BD I have found your videos extremely helpful over the last few years. How do you do a AS3X+ update on a BNF receiver in a model without removing it from the plane i.e. e-flite T28 1.1m?
I use a laptop and sit close to the receiver with programming cable plugged into receiver. Use a lead extension if you need more room and longer cable.
Nice info! did you download the new software by removing the SD card from the radio and inserting the card in a card reader attached to the computer? Or did you leave the card in the radio and used a cable between the radio and computer? Did you do the serial number capture before or after downloading the software?
1) Connect either way. 2) I typically use SD card reader 3) Serial number capture is before the software. Update download doesnt appear until you pair with the serial number.
Thanks for the video, got a little lost in the middle but sorted it out. I noticed Spektrum doesnt make regular receivers past 10 channels unless you go to the really big 14 channel $350 receiver. Do you have a solution to add channels to the regular AR10100T receiver? Thanks!
Thank you for your videos; you are the best! I just have one questions that I couldn't find on the websites. My firmware version is old, 3.03. So, my question is: Can I update directly to the latest firmware version 4, or do I need to update step by step with all the versions that my TX shows me? Thank you very much!
You exported the serial number, when did you download the new version on your sd card? You did not mention that. Did you download it form your computer ? Bob
Hi BD- I upgraded an NX-6. New models setup automatically have the 14 channels now but existing models do not. I do not seem to have the option to activate them in the frame rate menu. Any ideas?
Go to monitor, scroll down to bottom. Click on monitor bars then scroll right. When it shows extra channel;s they will now be in the Servo Setup and Channel Assign screens.
Spektrum nx6 - When choosing sailplane 2ail 1flp, the Flaps system menu is not accessible. Camber presets and camber system are available. Can you give instructions on how to use it?
You can set the L and R Trim to Rates,Expo,Elevator Comp withj Flaps and some other features. When its available you will see OTF in the adjustment selected.
So I'm just now getting into RC aircraft at the ripe age of 56. I know if I get a 6 ch radio that I'll soon go to 8 ch then maybe 10 ch and even higher as I get experience. So I was thinking of getting a NX10 to begin with but also thinking of the IX14. Is there anything negative about a newbie starting with something like a IX14, more radio than what I'd need for quite a while? I'm thinking that way as I advance I wouldn't need to keep upgrading the transmitter. What is your opinion?
Recent update unlocks many extra channels for radios. NX6 and NX7e is 14 channels, NX8/NX10,NX10SE,iX14 are 20 channels. All Spektrum radios program similar. I would see anything wrong starting with iX14 other than if your new the money loss you will talk selling. iX14 is more intuitive with screen and menu layouts. Text to speech callouts too! Only downside is using with sim like Real Flight you need a wireless dongle because iX dont have controller mode like NX...
Your videos have helped tremendously & I like your style. I fly helicopters but your videos apply to me too. Thanks.
Thanks for those good words!
Great and timely video! It was just a great help to me... even though those Vols smothered my Sooners! Thanks
Glad to hear! Sorry about them sooners :D
You are the best at this. Good to see you back.

Change aircraft type to airplane or use opposite of positive or negative value.
@@BDTennessee Thanks for your reply, but this is not what I wanted to hear.
on the 4.0 version i see the letters OTF. I understand that means on the fly. What would you use that for
