You have such a cool setup there. It's totally high functioning mad scientist and I love it. It's really amazing all you have going on in such a small area there.
Videos of her arse says they have chem . But the place is so tiny I doubt it lasted.... Wait maybe they moved out of cali and it worked. Or they just have fk up kids now.
your man loves you so much. you can tell in his voice and how well he does the camera work. He even picks on you. jealousy. I can't even get someone to look at me
Yeah, they last a really long time in the aquariums after you feed (if you feed too much - oops), so I figured that I would try storing them in it, and it worked!
Hey! How come your BBS survive that long on fresh watter? I tried to keep some in fresh watter ,but they didint last for many hours, and you said you could make it last up to 2 days. Do you think its the low temperature that keeps them that long ?
Found you and liked and subscribed. Did I miss it or do you start them up with warm water? 72 is rather cold for S. Florida, how do you think they’ll do in 78? If bring them out to the balcony I can get 80s and 90s. So my question is, in this subtropical environment which will be best for raising BBS? Outdoors in the heat on indoors in controlled 78? Thanks, and good luck. Hey “cameraman” you got a jewel 💎 on your hands.
Do you get your brine shrimp net from Jehmco? The one I got from Brineshrimpdirect does not seem to catch all of the shrimp and a lot pass through it when I try to catch them in it.
I'm fascintaing with all that you have done in producing artemia/BBS, Beautiful women. But, I wanna ask you how to keep BBS live until two days. Can I put aerator asoxygen for them or we have to put them in the refrigarator? How cool is it? Thank you Inglorious Bettas.
No, they are very small and have hard shells I am just very very lightly squeezing so that the net has a sharper point for the water to exit - I'm not actually collapsing the net walls in on the BBS.
It depends on the species. Most can be incubated at the same temperature that you keep the fish at. However, (and I am just getting into this myself!) the storage conditions that you keep the eggs at can be really tricky to figure out. I think that's really what separates killifish beginners and masters lol.
SO when do we feed German Blue Ram Fry? Mine will be 4 days old tomorrow. They are starting to swim freely. I put in a tiny bit of First Bites yesterday. And tonight just a tiny bit of organic Spiralina. And I put some moss in there.
That batch is doing great. 15 days old free swimming. This 2nd batch I have inside my tank. I took the other fish out. And the parents are successfully raising them. This Batch of fry are now 4 days and free swimming... I give them vinegar eel worms, which are super tiny and Baby Brine shrimp. I do have a batch of infusoria going on the porch 2 weeks now. But afraid to use it. I mean the container is very healthy and plants little floating green plants, forgot name, are super healthy... just afraid to use it... I guess I can take a dropper and put some by the little fry... Ok, I just added a few doses of infusoria... I think they'll be fine... I'll add more in about 2 hours... Thanks for the video tips and help!!
Hi there, sorry for the delayed response. I honestly don't remember where I bought that net, lol, probably in a fish store. Look specifically for a brine shrimp net. It will have a very tight weave, almost cloth-like. Anything with larger holes will just let the BBS run through it, even if it is marketed as a "fine" net.
Can they get too hot easily? I set my florescent right up to the glass and it seems a bit toasty (still hatching and alive but its been 2 days still some unhatched eggs at the bottom) but idk how far to back it up while still make the heat have an impact. Also can thw flow be to intense? I'm using a 20-40 gallon Tetra quite air pump.
If you drain it slowly, the unhatched eggs will get caught on the ledge and you won't get many of them. The empty egg shells actually float at the top.
I have this problem too. Most of my unhatched eggs or capsules? sink and some float leaving me an unstable area to collect in the middle of the container. Best to buy decapsulated hatching eggs which I wish I knew before buying.
Dean also rinses them, her and Dean master breeder are the two so far I’ve seen rinsing. Just about everyone else I’ve seen feeds them straight to the tank salt brine and all, in small quantities, and I’ve asked them it apparently it does not have ill effects on their tanks.
So, I have these little plastic sauce dipping cups with lids that I have used to freeze mosquito larvae in to feed to my cichlid grow outs and have been wondering if it would be safe to do the same with brine. Do you think it would be safe if I freeze them and then thaw them out before feeding?
Yeah, they sell frozen brine shrimp that you can thaw feed. I find that my fish love adult frozen/thawed brine shrimp, but aren't interested in frozen/thawed BBS. I know a lot of people that do it though!
Cool, yeah thats why I was wondering that maybe the companies that sell them maybe put some kind of preservative or something. Cool. whenever I get some brine I will freeze them. How long do you think they will last in the freezer? Also I have this old thing of sea monkeys and I know that they are a type of brine. Do I hatch them in the exact same way as these? I just want to use them as feeders.
