Theres a reason I've only had a Nintendo Switch for the past 7 years. Just a lot of games for my casual game self to play. I'm so glad! Sure a lot are backlogged but for the few I actually completed, I feel awesome! Here's to the next gen Switch and continuing to bring more classic games into port status! PS: Narrator of this video is very good. Well paced, easy to hear and not over the top delivery in lines.
My favorites are the two Mario Rabbid games, Into The Breach, & Invisible Inc. I’m really excited for the upcoming Metal Slug Tactics game which is heavily inspired by Into The Breach.
Does anyone remember game Vanguard Bandits on PS1? Which game on the Switch comes close to that one, I really miss a tactical mecha RPG on the Switch or maybe I missed out on one.
I hope putting octopath 2 on the 25th doesnt mean its ranked the low above all,, I've been playing jrpg for all of my life, and i said octopath is at least my top 3.. 😢 its easily 9.5/10 . i know this is all preferences but still, for me octopath 2 is not just a game, its story is an art, the characters is an art, its ost is an art, the visual is an art, its gameplay is an art.. every tiny bits of detail it could provide is an art..
I have this problem with more of these video's with a game list. And the more I look into it, the more I come to the sad conclusion that it is probably just a random (AI?) picture that has no relation with any actually existing game whatsoever, and certainly not with one mentioned in the video itself.
witchspring R is crafted better than any of these games on this list, except for maybe mario rpg and ff9. Most rpgs, and games today to be frank, are made with no love, no passion or heart, just algorithms and data-driven design. "this works so we should do this". "dont stray from the good ol faithful, creativity is risky". Look at octopath for example and its soulless uniformity. For each chapter, there is 1 town, 1 dungeon, 1 big treasure for each dungeon, 1 boss, 1 story arc, and you rinse and repeat that for literally 50 hours with the only difference being the clothes it wears. Its as if AI created the game. Is it really that scary to add a little dimension and chaos to a game? maybe 2 chests in a long dungeon?? or no dungeon between bosses? How about a chase sequence where you have to fight 2 bosses in a row like ff6 when they were escaping the magitek factory? Like i said, no love anymore in these games. Just patterns that "work". 1 boss, 1 dungeon, 1 treasure, and sprinkle in some fetch quests. so fkn dumb. no imagination and love, just motivated by the bottom line.
Getting ready to add another RPG to my switch collection and of course I had to come to your channel first.
Thanks for the great info!

I've played the Unicorn Overlord demo 6 times. Different paths each time, excellent. Aiming to get it this Christmas.

Of course we remember ;) although the better game for me personally was Vandal Hearts 1&2
Armored Core was good
Divinity 2
Octopath is so good
Divinity original sin 2 is missing here. Also mechanicus could be a good option too even if it a bit less of an rpg.

Agreed. Masterpiece
Chained echoes and octopath are top of the list for me
My biggest question here...what is the game from the thumbnail screenshot?

Oh my god there is only one game here I didn’t play
And where is the best one on switch „divinity2“?
Also missing Dragon Quest Monsters and Wartales
I didnt think dq monsters is turn based. Is it? @SchnoopXD
What game is the thumbnail?
I think it is some Final Fantasy, mabye crisis core?
Probably Dragon Quest XI, that or the offshot which is like DQ meets Minecraft
I love monster hunter stories
Probably some AI generated image
You mean 'unfortunatly'

The Final Fantasy IX that they put on the Switch is a port of the mobile version. Gross.
Where's FF10 and 12? Those 2 are the epitome of turned based combat!
I will agree with FF10, FF12 is a walking simulator.
Strategy games are not JRPG
Daybreak is bad AF
