That’s wonderful crochet is helping and you are getting time to make gifts. I’m happy you enjoyed my tutorial. Thank you for watching and commenting ❤️
My daughter wants a poncho, after searching many tutorials, I really like how clear and concise you make your videos. I am on a project now, but I can't wait to get started making this. I have so much scrap yarn, and really wanted to do something worthwhile with it, now I can make poncho's in a variety of colors...using various yarn weights. Oh, and that idea about how to keep the chain straight is 'brilliant'. To be honest, that is what so confused me when I would watch other tutorials.
Hi and thank you 😊 I love the Drops Designs patterns but I struggle with the language they use. I'm a very visual learner so it was great to see you making it along with me. Gave me confidence that I was doing it right! 😂
Very nice and easy poncho you have made my life much easier by giving the idea of starting chain I mean you joined the chain at very start thank you soo much 😋
Omggggg this poncho is beautiful and I’m so glad companies are very creative with the texture and colors of the yarn. I’m going to make this Poncho, like now. Thanks for sharing. Once again just beautiful.
I’m so happy you like this poncho Brenda! This yarn is so great to work with (not sponsored to say that) and has great colors too choose from. Thank you for watching and commenting 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
+RiChiella Johnson very true! I bet it looks wonderful too. If you like post a photo to my Facebook page Siena's Maine Design. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I love your nail polish as well. I will be making this poncho, I love it. Thank you so much for your tutorials I enjoy them so much. You do beautiful work. 🤗
I used this pattern to make a poncho for my husband, I used a larger pattern for it and added the hood but modified it along the bottom edge where I added a virus edge to the back and a shawl fringe to the front. I also used a different yarn.
Thank you so much! I love to crochet, and I've been wanting to make a shawl for my daughter, but didn't know how. I'm not very good at reading the patterns. I get so confused. Your video helped me understand what I was to do. Again, thank you for sharing!
Thank u for sharing this tutorial! This was my first, "real" cloth what I tried and it's amazing :)!!! I adjusted a bit, so more ponchulover (made arm part from the long sides) but still, wonderful! Thanks so so much, high five!
Thank you for this tutorial, i ve just finished doing a poncho like this. I m proud and happy. From Casablanca, let me tell you, thanks again for this wonderful video 😍
hi Jonna lovely pattern again thanks for sharing,l particularly love your openwork granny square pattern,l have shared with a lot of my friends,as a top, thank so much for great tutorials 😊
+Effie Piggott I’m not really sure how it’s biased. But the way it wears it will accommodate many sizes. It really depends on how it fits over the recipients head. Mine came out very loose. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you for the quick reply. I just noticed when I read the pattern that there was a comment on height. So I figured that’s how it was sized. I’m making one for someone who is quite short. But is concerned with her size. She finds ponchos quite long. And recommendations would be great. Thank you
Omgggg you have to try it ! It is sooooo nice to work with , and it's so soft , and comes in so many beautiful colors ! Do you think it would work for a poncho ? I've made little girl dresses with it and blankets .
I absolutely love Caron cakes. They make such great yarn for large projects including your beautiful poncho. Quick question, do u have a Twitter account?
thank you so much! if i want to make the neck smaller, how many chains do you suggest? it's for a medium so it still needs to be long, just not sure how many to chain for the 1st row.
thanks for sharing. this is easy to do so far. i will be adding the hood once i am done. also is there anyway to add pockets to this. i am making this for my mom
Thank you so much for this lovely video. You explain so well. I followed your instructions to the T but somehow the poncho seems to be going slightly to one side. Im making the xl size and did exactly as you said. Where could I be going wrong ?
The video directions are for a different size than the one you are making. The length of the starting chain and where you place the increases vary per size. The written pattern is linked in the description. That will tell you the appappropriate starting chain and places for the increases based on the size that you are making.
@ozzie8992 thank you. I followed the instructions in your blog ...150 chains .....but I think I did an extra granny stitch, that's why the problem. Thank you for replying so promptly.
First and foremost thank you so much for the video. I was wanting to know for the bigger sizes of the Poncho when you make the increase where abouts do you do it for the bigger sizes. say i had 170 chain where do i make the increase for the points?

How did you make the neck opening smaller? I would like to make smaller ones but can’t figure it out.
My son wants one too, do I do the chain reduced by 20? So chain 90 instead of 110 or 130? He's a child's size 10 so I don't need an adult size...
I would chain in sets of 5 until the chain is a comfortable length.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