I'm really not sure how long they last. I think there are videos on how to make frozen fish food though, and I'm sure they would give an estimate. It depends on how old the eggs and how they were stored. It's best to keep eggs in the freezer, then the fridge. You can always try though!
They don't when you compare them to the immense heat coming off of an incandescent bulb. I am putting the hatchery right underneath the bulb and it is enclosed in a foil-lined cardboard box, so the heat it does produce is pretty concentrated. I measured it with an infrared thermometer.
Can you spell out the vendor from which you bought the little hatchery?? I heard "Gemco" (Jimco? Jemco? Gymco? etc.... ) Liked the, uh .... "informality" of your cameraman!! I kept waiting for him to get himself in trouble!
No. She should have used the saltwater. Also should "swish" the net that still has some BBS sticking to it - swish in the adult fish tank. They will gobble them up!
BBS has a shell and just too big forthe first food of the tiny mouth of betta fry. I feed them with infusoria, which you can easily develop by using the betta used water (the older the better) and a little bit of pelet.
Not hard, just a steep learning curve. For goldfish, check out Solid Gold Aquatics channel. You can see how I do it at www.ingloriousbettas.com/spawning-bettas.html.
Your videos are so helpful! Can I ask how you go about bleaching stuff? How diluted is the bleach, and how do you make sure there is no bleach residue left (is rinsing with water just fine?). I have some buckets I want to disinfect :)
I um...eye ball it. I think it's about a tbsp per litre spray bottle. I rinse it 3-4 times. On things that I use directly on fish (like nets and buckets), I let it air-dry completely before use.
Also, make sure you have fresh bleach. It does go bad: www.brainstuffshow.com/blogs/does-chlorine-bleach-ever-expire-or-go-bad-important-in-emergency-situations.htm
Yes I got some of them. Most of them float to the top, but some end up with the brine shrimp. The fish don't seem to have any problems eating around them.
I don't understand why you are storing the hatched baby brine shrimp in fresh water. Surely they will survive longer in salt water. Would it not be better to store them in the salt water and then rinse them off in fresh as you need them? You say that you store them for a day in the fresh water; surely by that time the majority have died?
I store them in the fresh water because it's fast and easy. Most of them are actually still alive after 24 hours in the wine cooler. I don't need them any longer than that because the next hatch is ready by then. I have had them stay alive to 48 hours stored this way too. You could mix up clean salt water and put them in that if you really wanted to keep them longer, but by then they probably will have lost a lot of their nutritional value because they will have absorbed the egg sacks.
This is the method I use when I need a lot of brine shrimp. I only have a couple spawns growing out at a time now and I LOVE the shrimp plate from brine shrimp direct lol
You two are so cute together.
I thought so too.
You have such a cool setup there. It's totally high functioning mad scientist and I love it. It's really amazing all you have going on in such a small area there.
"Inglorious Bettas" I love it! What a clever play on both words and a movie reference!
Just the interaction between you two makes this worth watching. Ingenious the idea with the box, thanks for sharing
Videos of her arse says they have chem . But the place is so tiny I doubt it lasted.... Wait maybe they moved out of cali and it worked. Or they just have fk up kids now.
You are so organized, great set up! i to have been affected by the betta madness but you make it look like easy rocket science!!
Loved the sarcastic comedy, Well done Camera Man! :-D also, ty both for the tutorial!
Awesome video!! The banter with the camera man/husband is hilarious!
Very good video with very useful tips. Especially on storage of the hatched brine shrimp. Thanks! I’m now subbed too.
Thanks for the vid lady! Very informative and helpful!
I hate hatching bribe shrimp!!!your system is so simplistic thanks for sharing!
Two years later... ah didn't realize that Jehmco sells brine shrimp hatcheries. Thanks for sharing.
your man loves you so much. you can tell in his voice and how well he does the camera work. He even picks on you.
jealousy. I can't even get someone to look at me
The problem is that you're TRYING to get someone to look at you instead of just rolling with the punches :)
Wes Harrison that was so nice!!😍
Wow how you look after all of those i got one tank thankyou for video from uk
i didnt know you could store them in fresh water like that it will make things a lot easier for me thanks ps your boyfriend is funny lol
Yeah, they last a really long time in the aquariums after you feed (if you feed too much - oops), so I figured that I would try storing them in it, and it worked!
I use that same ikea lamp, literally works perfect.
Hey! How come your BBS survive that long on fresh watter? I tried to keep some in fresh watter ,but they didint last for many hours, and you said you could make it last up to 2 days. Do you think its the low temperature that keeps them that long ?

