The train culture has changed a lot compared to the days of the past. Because of the long travel, people will communicate more at that time, so the train compartment becomes a very magical place, and there will be many interesting people and stories. Nowadays, people are immersed in their mobile phones most of the time, and it is hard to tell which lifestyle is better.
Aw that is really sad I would love this and I totally understand what you mean. I love speaking to other people and hearing stories when I travel. I have noticed this more in China than any other country that people are glued to their phone, maybe if I went back to UK it would be the same now as technology is taking over. I think it is good to enjoy the world around you not just be on your phone.

Sleeper trains doesn’t necessarily equal to slow trains, your train start with a Z which means it’s pretty much a non stop through train (maybe it stops once or twice). And T is slower than Z, K is slower than T, the ones that have no letters are the actual slow trains. Which sometimes are type 22 carriages, the really old ones and doesn’t go above 100 km/h.
I think for a long haul train like this, there should be a restaurant in one of the compartments. Basically overnight sleeper trains in China are very similar to those in Europe, only much cheaper, more crowded and much longer journeys.

haha it is! This isn't even the nicest trains either, the bullet trains here in China a much better than any flight I have been on for sure! I believe there was but I didn't go to it as I had already eaten. As it shows you there was a smaller food trolley that came around also.

I REALLY want to try them, you read my mind. I was trying to research yesterday where they travel to but I just couldn't find the information. On the internet it said Beijing to Shanghai but when I put the train number in it didn't exist on Trip.com!
This journey is 5 hours by bullet train and about 13 hours on the overnight train. The slow train is a bit cheaper but not much but it mainly travels overnight which means you get on sleep and wake up in your destination. Where as the bullet train wastes the day time so it really depends on what is more convenient time wise.

hahaha yeah I imagine you would have slept well anywhere. It made me feel a little travel sick but I really enjoyed the experience. I think it's definitely something you have to try if you come to China.
I really enjoy watching all your videos ;)) and this one is super useful and informative ♥️✌
Aw thank you!!

Should be fine, info like your name, passport number, is partially ***ed.
Great info - similar to old sleeper trains in Spain ..
Oh cool, you have sleeper trains in Spain? We don't have them in the UK!
don't get the delux sleeper, it's way over priced and the toilet is too close to the enclosure which makes the whole enclosure smell pretty bad.
Oh thanks! Good to know!
This train look better than many aircraft I've been on. Was there a dining car on this train ?
haha it is! This isn't even the nicest trains either, the bullet trains here in China a much better than any flight I have been on for sure! I believe there was but I didn't go to it as I had already eaten. As it shows you there was a smaller food trolley that came around also.
YES
Lovely ☺️
Thank you for watching!
I miss the old days when we got into the train from the window. you can never imagine
Really??? I can't believe it haha, was it stationary?
it was 20 years ago. spring Festival. the biggest immigration on this planet. since then we never do that. things got better day by day. today if you climb from the window. you will get caught
@@jerrylee1963 haha spring festival is always crazy so I can imagine. Yeh that certainly wouldn't be possible now!
@@jerrylee1963 Today, all air-conditioned trains that windows cannot be opened.
Which part of the UK are you from?
I'm from the North East of England near Newcastle.
ever tried a 30 hours trip from Changsha to Urumqi, hard sleeper, that was really a torture.
haha no but I can imagine! I don't think I could have stayed in the hard sleeper for that long. Which bunk were you on?
why don't you try the new sleeper train?
I REALLY want to try them, you read my mind. I was trying to research yesterday where they travel to but I just couldn't find the information. On the internet it said Beijing to Shanghai but when I put the train number in it didn't exist on Trip.com!
@@Nicofilms Maybe the distance is too short for the new sleeper train. Beijing to Shanghai only takes 5 or 6 hours. You may ask at the train station.
@@user-ms7tf3wi8f That's exactly what I thought but that seems to be the only information I can find. I will have to keep looking, thank you!

