with your alignment. The little bolts in front of the rear axle should keep your wheel aligned correctly if you've measured the gaps right and keep the wheel pulled forward, but yeah I guess it's possible to get it misaligned...I find I can normally just push down on the sagging part of the chain (creating tension which) it pulls the sprocket side forwards to its limit/stop, and then keeping the pressure on the chain straighten the wheel which should pull the other side fully forward too. Idk if that makes sense.. easier to do than explain.

    I’ve got a WR125 and I’m not sure whether to run a 14t or 13t, since it’s the WR and not the YZFR I was thinking stick with the 13 instead of going for top end but what do you reckon?

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cool! I keep toying with getting a WR125 too, whcih makes no sense bc I have a dirt bike already but I just want one lol! 13t is a lot of fun just for the acceleration. Round town & local or offroad etc (idk if you do any exploring, if not I suggest you do ;)) or if you're learning wheelies then a 13t is great and indeed very fun. If you have to go on main roads regularly or have a commute of over 15-20mins it's likely to get quite tedious pootling along at 50mph (since you can't be at 10k the whole time and 10k=74mph).
      Actually my dirt bike is geared super low and only does about 30-40mph comfortably and I've found as long as you can make peace with the idea that "ok I'm slow af and that's just how it is, bc I want acceleration for other situations" then it's ok. My 'default' is to go flat out everywhere tho so it's a bit of a shift of attitude required ;)

    Will 16T fit with stock chain?

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust  ปีที่แล้ว

      it did on mine but there wasn't the power to drive it really (on my bike anyway) so ended up slower than 15t

    what whas top speed with 13 and 14 ? do you recommend 13 ?

    • @NorthCust
      @NorthCust  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      on mine: 13t=74mph, 14t=82mph This video has the 13t run up to top speed.

      If you're only doing local trip or are learning to wheelie then a 13t is a lot of fun. great for zipping round town but journeys over 20mins get pretty tedious.