camera man: "we can fix it in post". Must work in the visual effects industry with a comment like that.
Close. He is a computer programmer lol
7:12 lmao you very nice video thanks for all the info your fish room is amazing!
Very informative, thank you.
great job, you have a pleasant voice for this. Very informative.
doesn't squeezing the net when the brine are in it crush the shrimp?
No, they are very small and have hard shells I am just very very lightly squeezing so that the net has a sharper point for the water to exit - I'm not actually collapsing the net walls in on the BBS.
nice setup :)
Can you leave the bbs longer to feed bigger adult blue rams or others about 2-3 inches?
Hey I want to get into killifish, I spend all night researching them but there is one thing that I can't find, at wat C° do I need to hatch the eggs?
It depends on the species. Most can be incubated at the same temperature that you keep the fish at. However, (and I am just getting into this myself!) the storage conditions that you keep the eggs at can be really tricky to figure out. German Blue Ram fry are so tiny that they should be eating infusoria. The successful GBR breeders I know maintain paramecium cultures.o
That batch is doing great. 15 days old free swimming. This 2nd batch I have inside my tank. I took the other fish out. And the parents are successfully raising them. Where did you get the net for bbs? or is there some other way to get them or DIY net for them? thanks in advance for the response..

What you feed baby brine shrimps ma'am ?
When you turn the air line off and wait for the eggs to go to the top before harvesting?..how long should u wait
Where do you get your brine shrimp eggs ?
hi,nice video and informative, just want to know where to get that kind of bbs hatchery? Thanks
I got mine from Jehmco. Great company!
www.jehmco.com/html/brine_shrimp_hatcheries.html
Nice i really like your videos
Did u put a group of bettas with other small fish? How could they living together without killing?
Doesn't draining from the bottom mean you're getting all the unhatched eggs and empty egg shells too?
If you drain it slowly, the unhatched eggs will get caught on the ledge and you won't get many of them. The empty egg shells actually float at the top.
I have this problem too. Most of my unhatched eggs or capsules? sink and some float leaving me an unstable area to collect in the middle of the container. Best to buy decapsulated hatching eggs which I wish I knew before buying.
very nice tutorial can i ask for some temperature of the bbs then it is a 10 minutes to hatch the bbs thank you?
The BBS are at room temperature, which for me is about 72F
No its not 10min to hatch the bbs. It's to collect and refill the hatchery. The hatch will still take 24hrs minimum.
What size are those containers your betta is in? Need to get some !
How much eggs did you use for that batch?
Hi , where did you say, you bought this hatchery machine from ?
Is there any possibility of having an alternative bbs net? Thanks.
You are so cute specially your smile
just curious all that rinsing wont it kill the live food?
Nope! They are quite hardy. I can refrigerate them in a wine cooler alive for up to 24 hours, so this single harvest is good for 2 or more feedings
Dean also rinses them, her and Dean master breeder are the two so far I’ve seen rinsing. Just about everyone else I’ve seen feeds them straight to the tank salt brine and all, in small quantities, and I’ve asked them it apparently it does not have ill effects on their tanks.
Came for brine shrimp videos, stayed for real wholesome nigga hours
Like jesus christ both of you are adorable
Thank you, interesting hatch..
very smart. Thank you!