I am really confused 2 hours by bullet train or 8 hours hard sleeper. The slow train is really cheap.
Hey which was the book you showed last?
Hi! It was the Lonely Planet China guide, it is a smaller version of there massive one so a bit more portable whilst travelling. Here is a link amzn.to/2Io7ABZ
How many snorers were in your cabin? I did Nanjing to Xian in 2005 & hell it was hell, that is a common toilet in China - nobody cleans them - I asked people why & the reply was - its a public space why should i care for it - Thank god China is getting better and better year by year
To be honest it was cleaned for the morning I think we just got it at a bad time haha My ear plugs were a life saver, so luckily it wasn't too bad!
@@Nicofilms I`m in my 16th year and know for sure you got to it at normal time before it could be hidden;-D
It's not bad idea to take a sleeping train, at least I can save a hotel fee 😊
Yeah I think that is why it is so good!
The train horn is like a new fashion water torture
hahaha this comment made me lol. You are totally right that is how I felt haha. Thanks for watching, I hope you liked it.
Hi,Nico, where are you come from? UK?
Hi Andy, yes I'm from the UK. If you watch my Q&A videos then they explain a little bit more about me and my background :)
@@Nicofilms I am Chinese, but I am in your country now.
@@hofmand5145 Oh awesome, where are you in the UK?
@@Nicofilms Which city are you from in the UK?
I'm from a place near Newcastle in the north! Where are you?
Just got back joins me on my journey takes place in Beijing to Xian traveling my first time revival style overnight delivery pack if nothing is impossible and everything then check out our site
Great video Nico! But I really wanted to know the ticket price for hard sleeper, soft sleeper and the deluxe coach. That would also make the comparison easier 🙈
Thank you Simran. Well, it really depends on where you go and the different times as the prices vary from place to place. I have a video coming out soon which compares the sleeper train to the bullet train which has more information about prices which I found on the website Trip.com. This would be the best place to look to compare.
@@Nicofilms that's great! Looking forward to that video 😄
@@simranchawla6 It will be up in a few weeks!
你好🙊

Nice vlog 👍
It was nice to see our sweet neighbour china through your eyes.
Wish to visit their in future.
Keep it up and love to all our Chinese brothers from India.
The toilet looked like a crime scene.
🤣🤣
I wish that these videos weren't so self-promoting; Look At Me
Just try to take yourself out of your video and instead try to focus on the various details of the train!
Keep going
Thank you for commenting!
I well watch u forever don't stop
Ur welcome
@@h.101aqel2 haha thank you! I will keep them coming!
as a chiense . I even don't know they sell beer in the train. 😂😂
ltcomment - soft bed goes with western toilet
Did you REALLLYYY have to show the inside of the western-style toilet, especially without flushing it first?????
Love your hair color
Aww thank you!
is there no shower?
Nope no shower, we went straight to our hotel then had one there, haha
We used to call these “greenskin carts 绿皮车”, haven’t had a ride in one for many years now! I remember hating it when I was a kid, but now I oddly really miss it
Awww that's so cute I'm so pleased to bring you back some nostalgia. I think I would of loved it as a kid, what an adventure sleeping on a train! You should give it another go!
You have a very approachable personality. Wish I could book the same cabin with you I am sure we can strike an interest conversation.😂😂
haha thank you very much!
超喜欢小白毛 哈哈哈哈哈
what's wrong with the BGM? seems like your battery will run out soonly. lol
hahaha maybe it's your computer ;p
Jajajajja omg , "looking nice and tasty" defss... What a cabbage was laid there
hahahaaha yeah that's the best way I could describe it. To be fair it wasn't like that the whole journey I think it was just bad timing! haha
Ooooh, a sleeper train? That sounds cool, by the way, how are you doing Nico? Furthermore, your platinum blonde hair is breathtaking, I love it.
Yeah, it was a first for me but definitely something you have to try in China! It was a fun experience. Thank you that's so kind! I'm great how are you doing?
@@Nicofilms Of course, you're too beautiful, you don't have to thank me. Anyway, I'm doing good, just ready to travel, and it would be so cool to have a female friend on that sleeper train. Oh the dreams
I'm thinking to myself, "why don't we have that in America?" Haha
@@zeldamachina6305 Yeah America is so big it would certainly be a good thing to travel on! It's convenient and saves you a night in a hotel!
@@Nicofilms See, that's why you're so amazing Nico, you understand perfectly. It shows how much more advanced Asia is.
你可以试试硬座.😃😃😃😃😃
haha I don't think I would like it.
great
Thank you!
I booked a hard sleeper 😭😫
Oh dear, how long is your journey?? They aren't too bad.
I will travel next week I booked 2weeks before
