    I just found a muscle knot on my on my Rhomboids. Have been struggling on the where in between my scapula bone. Scared me at first and I did some research. I do get acupuncture and I feel like ever since I did cupping it actually burst it out more. It looks like I grew an extra muscle on my back so I should be using the vibration technique with my massage machine how often every day 60 seconds or 3 to 4 times a week I appreciate all your information, thank you

      It appears that you have been given a lot of misinformation, and cupping is one of the most ridiculous treatments out. You cannot reach your own Rhomboids, but any half decent professional can find them. I cannot advise you because I don't know exactly what is wrong, or whether your machine is decent or a typical consumer massager or massage gun. Find a proper professional, not someone who does cupping.

    A few days ago, while biking in the desert, I suddenly fell, due to which I got a bruise on my under-knee, and this bruise changed color, and now the skin color is getting normal, but the muscle was very hard in that place. Now 3 to 4 clots have formed which are not painful but cause pain in the whole leg.

      These are not "muscle knots" as described. You had better get specific advice on these.

    Thank you so much. I've been searching for over a year for this information. I really wish I could purchase your massager in the US.

    Meralgia paresthetica or pitching nerve can cause muscle knots in quadriceps muscle in thigh?

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Technically it can indirectly cause some. However, it is more likely to be the other way around (muscle knots tightening muscles causing pressure on the nerves. The alternate causes are way , way more likely so I thing you are being fed some bad info.

    Can you use cupping on the upper trapezIus as applying pressure for knots?

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Cupping is a stupid procedure. The reasons people give for doing it are irrational and un-scientific.

      Have you ever had it done? I love it! I will pop cups on and walk around... theres nothing stupid about understand a simply pin amd stretch..what a cup would provide with that..and how good it feels. I can get instant relief ❤ @@drgraeme

    which vibration massager would you recommend it must be strong enough i guess?

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it has to be strong enough, and not a percussion massager (jackhammer rather than deliver therapeutic vibrations). Please see the following link for how to choose. That said, most personal use massagers are either massage guns or ineffective consumer machines (or both) so we built our own. www.drgraeme.com/articles/2021/11/how-to-choose-a-massager

      How is a vibration massage different to shockwave therapy?

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@annap1191 Completely different,, shockwave causes cavitation, which is basically rapid expansion of cells causing them to blow up and die. The advocates basically say it damages tissue to stimulate repair.

    Can you surgically remove them in hands or feet and back?

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      That is the worst suggestion I have ever heard: cut out functional muscle and leave a big hole filled with scar tissue and adhesions. You probably would not be able to use your feet or hands, or stand up properly. You haven't had some idiot doctor suggest this have you??

    I have a trigger point in both scm muscles when i pinch the muscle like everyone tells me to do i dont feel the refered pain patern, but when i press in a certain area i feel the exactly referal pain in the forehead like i should. Should i pinch the nerve and massage like everyone tells or should i press on the place that gives me refered pain? I’ve been doing the pressing method for 3 days and it gave me significant relief on the intense headaches i had but i feel a sensation in some random places in my head, how much time does generaly takes for a trigger point to become assymptomatic?

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I cannot be 100% sure, but suspect that the advice "everyone tells you" is pretty poor. It is most likely that the referred pain is from pressing on the real trigger point. If you are getting relief that is good. The proper results are obtained by doing regular treatments rather than waiting for pain to return, and if the trigger point is getting steadily less tender you are winning.

    • @allankennyg1634
      @allankennyg1634 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@drgraeme thank you doc for the advice, but in the right scm i can feel refered pain easily when i press on the middle part of the muscle but on the left scm i need to press harder on the upper he to feel refered pain, does it mean that on the left scm the trigger point are more internal? And when should i start streching the muscle? I saw on a lot of articles that stetching the muscle with active trigger points can worsen the trigger point so when its safe to stretch the muscle?

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@allankennyg1634 I don't know where you get the "internal" bit from. That is not appropriate. The likely explanation is that the right trigger point is larger and more severe. Just take care of the trigger points. Those muscles will return to their operational length just fine without stretching. You will just cause troubles trying to stretch them.

    What’s the difference between a massage gun and a vibrating gun? And since it’s vibrating, why not get a vibrating ball for example like the one from therabody? I can see you are very knowledgeable but it looks like you are just trying to sell and promote your product as the best solution, making every other alternative look bad, for example, scraping has helped me reduce the size of my muscle knots significantly. It’s painful but definitely effective, but you suggest that it’s completely ineffective?
    Would appreciate an answer, thanks doc

    • @drgraeme
      @drgraeme  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you want the details check out the article linked at the end of this comment. However, if you ever used a genuine vibration massager after a gun or whatever you would notice a huge difference. You would feel the vibrations go right through you and rapidly "dissolve" things. Regarding the painful technique you are doing,, they are hard to do and hurt so most people will only do them when motivated by worse pain, so they never have the continuity needs to make any lasting changes. www.drgraeme.com/articles/2023/12/why-most-massagers-and-massage-guns-are-a-waste-of-money

      Massage guns are not appropriate. Please no one "explain" this. If a short simple piece of advice was suitable I would have done a 30 second video. This person is perfectly able to go to the articles in the description and use google translate.

      @@drgraeme For that person, here is the the 30 second response: Use the vibration massager for 30 seconds on the knot to release it. No drugs, guan shi, needles, massaging and definitely no surgery which are not only temporary but can make the condition worse.