Does bbs is only for fry? Is it good for an old betta?
Where did you get that brineshirmp hatcher
Brine shrimp direct!
Can't find it on their websute. Hiw much was it
I thought fluorescent bulbs don’t give off any heat?
They don't when you compare them to the immense heat coming off of an incandescent bulb. I am putting the hatchery right underneath the bulb and it is enclosed in a foil-lined cardboard box, so the heat it does produce is pretty concentrated. I measured it with an infrared thermometer.

thnx dear I love it
Hi ..where can i buy the brine shrimp egg?
I purchase mine from the International Betta Congress online store. Brine Shrimp Direct is also good.
how do yall go see family and friends?
Timing! I make sure to not set up spawns or have small fry right before leaving on vacation
How tall is the camera man?
She is a BBS...for real.
Can you spell out the vendor from which you bought the little hatchery?? I heard "Gemco" (Jimco? Jemco? Gymco? etc.... ) Liked the, uh .... "informality" of your cameraman!! I kept waiting for him to get himself in trouble!
Jehmco! :)
DIY man, all u need is a plastic bottle and air pomp.
love the video cameraman was great too lol keep him in the videos lol
Can brine shrimp live in fresh water?
They can survive in it for a while, especially if it has a little bit of salt in it.
No. She should have used the saltwater. Also should "swish" the net that still has some BBS sticking to it - swish in the adult fish tank. They will gobble them up!

I've always kept at least one growing up, but I started breeding when I moved to San Francisco in 2011 :)

Inglorious Bettas Do you ever sell your fish? I am really interested in getting a pair of killies and the Pygmy sunfish.
love the info, dump the needy guy

Thanks so much! Your videos are super helpful. I'm getting back into keeping wilds and halfmoons after a long break :)
I have the same lamp😐
i tried to keep them without air pump and they just died in few hours
Are you still togther ?
Nice
great set up and informative video, not to mention you cute as hell
Broken Chair.... laughed more than i should have
Lol :)
Gemco? I thought they went out of business over 30 years ago
thank you ^^
Like 20X.
Thank you
I love your videos, so informative and inspiring. But your cameraman might be the best part XP
Hahaha, I'll tell him that :p
Why does it look like you guys are in a hotel? Very boxed in. Guess this is from commiforian country. But love fish have fun the same.
I think you also got the egg shells along with the brine shrimp.
Yes I got some of them. Most of them float to the top, but some end up with the brine shrimp. The fish don't seem to have any problems eating around them.

BBS need 24 up to 48hours and not 10mins......
I think they're talking about the length of the video.
Hi 💕💕
lift your feet when walking ;)
but ty for video, very usefull
Dati sigurong katulong tong babae na to.😂😂😂
Jezz...
u walk like my fiance
Oh ok mlol
There so awkward lol
en français serait mieux ?
Just buy the shrimp plate its way easier than this because this looks exhausting .
This is the method I use when I need a lot of brine shrimp. I only have a couple spawns growing out at a time now and I LOVE the shrimp plate from brine shrimp direct lol

You kill bbs how sad!
