Hello from Tampa, Florida. Your comment about the vacuum pods I found curious. When I’m using the vacuum, I use it on the resin before it goes in the mold and that takes all the bubbles out of the resin from stirring it. I would still use the vacuum on the resin and then poured in the mold then place in the pressure pot. Pressure pot will help reduce the bubbles that are left over from pouring and stirring. That’s all for now. I just thought the comments about the vacuum might help you in the future.
Great to hear you admitting that the problems with the molds are due to you & not a problem with the mold itself. As for clearing the surface bubbles the best method I've come across is by using a long neck lighter, the flame temp is much lower than the heat gun or the torch & so it takes MUCH, MUCH LONGER to cause any damage to the mold & the other thing is that using IPA will dry the silicone mold out & shorten it's life so that's why I avoid using IPA to burst bubbles.
This had some of the best tips I have seen. I have never seen the pressure pot and I would love to have the measurements to make the tray you use to make the tray that drops in beautifully.
I’ve heard 24 hours is sufficient in the pressure pot. Have you compared different time-lengths in the pot to see if there is any impact on the product?
Just found out you had a TH-cam. 100 in a month is awesome! Definitely some serious potential. Have you thought about expanding to other object than just skulls? Also new one with the bora bora blue looks sick
Just use a vacuum pot, quickly on the resin, before pouring it into mold, then pour slowly into mold, and put in pressure pot. should eliminate any bubbles.
Alcohol spritz should help. Also torch and proper Mixing time. It also depends on your choice of resin. I have this exact same mould, from let's resin...the skull is awesome...I get bubbles in the back of the skulls head...

The bubbles around the eyes and nose actually look kinda cool
Just wanted to thank you, I bought the pressure tank. It works great so thank you
Great to hear!
I think one of those big skulls with a single 30 sided die would be pretty cool. Thanks for the video!
You are the first person I have seen using my favorite resin. I love the liquid glass deep pour and liquid glass 24.
Spray the inside of the mold with alcohol right before you pour it helps release those pesky low down bubbles.
Where did you get the stackable thing you put all the skull molds in the pressure with?
thanks for the video...cool. Question, what would you sell them for?

I have a raven skull with wings mold, it would look amazing with your technique for the wings 😮
I am confused what and when you use the rubbing alcohol to pop the bubbles. Thank you
Can you recommend a cheaper vaccum?
I do mine using gravity and no pressure pot. I fill mine with polished agates... Bubbles are minimal and they look beautiful.
Gravity? I'm intrigued
Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍🏼
Great video, thanks!
Have you tried pre filling the cases with resin and letting them set up before filling the skulls?
I know it would probably be a ton of work in your case, that's a ton of skulls and casings.
wow these are amazing!~ tho im waiting to see more videos of your poured resin molds etc...thanks for the videos!
what are pressure pots and what are they for/ Is it to help set the Resin up faster?
They collapse the bubbles in the resin so it comes out clear
would a pressure cooker work?
No the heat would destroy them
do you ever outline the eyes nose or teeth with black or a metallic?
I never have but that would look cool
how about one with dried flowers >.>?
Do you clean the brass casings with anything?
I use a vibration polisher with crushed walnut shells and metal polish
Great video thanks a lot, couldn't catch what kind of tape you used on your inserts?.
I use tyvek tape
Where do you order SealFix?
Can you recommend a different mold release? The one you have is no longer available.
I honestly have stopped using mold release all together
Would you Recommend attempting this with 1-1 instead of deep pour With brass inside. Without pressure pot-- Thanks
no due to the volume it would over heat
Where u get the casings?
At a local firing range
I’ve heard 24 hours is sufficient in the pressure pot. Have you compared different time-lengths in the pot to see if there is any impact on the product?
It’s still in a gel state at 24 hours so it’s safer to leave them in for a minimum of 48 hours.
Do you leave it in the pressure tank for the 3 days? What happens if you wait 5 days, does it hurt the mold?
It won’t hurt the mold at all if you leave them in longer
How do you get your brass so shiny? Do you tumble it? Thanks for sharing
I use a wet tumbler with steel pins, some dish soap and a little citric acid. About 2 hours.
Can you make bullet skull mold without a pressure machine Or would that be to much resin being poured at once Thanks love your videos
Yeah you can. The pressure pot is only needed to reduce and remove bubbles
Awesome. What pressure pot do you use?
I use the California air 225c
Do you have a certain place you buy your 9mm casing
I buy them from a local range. I fill a 5 gallon bucket and it’s everything from 9mm to 45.
Would be cool with a lightening bolt
Hi Byron,do you polish your skulls after demolding.TIA, enjoy your work.
I do not. The molds leave a glossy finish. But after about 7 uses that finish starts to get more matte
Just found out you had a TH-cam. 100 in a month is awesome! Definitely some serious potential. Have you thought about expanding to other object than just skulls? Also new one with the bora bora blue looks sick
I have been thinking about doing a few different things just haven’t landed on one I think is cool and will sell
Do you buy your spent shells, or do friends save them? I am looking for some place to get some. Thank you
I buy them by the 5 gallon bucket.
@@byromscustomwoodworkswhere do you buy them?
Why pressure instead of vaccum ?
Less steps and less chances of a mess. And a pressure pot does just as good of a job
Can you reuse the syringes?
I get 2-3 uses out of them before the rubber is trash
May I ask how heavy it is?
About 2 pounds
How many grams or mls does that size skull take to fill?? xx
It’s roughly 11 ounces of epoxy to fill them
How big are your molds?
About the size of a baseball. They hold 11 ounces of epoxy
Can you show me a link to your store
It’s In the description for the video
Just use a vacuum pot, quickly on the resin, before pouring it into mold, then pour slowly into mold, and put in pressure pot. should eliminate any bubbles.
If it was just resin in the mold that would work great
can i buy the bullet shells online ? where do you find them ?
I get them from local ranges. Can't find them free anymore so I usually pay around $3 a pound
Where do you buy empty shell casings?
I go to local firing ranges and buy them
@@byromscustomwoodworks oh okay. I will have to look into that. Not to necessarily do this, but you gave me a great idea for some jars and trays.
Whats the link to your store?

Nice skull
I vibrate my molds and all the bubbles disappear..
That works but you can still have micro bubbles
I seem to get a lot of bubbles on the back of the head, how can I prevent that?
Alcohol spritz should help. Also torch and proper Mixing time. It also depends on your choice of resin. I have this exact same mould, from let's resin...the skull is awesome...I get bubbles in the back of the skulls head...
How did you do that 2 tone skull you posted on your Instagram?
It takes 2 pours. Let the first one gel up then pour the 2nd in what ever color you want
😢 You don't deliver to England it says.
I dont see why the bullet shells dont like stick out of the eyes and mess it up .Would be my luck
I’ve had a few that have done that
Snow globe using circular mold hmmm thinking here lol
Great video , nice explanations! For what it is worth you made a Subscriber out of me!
